The Only Daughter Of Lancaster

The Only Daughter Of Lancaster
Nine: King's Order (1)

When I opened my eyes, Pita and Elle were looking at me with red eyes. They must be crying because of me. "You all right?"

The ribbon that was easy to panic immediately cried. "Our mother, don't cry. I'm fine." I said, hoping he would stop crying. "Did papa know?"

The ribbon shook its head while wiping away its tears. "If miss didn't wake up earlier, we'd like to call Duke. Are you sure you're okay?"

I nodded and sat on the bed. "How long have I been unconscious?"

This time Elle replied, "it's only been a few hours, miss."

I nodded, "just be hungry."

The ribbon immediately wiped away the rest of her tears. "Calm down, lady, I'm going to make my lady's favorite pasta! Come on, Elle help me."

"We say goodbye, miss can rest again." Pita said before leaving my room.

I reminded him of what happened at the temple. Although it feels impossible, but in fact I met Celine. I closed my eyes, leaning against the head of the bed. So Celine, me, and Lalisa are the same person. It doesn't matter who I am, right now what matters is living the life I was given. This is my chance to be happy. Also my chance to get the love that Celine and Lalisa didn't get.

I held my left chest, feeling my heartbeat. This time, I will be happy. This time, I will get the love I hope for. How evil it is that I have to go through three lives to get a simple request. However, is being loved really a simple request?

I don't know. I only know that in this life I have to keep fighting. The sound of knocking on the door made me open my eyes. "Come on the Ribbon."

Pita came in with Elle to bring me dinner. I need to heal and rest tonight. Tomorrow, there's a lot more I need to find out. Especially about the royal lineage and the three nobles.

"Our Lady, Elle, today's events no one should know. Let's just say I'm exhausted from the long journey, okay?" Both of them nodded and I continued my dinner.

"You're aware that the First Prince will know again soon, right?" The king told three men in front of him. One of them was Duke Lancaster.

A man beside Duke Lancaster nodded in understanding. He was Duke Hamilton, the holder of power in the Loftnavor area. "Of course we know, Your Majesty. The Prince's birthday this time is very special because the Prince has entered the legal age."

The king nodded, "that's why I want to discuss marriage. What do you think?"

The blue-haired man who held power in the Pavienavor area stared straight at Duke Lancaster. "I agree on marriage, however the first Prince needs to marry to become a king."

"It is too early to make a decision on the next king. His Majesty the King is still healthy and I pray for His Majesty's safety." Duke Lancaster replied. He doesn't like to hear from Duke Prada. "Your Majesty, I believe that the Seven Princes of Yerkink have the same ability, for that if granting the title of Crown Prince based only on birth is unfair."

Duke Prada smiled, "you doubt Duke Lancaster's first Prince's abilities?"

Duke Lancaster immediately shook his head quickly. "How come? Without diminishing my respect, I know that the Seven Princes have the ability to be capable as Kings. Therefore, Your Majesty please consider your successor based on his abilities. Give another Prince a chance."

There was a long pause before Duke Lancaster replied. Duke Hamilton could only stare at the King and Duke Lancaster in turn. He doesn't like this atmosphere. "Your Majesty, I think Duke Lancaster's daughter is too young to enter the palace. If you're talking about a princess who fits into the palace, isn't Duke Prada's daughter more suitable?"

The king now turned his head, looking at Duke Prada who looked down. "It's an honor for me."

"Hm," The king did not answer directly. The man was thinking, "I know. After considering your advice, I will find a wife for the Seven Princes. That way they all get a chance to be king."

"Your Majesty!" Duke Lancaster and Duke Hamilton.

The king just smiled, he now rose from his seat. "My age won't get any younger, Duke. At least if I have to see one of my sons become King, I want to see them married as well. You can leave, the marriage warrant will be distributed soon."

Duke Lancaster immediately sat down, his face looking displeased. Beside him, Duke Hamilton simply patted his shoulder. "I take my word for wanting a daughter."

The words were immediately replied with a sharp look. "You want to fight with me? Right now?"

With that Duke Hamilton instantly made a gesture of covering his mouth. Duke Prada stood up with a triumphant smile. "Then, excuse me."

When the door closed, Duke Hamilton looked directly at Duke Lancaster. "It was clear that the man wanted power as a member of the royal family. You know, I think this is one of the King's ways to get that greedy guy to stop."

Duke Lancaster could only sigh. "I don't care about him, but if he betrays my own kingdom, I'll cut his head off."

Duke Hamilton knows that Duke Lancaster does not play with his words. "Now, tell me why don't you like this idea of marriage?"

Duke Lancaster sighed again. Duke Hamilton hasn't seen his best friend's riled face in a long time. "Amabel said she didn't want to go into the palace."

"Why? Don't most girls want to go into the palace and become empresses." Duke Hamilton replied.

Duke Lancaster rubbed his face, "he didn't think of getting married."

"Huh?" Only this time Duke Hamilton heard something like this. "I know your daughter's a smart kid. I'm sure there must be a reason behind that desire."

This time Duke Hamilton brought his face closer. "So, what's the reason?"

"She wants to live as my daughter forever." That answer made Duke Hamilton hold back his laughter.

"You have an interesting daughter. Trust me, he'll be the best candidate." Duke Hamilton tries to calm Duke Lancaster down. His hand then patted his best friend's shoulder while standing. "Don't be so riled up, no matter how your daughter might understand."

Duke Lancaster again sighed. He looked straight ahead. Really, he knew that Amabel would understand it just that the displeasure had arisen. The palace is not a safe place for Amabel.
