The Only Daughter Of Lancaster

The Only Daughter Of Lancaster
Section Ten: King's Commandments (2)

"Miss!" The call from Pita made me lower my sword. Sir George, the knight who became my servant gives a small salute. "Thank you for being my partner sir. See you soon." Pamitku with a small bow as a salute to Sir George.

"Sure, miss." Sir George went back and returned to his soldiers.

After that I walked over to Pita who was carrying a letter. I gave my head and sword protection to one of the servants, then took the letter that Pita had brought. "Letter from the kingdom? What's for?"

Pita did not answer, there was unrest there. I opened and opened the letter. This was definitely not the invitation letter of the first Prince's birthday party.

Royal Warrant

Greetings, greetings,

We hope that goodness and salvation will never leave us all. When the first tulip leaves bloomed in the city of Plodnavor, all the daughters of the nobility at the age of 8-16 years were obliged to contest the selection of future wives for the Seven Princes.

My eyes were opened when I read the letter. "What the fuck? I am not even legally married! Why king-"

The ribbon sat down, its head bowed. "Please, Your Majesty the King."

"Pita, stand. I'm wrong, I'll make sure to speak carefully." I said after controlling myself. The ribbon did not stand yet, so I stretched out my hand. "Baby, stand."

With a face holding back the crying Pita finally stood up. "Miss, please take care of your words. However, even if not in the palace, questioning the King's orders is a forbidden act. I don't want miss to be punished as a traitor."

I sighed, "I know. I'll be more careful."

I saw the letter again. There's punishment for families not sending their daughters. I don't want to get married, but I can't let the Lancasters get punished either. "When did the first tulip flower bloom the Ribbon?" I asked while looking at the sky that was overcast today. The weather really knows how I feel.

"15 nights from today, miss." The response of Pita made me close my eyes. I have a minute. "Now what does the lady want to do?"

"Practice the sword." I answered while taking my sword. Right now I need to get my emotions out.

"Aragh!" I shouted while shaking the sword at the wooden puppet in front of me. Celine, is this how you feel when three nobles want to marry you? How could they selfishly do this? Forcing a daughter to marry without hearing their opinions. Why do we as girls have no right to vote? In the end we just became a tool to connect family honor. Unknowingly my tears came down, it was so tight.

At the weekend the mistress and master of Lancaster arrived home. The two went straight into the bedroom of their daughter, Amabel. From the news they heard, Amabel continued to practice the sword and afterwards shut herself in the room. For an eight-year-old, excessive sword training is not good for their growth.

Duke Lancaster knocked on his daughter's bedroom door and opened it. Mary-Duchess Lancaster-go in first. In the room, the two could see Amabel staring out the window.

"Amabel?" Hearing the call made Amabel turn her head. Mary walked over to her daughter and hugged her tightly. "Darling, we're home."

Amabel's tears are flowing again. "Mom, mama, mama."

A mother's heart is soft. Hearing that call was enough to make his heart break. The name Amabel he gave so that his son always got affection wherever he was. Amabel, who he always loved and protected, had to be released. Even though her son had refused marriage from the beginning. Mary realizes that Amabel is a special child. The knowledge and understanding in Amabel is remarkable, sometimes even Mary forgets that her daughter is eight.

"Darling, you have to be strong." Mary said, wiping away her daughter's tears.

Duke Lancaster had only looked at the two women he loved the most. Seeing Amabel cry made her hurt. In the past, he had promised to always make his daughter smile. But today he hurt his daughter.

He moved forward, approaching Amabel. His hand touched the top of Amabel's head. "I'm sorry, Amabel."

"I'm so angry, papa, mama." Amabel said, his gaze was injured until he turned around. "Do I, as the daughter of a Duke, have to accept this treatment? Just because I'm the daughter of a nobleman I have no choice in life. I, a noble princess, must be restrained by a marriage I don't want. What hurts the most is the fact that they will punish our family if I refuse to contest this election."

Mary could only hold her husband's arm. While Duke Lancaster could not reply to anything. The guilt locked his mouth. "I don't even have the right to talk about how unfair this decision is."

Amabel this time went to her parents and got together. "I beg you to forgive me. Papa, mama, I'm leaving as a daughter of the Lancaster family. Not as Amabel."

That night, the Lancaster mansion was filled with tears. The guilt was felt by Duke Lancaster and Mary. Amabel felt broken and desperate.

Alec and Eli walked into their house with a heavy feeling. The two brothers knew about the royal order. They also knew that Amabel had gotten a letter from the kingdom.

"Where's Amabel?" Alec asked one of the servants. Alec's voice was so cold that it frightened the servant.

"Rear garden, sir." Answer with a trembling voice.

Alec goes straight to the back garden, followed by Eli. The house feels cold and stifling. Amabel would wait at the main door and run to greet them. Today they even saw Amabel who was practicing the sword.

Alec said nothing and immediately pulled out the sword he was carrying. Eli's eyes immediately puffed, shocked. "Alec, what are you gonna do?"

"Shut up, Elliot." Eli was silent in his place. Alec rarely called his name that way. Eli did not understand what was on his brother's head as he swung the sword at Amabel's neck.

"Alec, you're crazy!" Eli's shout was only met with a sharp look. Eli was eager to separate the two, but of course Alec had made protective magic so that no one could get close.

"Bless your sword and fight me, Amabel." That's Alec's orders. His gaze was sharp, but it did not scare Amabel. "Defeat me and see if you deserve to be a knight."

Amabel raised her sword. He never faced Alec directly, but he did not want to give up. We wouldn't know if we hadn't tried, would we?

Amabel ran, attacking Alec directly and consecutively. "No knight lifts a sword with emotion." Alec said and easily avoided Amabel's sword. With a single strike Amabel's sword fell. "You don't deserve to be a knight."

In front of him, Amabel looked at him furiously. "You keep talking about knights!" Scream Amabel is angry.

Alec puts his sword in, then approaches Amabel. "You angry?"

"Yes! I'm mad! To you! On papa! On kingdom!" Screeched Amabel. "You don't know how I feel, brother."

Alec sighed, "Amabel, if you don't want to then you don't have to."

"And get the whole family punished?" Amabel is upset.

Alec laughs, angering Amabel. "And now you're laughing!"

"I'm sorry" he said, wiping away tears. "You're funny, you're storied as if you were going to be the wife of one of the Princes. You're just running for the election, not necessarily being elected, right? Don't get too dizzy, Amabel."

"Then if I'm elected?" Reply Amabel.

Alec smiled, "you're not getting married. They'll have to wait until you're legal age. Chances are you'll just get engaged."

Amabel remained silent. These few days he was so emotional. It felt like his wings were forcibly cut. However, after hearing Alec he felt a little more relieved.

"You're not gonna lose anyone. We will always support you, what are you afraid of?" Alec now touches Amabel's shoulder, "you will not stop being my sister or stop being a daughter of father and mother. You, remain Amabel's family."

What exactly is Amabel afraid of? Amabel doesn't know. His only hope is to be happy with his family. His emotions for these few days made him forget that it was not just him who was injured. Papa, mama, Alec, and Eli must have been hurt, too. Maybe even Pita feels that way.

Amabel lowered her head, "forgive me."

Alec nodded and pulled Amabel in his arms. "Hold on, I won't let you into the palace alone."
