The Roof You Promised

The Roof You Promised
Section 77 - Asking for Restu

Ryan rolled out the thin carpet they brought from home, he chose a fairly shady place with a beautiful view of the green lake. Today is not too crowded, because it is not a holiday. He flung his body with his pillow-faced head. Gosh, they really prepared everything well, until the pillow they brought from home.

"Far to the lake just to learn, why not just stay home!" Ryan nagged when he saw Ryan lying down while reading a book he brought from home.

Herjuno chuckles, he helps Ryana bring out various kinds of food brought from home.

"Lay down too, this is so much fun." Ryan patted the space on his side.

Ryana did not respond, directly grabbing a pillow and lying on her stomach next to Ryan, peeking at what book her brother was reading.

Ryan hurried to straighten his body. Looked at his sister. "Wear your blanket ! Oh, my God, you are!" He throws a blanket while glancing annoyed at Ryana's clothes.

"Why wear a dress! I told you, just wear pants! You don't see this in public?" The boy nagged long.

"Sad. It's still below the knee." Ryana is no less upset but still wears her blanket.

"If the wind opens you know the taste!" Ryan returned to his body after making sure the blanket protected his sister's body.

This time, Ryan lay on his stomach like Ryana so they could read a book together.

Herjuno chuckled at the interaction of his two children. Ryan is very possessive of his sister but Ryana considers him a fierce and annoying brother.

"Dad, come here. Right said Brother, this is so much fun." Ryana waved at Herjuno who was taking off his shoes.

"You guys happy?" ask Herjuno as he gets closer.

"Hum!" Ryan nodded. "It's more fun than a walk to the mall."

"I told you what, you don't believe. Always at the mall, it's boring." Ryan turned over a page of his book.

"Take us more often, Dad! Next time with Mom and Grandpa too, huh?" Ryana cheered as she moved her legs.

Ryana. "Dad, look! You always nag."

"That's because you love me." Herjuno lies on his stomach on Ryan's side.

"Look! There are a lot of grown men here." Ryan cupped Ryan's chin then moved it to the right and left. There were a lot of people there, though not too many.

"You're going to be a student, take care of yourself!" The boy was still upset, not constantly staring at his sister.

Ryana did not respond anymore, she just immediately corrected the location of her blanket so that her brother stopped nagging. Ryana is getting closer to being able to read books more clearly. Not long after, Ryan fell asleep. Followed by Ryan , who also immediately closed his eyes when the book was finished he read.

"Dad, let us sleep for a while. It's so fun." Ryan made a sound before completely closing his eyes.

Herjuno chuckled, then nodded. Slowly rubbing the heads of the two children alternately. These sweet children, who now love him very much, he once abandoned. Had it not been Aurorae, Herjuno was not sure he still had a good relationship with his children.

Ah, considering Aurorae makes Herjuno miss seeing it. When he said Aurorae still looks beautiful, he did not lie. All this time Herjuno had been struggling to refrain from approaching Aurorae excessively. He did not want Aurorae to feel uncomfortable and then move away.

When the day starts to get hot, Ryan and Ryana wake up. After filling 'em up, Herjuno asked for their attention saying they would talk about important things. His heart was pounding, though he was sure his two children would give him their blessing but still he was nervous.

"For all your past mistakes, I'm sorry." Herjuno stared alternately at his silent children not interrupting.

"If it wasn't your mother, maybe your whole life wouldn't have met your children. Your mother is an amazing woman, no matter what her heart is made of. Gumilar's grandfather was also the same, if Rae's mother was someone else's daughter, maybe Dad had been beaten up by his father." Herjuno. There were also many regrets and gratitude in each sentence.

"What you've been doing for eighteen years, you can't erase your past mistakes."

"Dad, why did you say that?" Ryana was already teary-eyed, for some reason she felt sad when her father brought up such a painful thing in the past.

Herjuno. "Dad just wants you to know, that Dad never forgot what you did in the past. Dad doesn't want to be a selfless man who dares to propose again to his ex-wife after ever hurting her so much. I've never underestimated the pain I'm feeling, you guys too. I promise I'll be sorry for my whole life, so do you agree that Mom and Dad are back together?"
