Chapter 29: Base of Defense

Panic was still with Fermund, he was waiting for Juvel to come with the elemental weapon he had made, and Fermund had no idea how much Juvel had made.

Fermund also commanded the royal archer soldiers and the royal Javeliner who were usually in the navy.

Fermund assembled two units of 450 each, convinced that the number was enough if they used elemental weapons.

They had already marched on the field around the palace, along with the militia that seemed to have just arrived.

"I'm sorry we're the princes, we're late" Rhogan said.

"It's okay, I have something to talk about"

"We already knew about the troops coming, we seemed to be ready" Rovan said

"Actually you militias are candidates for elite forces who will receive elemental weapons to destroy the Griffin Rider."

All the militias were shocked and thought nothing of the power of the elemental weapon because Fermund said it could destroy the Griffin Rider army

"But I can't just send you guys, you have to train until you're ready, right now the soldiers at your side are temporary troops,"

The militias wanted to join, but they still thought about their families and brothers.

Juvel came with two caravans covered in black cloth, he came to the line of troops and showed a lot of elemental weapons made, all the soldiers were amazed to see the aesthetics of the weapon, they wanted to use it immediately.

"Your majesty, we have made a thousand elemental weapons, and five hundred pieces in each type of weapon"

Fermund was relieved that since they had already produced many of them, then Fermund ordered the militia to return to the great barracks, train until they were ready, and he would inaugurate these elite troops on the battlefield.

The militias followed Rhogan with a look at the most powerful weapon, and they had not told him that they would be an elite force to his family.

"Without waiting any longer, you change your armor and bring bows and arrows, and for the javeliners, we have prepared a shield extending downwards and eight javelins mounted on your back and tucked in the shield" Juvel said

"Deploy your elite Sky Hunter army, accompanied by 600 heavy infantry troops right now, and you will be commanded by Andreis for a while"

The troops headed for the main gate of their capital preparing for battle, Hermund was confident that they would give him victory.

The people of the capital were crowding the roadside, seeing that they were going north, everyone who saw the troops wished they could win the war.

From the capital, the army passed through the central region of the kingdom, they passed through several large cities, countryside and ports.

Duke Nordford had learned of the existence of the great reinforcements informed by Fermund, he told duke Nordford that they were a new elite force.

The troops were immediately sent to a port close to the border, they went down at the large port where they saw, some of the ships pacing back and forth trading with the goods they carried on the ship.

The troops were brought outside the gate, and there was an old grandfather along with the spearmen troops outside the port city walls.

"Include me, my name is Miers, now that we are outside the city gate of Finweis, I am the servant of the duke of Nordford."

"My name is Adreis, call it the temporary command of the Sky Hunter army"

"Okay, Mr. Andreis, they are waiting for you on the field of battle, let's go there immediately"

Miers and Adreis on horseback, they moved the troops to the battlefield, they set out for a valley where the royal line of defense was holding out.

They were a little bit far away, they were a little exhausted, but when they saw the hills, they were excited and walked faster towards a hard war, they had to end that war with victory.

"The base of my master's defense is between three hills, they build a base hidden there" Miers said, pointing towards the hill.

The troops had already entered the valley territory, they were stealthily walking towards the defense base.

"Commander Adreis, there was a battle there, and five Griffin Riders cast fire magic down the hill"

All the troops including the heavy infantry troops sent to escort the elite troops were silent with the Miers troops, they were amazed to see the powerful lightning overflow,they thought duke Nordford and his army would go along too.

"Let's hurry up there" said Adreis

One hundred heavy infantry troops were behind the elite and the spearmen, while the rest were behind.

Adreis and Miers were in front of themselves on horseback, after climbing the three hills, they saw a complex and impenetrable defensive base, and there was a large road to get out of the hills.

After they saw it more clearly, many buildings were damaged due to the airstrikes of the Griffin Rider.

They immediately went down the not-so-high hills, their arrival was noticed by the duke of Nordford because the soldiers from the lookout tower saw them.

"Duke Nordford, thank God you're okay" said Miers, who ran into duke nmNordford and examined his body.

"I'm fine, get out of the way, I want to talk to him"

Duke Nordford approached Adreis and spoke with him "are you the commander of the elite forces informed by the prince?"

"Right, I am only a temporary commander, and actually, this elite force was created by the prince to destroy the Griffin Rider" Adreis explained

"Before you tell me, I already knew if you guys were making those griffin riders scorched, I believe now that the great army said by the prince is capable of changing the battle situation"

Duke Nordford praised the elite troops and he trusted Fermund from now on.

"Then can you return our ten arrows that stuck in the griffin's corpse"

"Are we going out tomorrow and attacking at full strength?" Ask Adreis

"Sure, we'll put some of my troops to guard the defensive base with those thirty lightning archers to stand guard if the griffin rider comes again"

"Alright, we'll rest and wake up tomorrow morning, and have the troops take turns to stand guard"

The Javeliner troops who had yet to turn a show were very eager to face the battlefield tomorrow, they wanted everyone to see their strength as well.
