The Only Daughter Of Lancaster

The Only Daughter Of Lancaster
Part Forty-Four: Understanding Each Other

"Since morning, lady freak ya." Ella said as she hugged her tray. By his side Pita nodded. Actually since coming home from the party young lady does look strange. The girl became dumbass more often, even this time. The Lancaster family's daughter simply stared at the flower bed in front of her while holding her hand. A strange sight.

"Is Miss a problem?" Ella and Pita asked just by sniffing her shoulders, not knowing. "Ah, I hope the lady recovers quickly. Even though miss is not sick."

Pita nodded, looking back at her nona before finally turning towards the kitchen. Amabel stared at the park without doing anything. Or it could be that since then just sighing became his activity. Since last night, only Arion has been spinning around in his head. They haven't spoken yet and Amabel's guilt is running high.

"Um, miss." Amabel turned her head and Ella stood beside her. "Em, there's a message from the kingdom."

Amabel's eyes immediately rounded, feeling that there was an opportunity to talk to Arion. "Oh? What message?"

Ella smiled, feeling happy because her tone looked more relaxed. "The Empress Jovanka wants to see the lady."

Hearing that Amabel immediately stood up. "I'll go then."

Her steps were light and Ella smiled looking at him. "Pita is preparing his horse-drawn carriage. Oh, miss, you gotta get dressed up."

Amabel stopped, looking at her clothes that were enough. "Necessary, this is already-"

Ella shook her head and immediately pulled Amabel's hand. The girl could only sigh, resignedly. Be Amabel replace her white dress with a pastel blue dress. Her hair was decorated with a flower-decorated bandana. Ella smiled after putting the face on Amabel. The last touch was to put the scent of fresh flowers on the clothes and some parts of Amabel's body.

"It's done. Now the lady can go and see the mother-in-law." Ella's thump made Amabel's cheeks turn red. "Well, come on, come on. We can't make them wait any longer."

"Thank you, Ella, Pita." Amabel said after sitting in the horse-drawn carriage. The girl smiled, so beautiful. "I'm leaving then. See you soon."

I don't know why Amabel's departure this time made the two smile. It felt like their lady was already more mature and there was a warm aura coming out as she smiled earlier. "It feels like this time the lady will return with a smile." The ribbon stepped back into the house.

Ella nodded, following Pita's footsteps after seeing the Lancaster family horse carriage exit the gate. "I can't wait to hear the good news."

When arriving at the palace Amabel was immediately escorted to the palace of Empress Jovanka. Error, not the palace but the room. Empress Jovanka was in her special room at the palace. The servant who accompanied her knocked on the door first before allowing Amabel to enter. Seeing the waiter made Amabel miss Kier. How is he doing now? Since her return, Amabel has not met her.

"Greetings Empress Jovanka." Amabel pulled both ends of her dress down. "Amabel Lancaster salutes."

Jovanka smiled to see Amabel standing in front of her. The woman immediately patted the empty sofa beside her as the two made eye contact. When she looked up, Amabel realized that they were not just the two of them. There was another person standing by Empress Jovanka's side. The one Amabel had been thinking about, Kier. The two throw smiles at each other.

"Ah, you must know each other." Empress Jovanka said as Amabel took her place beside her. Jovanka patted Kier on the back several times, "from the beginning she was my servant."

Ah, so it seems. That's all Amabel had in mind. Seeing Amabel's change in face makes Jovanka pat Amabel's arm - which is being rested on top of the thigh. "Not to investigate or anything. In particular, Her Majesty, I, and Empress Freya chose servants for each of the future Empresses. I'll say this as fate because Kier became your servant."

Amabel smiled, looking at Jovanka and Kier alternately. "I'm sorry if I offended you. Also, thank you for the thread of fate that brought me to Kier. He helped me a lot in the exam a few years ago."

At his place Kier lowered his head, embarrassed to hear the praise. "My help is just a little. The rest comes from the dexterity of the Princess."

Jovankan smiled hearing that. The woman then gave a sign for Kier to leave the room. Amabel thinks this is a private conversation. After Kier came out, Jovanka held Amabel's hands together. His eyes looked excited and soft at the same time.

"Well, so, what do you think of Arion?"

Ah, this talk. Amabel cleared her throat before replying, "he's a good man."

Jovanka grieves to hear it. "Too common! Tell me more specifically! What does Bel like about my son?"

Amabel rubbed her nape, somehow feeling nervous and embarrassed at the same time. "Hng, I'm not very good at deciphering it with words. However, perhaps the main reason is that he's Arion."

Jovanka tilted her head, not understanding. Seeing that made Amabel even more nervous. "Because from the beginning he was Arion."

Amabel closed her eyes, frustrated. The reason he likes Arion is really unclear. But that's all that's in his head. From the very beginning whether Arion was a knight or a Prince, Amabel would still like him. Because he is Arion. The girl bit her lower lip, getting more and more confused with her own thoughts.

The weirdness slowly comes out of Jovanka's lips. It was a long time of laughter that confused Amabel. The woman clapped Amabel's hand again. "So, Bel likes Arion regardless of who Arion is, right?"

Amabel's cheeks met hearing that. "It's disrespectful." The big brother, but Jovanka immediately shook his head. "Try it first, yeah. The bell will be part of my family and I don't want any distance between us."

"Thank you." Amabel's reply was sincere. He then realized, "oh, what's really going on Per-, um, mama called me here?"

