Vol 1 Chapter 4: Interrogation

Currently, Rio was locked up in a prison, inside the Royal Palace.

After Christina and Flora were found, the soldiers quickly put them under her protection.

And for some reason, Rio himself was arrested and thrown in jail. And that's when, he learns that Christina and Flora turned out to be a princess of the country.

Three days have passed since he was arrested.

With only a small amount of time to sleep and eat, most of the time is spent being interrogated.

That was how Rio spent his days in prison. While his body and mind were still asleep, he would be asked questions every 5 minutes

more than three interrogators.

“Say everything you know!”

Rio wanted to know how many questions he had been given during these three days.

He was tired of hearing the same question over and over again.

“I told you, I just happened to pass by. Coincidentally I was walking in the alley, then I happened to see the kidnappers who brought the girl it—Christina-sama and Flora-sama . And I decided to save them. That's it”

The interrogators looked distracted when Rio mentioned ‘That girl’ realized that, he then called them politely. Rio became fed up of repeating the same testimony over and over again.

Rio was asked the same question over and over again.

“I didn't lie” And the upset Rio also kept answering the same question.

“Naa~, once again, you said that you only helped Chritina-sama and Flora-sama by chance. It was really hard to trust”

The interrogators said that while showing an unusual expression.

“Until now, we've been conducting investigations on you politely. But if you refuse to tell me everything you know, then we have to change his ways in our own way”

The oppressive attitude of the interrogator caused the atmosphere in the prison to become gloomy and the long interrogation has not been fruitful.

To the interrogator, being able to keep in his appearance until now was a thing worthy of praise.

Fed up, the interrogator returned Rio's smile by hitting him on his chest by using

sword hilt. Rio's face then slammed onto the table.

“GAH!” The interrogator repeatedly slammed Rio's face onto the table.

With the second time, Rio's lips had already started to hurt and bleed. At least he could ease the injuries he had sustained through body strengthening, but he had difficulty controlling his magic power.

It seemed like a tool that shackled his wrist that had blocked the flow of magic power.

shaking his head.

Rio stared intently at the interrogator as if he was the murderer of his parents. The interrogator pulled Rio's hair, raised his face and hit his stomach.

Looking at Rio who was in pain, the interrogator showed a satisfied expression.it was clearly a sadistic attitude. The pain in his stomach made Rio's face turn sour.

“Your Majesty told us to treat you with care. After all, you are the savior of Christina-sama and Flora-sama . That's reasonable”

“But you're too dangerous. As I said before, all

your testimony is too suspicious. There are too many uncertain. Even if I had to use violence, I would get all the information from you. Understood?"

Grasping Rio's head, the interrogator frowned in front of Rio's face. The two were filled with hatred. Rio floated a mocking smile on his face.

“If I say don't know, it means I don't know” Rio easily answered it without hesitation.

He did not try to answer in any other way because what he said was the truth.

“Hmph-deep. Can a criminal like you understand His Majesty's kindness? Alright, there is an easier way for trash like you to be able to understand it”

Saying so as a provocation, the interrogator patted Rio on the face.

“After everything, you might be able to tell who the main culprit behind all this is. I wonder who that is? Is that noble?”

For the reason of that wrong interrogator, Rio could only issue *******.

“You don't know? Why not try to ask on pen—GAH”

Before he could finish his words, Rio's face was hit.

“The Whores, THEY'RE ALL DEAD! They've been killed! You

the only one alive!"

Rio was surprised after hearing those words. At that moment, he wanted to know if his body could survive after receiving so many blows.

But in the presence of recovery magic, he reconsidered the thought as he might be able to stay alive for further interrogation.

“Killed?”

While Rio was still harboring doubts towards the interrogator's words, he believed what he had just said was the truth.

To be able to poison the kidnappers, the main perpetrator of the abduction should be somewhere in the palace.

But why didn't he kill me?

That was because the main culprit in this incident would not be affected even if he was still alive.

Rio and the main culprit of all these events have no relationship whatsoever. For Rio to be interrogated would be an advantage for the main culprit.

So Rio was purposely left

life to hand it over to the interrogators. If that's the case, then Rio's life isn't in danger for now. But that only applies to matters related to the main perpetrator.

If he was careless, he might be killed. Although he had been saved by the royal family, thanks to the suspicions placed on him, he was treated as such.

If this state of affairs continued, they might soon turn to torture. In that case, it wouldn't be strange if he died.
