Chapter 5: Second Day

The first day ended with some troublesome things to think about going forward.

Now that the second day had arrived, I was in class while enjoying the quiet atmosphere. It's too early for me to come in at half past seven, but I don't have any activities at all.

Besides the very cold temperature of the park makes me unable to relax there. I could have the flu because of it.

"Satomi, you came very early huh?"

Danna came with her cheerful face and she also took the time to talk to me before sitting on her own stool.

"It's shocking, you refused to pair with Lina and chose someone lower than her."

"It would be too much trouble if I paired up with a popular girl like her."

Those who are called humans really like to compare with each other, until after they can decide who is on top to its glory.

This was the same as the comparison between Lina and Elaina, they considered Lina to be above Elaina because from wherever Lina looked more striking.

Slowly the number of students entering the class grew more and more and more students approached me and Danna as well.

One of them immediately got angry and hit my desk until a loud voice echoed. This made Danna a little frightened, she could only stare at me being yelled at by her own classmates.

"Which is crying Lina, but why are you guys feeling angry?"

Although some people were behind this grumpy student, but they remained silent and only witnessed his actions. Maybe they're waiting for orders from his superiors and he's a hot-tempered student who wants to kick my desk.

Just as his feet were about to hit the front of my desk, Mr. Smith came to reprimand with a look of intimidation he let out, making them frightened and dispersing themselves to sit on their respective benches.

I think I'm still lucky this time. That's right, I didn't see Elaina in class. Even I haven't seen him today since we enrolled together in the teacher's office yesterday.

"Unfortunately no, I sorted the seats based on the scores in your test last time, then the two grades were merged and divided into two. The lowest value will be ahead and the highest value will be behind."

It seems like I will be in front because I only get an average score of 80, plus I don't know the value that Elaina got during the entrance test. If the value of 80 I get is added to the value of Elaina, then it will be the average value that determines where we sit.

"For a while, you can sit anywhere and listen to my explanation properly! So in this school there is a point system where the quality of students is assessed from points. "

The students immediately sat in pairs according to what Mr. Smith ordered.

I was also directly sitting in front as usual, but the only difference was that there was an additional table and chair that was empty without being filled by someone. The one who filled this empty bench was Elaina, but she was still serving her sentence for being late.

"What's the only use of points?"

"Satomi, I'm not done yet. For starters, your points will be divided based on the scores obtained during the athletic test last time. If you get a score of 95, then your starting point is 95. Of course, the starting points of each student are the same and there are different. In terms of usability, points are very useful to distinguish which students are smart and which are stupid, so that we can give additional lessons to students who are stupid."

So once, points will largely determine the quality of students and perhaps discrimination will occur to students who have the lowest points. Maybe I'll experience it because I only get 80 points.

"The addition and subtraction of points can happen, you have to be careful because if your points reach zero, then you will be immediately expelled. It seems I don't need to explain how to get both of those things, I'm sure you guys can understand it well."

The rules of the points are easy to understand. Points can be obtained by getting an average score in each athletic test and points reduction can occur if you score below the average when the exam is held. That is still the first possibility and the possibility of others may continue to grow.

"Just enter!"

Elaina knocks on the door and goes straight into the classroom at the behest of Mr. Smith. He wore a fearful expression and perhaps he was also holding back the embarrassment of being seen by many students. Then Elaina walked up to me and sat down next to me because it was the only empty bench.

"Elaina, don't be late again next time. I'd also like to let you know that points deductions can happen if you break the rules, I'm sure you all know the school's specific rules and restrictions."

Elaina looks sorry, but somehow I feel that she is happy too.

"Because everything is complete, I will directly arrange where you will sit. Stand up!"

All the students immediately stood up after being ordered by Mr. Smith.

"The one who filled the front bench left, Satomi Adney with Harlow Elaina, an average score of 81."

As expected, Elaina and I sat on the front bench. Then without a second thought we immediately sat on the front left according to the words of Mr. Charles. Come to think of it, I just moved a little to the left.

Many of the students in the class were staring at me and Elaina as they moved. I didn't know what they were thinking, but looking from his expression I was pretty sure they were like they were laughing at us both.

"Sorry Mr. Smith, can I go to the toilet?"

I interrupted Mr. Smith and wanted to get out of class to relax in the park. I know where I sit anyway.

Without a second thought I got up straight from the chair and went out of the classroom, I also left Elaina alone there.

My goal is not the toilet, but the garden grass. It didn't take long, I had already gotten there and was lying on this rather cold grass. Even though it was cold, I still enjoyed it.

Actually I just relaxed for a while and before long I thought of something when I saw Elaina who was late, I somehow felt that she did it on purpose.

The person I thought about unexpectedly came and it turned out that he was following me. Elaina immediately sat down next to me before she answered my question.

I forgot one thing about Elaina, her Junior High friend, I deserve my mind to be a little stuck when I think of Elaina who is late. It turned out that she still felt afraid of him, after all I did not promise Elaina to protect him from that person. I just offered to be her partner as guilt for continuing to ignore her.

"Elaina, I have one interesting offer. You want to hear it?"

Now is the time for negotiation. I want to make Elaina give up on loving me, and that's why I'm going to offer her something.

Unknowingly my strange actions and attitude made a girl fall in love with me, I guess I've never met this type of girl in my life. So I guess I'm a little bit interested in him, even if not as the opposite sex.
