Section 53 - Don't Don't Don't Know Shame

Herjuno got up from his seat about to come out of his room past Megumi just like that who could not answer anything.

"If I had known about Haidar earlier, I would have divorced you too. Too late, I loved him very much. And now , I don't want to repeat it again. Raising another boy pretends to be my own flesh and blood. That's hurtful. Before I became more attached to the two babies, I decided to let go of her mother" she said from behind Megumi's back before actually exiting the room.

Megumi slid to the floor as the sound of the door behind her closed.

He was still busy digesting what Herjuno had just said.

Not likely.

Since when did Herjuno know that Haidar was not his biological son.

No right?

This isn't true, is it?

Body vibrates. His heart rate is racing faster. About the future of his household, clearly imagined in front of him.

I don't know what he could do this time.

Throughout the night Megumi kept thinking, she did not dare go out to find out where Herjuno slept. Maybe in Haidar's room, because her husband didn't come back until the morning.

This morning Megumi asked Bi Lilis to drive Haidar. Holding Herjuno home longer.

"Mas, let's talk" said Megumi after Bi Lilis and the children left for school.

"What else?" Herjuno was still busy packing some of the files he would bring to the office.

"All night I thought what you said last night, you're not accusing me, are you?"

To hell with the worst odds, Megumi is betting just in case Herjuno is just going through a crisis of confidence after 'Aurorae's betrayal'.

Herjuno sighed harshly. He turned.

"You're really shameless." He stared at Megumi in front of him.

"I love Haidar very much even though he's not my flesh and blood."

"Mas!" cut Megumi fast. "How much you do."

"I love you? Of course, we're family. Butlove you? I haven't." Long time ago."

Megumi's tears have been flowing.

"Why do you think I don't love you anymore? Because you're not pretty? Call Megumi, even I guarantee no man will dare to reject you. Why am I so infatuated with Aurorae that I have a wife as beautiful as you? You're flawless. Everyone must think I'm crazy for yelling at you."

Herjuno took a few steps back. Leaning her back against the wall, while continuing to stare at Megumi. While both hands he put in his pants pocket.

"From the beginning you were the one who knew Haidar the most, not my flesh and blood. That's why you did a DNA test on me as soon as Haidar was born?"

Megumi threw away her sight. His body was trembling. Six years ago, a few days after Haidar was born, Megumi did a DNA test between Herjuno and Haidar. As Megumi surmises, Haidar is not her husband's biological son. When they married, there was already a fetus in his stomach even though he himself was unaware.

"Just like now, Aurorae also did a DNA test shortly after giving birth." Herjuno laughed heartily. He looked up, holding back his tears from spilling.

"But this time it seems like God has pity on my poor self. My only luck is knowing it early, in just six months. Before I really bonded even more deeply with those kids. Just like it happened to me and Haidar. I found out too late, when Haidar was three years old." his voice began to tremble.

Herjuno recalls, three years ago when he accidentally found a piece of shabby paper in the bottom drawer of the closet in the room now occupied by Bi Lilis and Nadia.

Back then, Bi Lilis had not lived in this house yet, so the room was indeed empty. There were only a few of Haidar's clothes that were already unused.

"You must clearly remember that I once said that I would divorce you as long as you gave Haidar custody to me. If not, then enjoy your sickening life as my wife." Herjuno glanced at the cynical Megumi. The woman did not lift her face up.

"I'm sticking with you just because I don't want to part with Haidar. Are you gonna take him to his real father if we get divorced?" this time Herjuno's voice was a little hoarse. There was pain heard there.

"You know, it hurts a lot. Pretending not to know anything, pretending to be happy in this fucking marriage, it hurts so much." Herjuno. A drop of her tears fell.

Megumi's body slumped to the floor.

"Who would have thought, I'd experience this one more time." Herjuno chuckled softly.

"Mas, I-" Megumi squirms. His knees were even helpless.

"You want to apologize to me? Don't be so shameless, Megumi. Why apologize if you don't regret what you did? You're still seeing that guy, aren't you?"