Feels thrilling. It felt like Amabel made a mistake but it felt right. His mind was back unclear. Jovanka pulled her cup of tea and sipped it slowly. "To ask about marriage. To be honest I know forcing something is not good. When Arion returns to the battlefield with Amabel gone, there must be a reason. I recently realized that the possibility of your departure has a reason that is not much different. I will not force you to tell a story. What's been going on behind we better leave."

There was a pause when Jovanka put back her teacup. The woman looked at Amabel softly, "the most important thing is this moment. So, is Bel willing to marry my son, Arion Saverio Walcote?"

Jovanka smiled, softly without coercion. From the beginning he wanted this moment. A moment to propose to Amabel for her son. The silver-haired girl's heart was beating rapidly. Jovanka realized her nervousness, "I'm not pushy. Whatever your choice, I will accept it. Even if I refuse, I will still regard you as my daughter and help you talk to His Majesty. No need to worry about the answers you give."

Amabel tightened her grip on the dress. "Me" he stopped and took a breath. "If Per-mama had asked me seven years ago I would have refused this request. I hated this wedding plan from the beginning. I don't like forced marriages. Several times I have had confrontations, with my parents, the second prince, up to His Majesty. I was so against it because I had no interest in being in the palace. Here, even if I become Queen in the future, political and state matters are untouchable. There are many walls deliberately created so that the movement of women is limited. It doesn't look like it, but it hurts more."

Amabel slaps Jovanka. Each of his words brings a flashback when proposed by the King. It felt like he was again forcefully reminded and that feeling of tightness re-emerged. Amabel was currently standing like a mirror in front of her. As if Jovakan's entire past was forced out.

"The fact that the King chose Arion as Crown Prince makes another reason for me to reject this marriage. I don't like the position I'm going to take in the future. I'm not ready and I'm not gonna be ready forever." Amabel stopped, still looking down at her fingers. He took a breath, then continued. "However, strangely I can't refuse it. Maybe I can reject all the titles that will be given, but I can't refuse Arion. I can refuse this marriage, but not Arion."

Jovanka looked up, meeting a smiling look at Amabel. "Mama asked me if I was willing to marry your son and my answer was yes. I'm willing."

There was a pause before Jovanka finally hugged Amabel. So tightly, it was as if he was hugging himself who was sixteen. At the moment what Jovanka sees is herself at sixteen, not Amabel. He hugged himself, "your path will not be easy, but trust me happiness will come to you."

Amabel's hand stretched out, returning Jovanka's embrace. "Thank you."

After meeting with Jovanka, Amabel immediately came out of the Empress's room. He didn't see Kier and chose to go home. The sun was already orange as Amabel walked towards the lake. His place and Arion were together seven years ago. The wind rustled, making her hair dance slowly. In front of him, the figure he was looking for was staring at him. The two exchanged views. Arion turned his face towards the lake. There was a painful sting in Amabel's chest when Arion turned his face away.

Slowly Amabel advanced, standing in line with Arion. If it's like this Amabel feels so small. His height only reached Arion's chest. Still, he felt safe. "I just met Empress Jovanka." Amabel opened up the conversation between the two. His wiggly fingers swung to attach the hair to the back of the ear. "He proposed to me for you."

Arion glanced over, enough for Amabel to be pleased. "If he did a few years ago, I'd firmly reject him." The wind again rippled, making the hair of the two dance slowly. "However, for now I can't refuse it. I, can't refuse you."

Arion turned his head, looking at Amabel with a look of disbelief. The girl smiled, "weird huh? When we part ways, my feelings can change. In fact, it's getting bigger. I fell in love at first sight and ended up loving you until this moment."

Amabel's honesty made Arion's brain performance stop for a while. "Ah, I think if you don't have the same feelings you can resist. There's no compulsion." Add Amabel quickly. Stupidly he felt so confident when he said his feelings. Maybe Arion doesn't feel the same. Again, the painful throbbing he felt.

Both silent. Although his brain wanted to leave immediately, but his legs refused to function. It was as if there was glue on his leg. Amabel looked down while looking at her shoes, begging her feet to move as she wished. However, futile.

"How can you" said Arion softly. Then he repeated it. "How can I refuse it? Whether you realize it or not, I love you too. Even much earlier and longer than you. Separating for seven more years tormented me. You left as if you disappeared from my life. It's so easy as if I have no meaning in your life. To me, you are the most precious person. If it was for your happiness, anything would I do."

Arion turned his head, touching Amabel's cheek so gently. He nodded, fusing the two. "Thank you" he said with closed eyes. "Thank you for accepting me."

Amabel nodded, her chest rumbling violently and it felt so warm. From such a close distance the two stared at each other and a smile was created. Arion pulled himself first and then patted Amabel on the top of the head. "It's late, let me take you."

Ordinary and normal conversation. It was as if they were just talking about their favorite food. "Are you going to walk me by the side of the horse?"

Arion smiled obliquely and it looked annoying in Amabel's eyes. "You'll marry me, so I can be on horseback with you."

"Ah, I'm here in a horse-drawn carriage." Reply Amabel.

Arion grinned, "I'll tell them to go home."

"Dictator." Ledek Amabel and Arion. For Amabel it's funny.

On top of a tree Rain evaporated. Her magic was successfully used on Amabel's legs. Although he must desperately refrain from vomiting because of the declaration of love both of them. He sighed, crossing his arms behind his head. "What am I really doing?"

Rain knows the end of this story. However, somehow she still tries to be a love fairy. Again, he sighed and then disappeared from the tree. At least, he could see Amabel smiling.
