The Roof You Promised

The Roof You Promised
Section 63 - Father and Mother Divorced

"Is he still bothering you?" Maudy asked again because Aurorae did not immediately answer.

Aurorae. "It's all done."

"I hope so too. That woman is really terrible."

"No need to bring it up. He's already got a punishment. That's enough."

Megumi was sentenced to two years in prison at the time, lighter than the charges for consideration of having a toddler and it was her first offence.

"May he no longer pursue Herjuno." Maudy sounded grumbling. Since leaving the company five years ago, Maudy has only called Herjuno by his name. Moreover, two years ago Farhan got a promotion as Finance Manager, a position equivalent to Herjuno.

Aurorae.

"Don't laugh! You didn't see him when he came to the office making a fuss."

"He's coming to the office?"

Maudy nodded. "Gum." He frowned looking a little thoughtful. "About five or six years ago, before I left the company."

Six years ago, that was shortly after he was released from prison.

"He was screaming like crazy because security didn't let him in, and Herjuno didn't want to go out to see him."

Aurorae. Neither Herjuno nor Dea ever told this.

"May that be the first and last time he bullies you again. I never heard anything after that."

Aurorae nodded in confirming. Maybe Megumi just wanted to apologize.

Aurorae and Maudy had a long conversation that afternoon. Aurorae even took the time to drive Maudy to the hotel where she was staying before returning home.

"Wow, is this Mom's cooking?" Ryana screamed happily as she came to the dinner table for dinner.

"Hum, special for Mom's kids." Aurorae cooed a little of her daughter's nose.

Everyone ate well that night. Aurorae has not cooked for a long time. If he wanted to eat something, he would ask Bi Izza specifically. After all the same, Bi Izza's cuisine is no less delicious.

"Mom, can Ryana call me?" Ryana whines on her mother's arm shortly after dinner.

Aurorae looked up, staring at the wall clock hanging above.

"hum. Ask me if I'm busy? If you're still in the office, don't interrupt" Aurorae said, holding out her phone.

"Good." Ryan quickly got down from the chair and half ran towards the living room.

"Yes, Rae?" Answer Herjuno across the street.

"Dad, this is Ryana."

"What's up, baby?"

"Are you busy? Still working? Mom says, if you're busy, Ryana shouldn't bother you."

Ryan, who had been following his sister, rolled his eyes lazily and then snorted annoyedly at his sister.

"You moron? If that's how you ask, of course I'll answer not even if it's this much work." Ryan moved his hand into a very large circle.

Herjuno.

But he had not been able to talk , already heard the sound of Aurorae interrupting.

"Abang, come!"

Ryan clucked at Ryana who pursed his lips, then he moved towards Aurorae.

"Why call stupid sister, hum?" Aurorae stroking her son's head fondly.

"Ryana is very insensitive, if you talk always without thinking." He's still grumbling.

"But what's so good about it?" Aurorae was still smiling, there was no look of annoyance or anger on her face.

"Sorry, Mother. Brother is just upset, don't really think Ryana is stupid. He's very smart." He began to look guilty on his face.

"Abang is indeed much more sensitive than Brother, Brother can think quickly. But Brother is not stupid, he is just very honest. I know you don't really think Brother's stupid, Brother's just anxious huh? But next time, you can't talk to someone else, okay?"

Ryan nodded. "Yes, Mother. Forgive Brother."

Aurorae pulls Ryan's nose. "Good boy. Apologize to my sister too, yes?"

Ryan nodded then walked back to Ryana in the living room.

"I'm sorry, you're wrong to call your stupid sister." she extended her hand towards Ryana.

"You call me sister only when I'm guilty." Ryana threw a hostile look.

"Rilana!" Herjuno voice interrupts.

Ryana. "I'm sorry, Ryana was just joking." she accepted her brother's hand.

"Sit here, brother. Dad said I'll take the report later at school." The girl told me with passion.

"Really, Dad?" Ryan looked at Herjuno on his phone screen. Face sparkling.

Ah is that happy just because their report will be taken Herjuno? Herjuno did not expect at all.

"Hum, are you happy?"

"Of course, I'm going to show Dad to my friends."

Herjuno. "Well, I'll come."

The children accompanied Herjuno along the way home from his office which that night was a little more jammed than usual. The new call was turned off when Herjuno reached his home.

"Abang, why don't you stay here?" ryana asked shortly after the call was disconnected.

"Father and Mom are divorced." replied Ryan lightly.
