Chapter 31: The Battle of the Gorlan Valley

Duke Nordford's forces easily took them all, his army of marauders subverting the enemy cavalry.

Now that two hundred heavy infantry were charging at them, the storm archers were helping them while Typhoon Javeliner was protecting the attacking witches from a distance.

"Heavy infantrymen, spread into enemy territory and destroy them"

In the hills where the ground is not flat, benefiting the lightning archers who are positioned in high places.they make it easier for heavy infantry troops to disrupt the enemy camp that is in the rubble of the defense base.

The remaining infantry troops in the ranks formed a shield wall, and behind it was a united army of spearmen forming a formation and positioning its spear in front.

The troops that formed the Formation made their way slowly towards the encampment, along with the magicians protected by Typhoon Javeliner.

"You dare attack us, do you want to die quickly or do you not want to rot in your place and be a coward"

Duke Nordford came forward with his horse and said loudly "we are with a strong army that will shake the world, now you will see it!"

"Oh, really, maybe Griffin Rider doesn't know where he is because you killed him!" Said the enemy commander with an angry face

"Hmph, do I need to answer, after we destroy you, the next is to destroy all the troops in the Gorlan valley!"

Duke Nordford encouraged all his troops, their morals were high and they would become even more ruthless in a battle that for them was too easy.

The leader of the Valmurg royal army came with a heavy cavalry force on the hill where the first base was now reduced to rubble.

"Heavy cavalry squad, so on!!"

Hordes of heavy cavalry troops descended the hill, they shouted loudly while wielding spears.

Adreis saw the horseman wearing a thick armor that seemed strong, as well as a special horse armor attached to the horse's body.

"Typhoon Javeliner, prepare your javelins to penetrate that thick armor!"

Javelin Typhoon troops took a swing to throw a short spear in their hands.

"Throw it right now!"

The Javelin was thrown strongly by the heavy arm of the pitcher, but the distance of their attack had not yet approached the troops.

"Haha, are you fools throwing Javelins when we still haven't entered the attack range, you guys are indeed a bunch of idiots!"

"Control the javelin with wind magic!" Shouted Andreis

All the Javeliners controlled the wind coming out of that javelin with magic energy, it was as if it was itself flying towards that army.

The enemy commander as well as the heavy cavalry warriors just gawked wordlessly at the sight of the spear not falling but instead flew with wind magic and towards them.

"The spear is pointing at us!" Shouts of enemy commanders

The wind javelin was falling like a tailed star hitting the troops, those who survived the javelin again had to resign where they received a bolt of lightning.

All the enemy soldiers were scattered, they were charred to death by the lightning magic from the arrow.

Everyone immediately took all their goods, so that those in the camp, even the camp itself was dismantled and brought.

But before taking armor and weapons, the witches cast Dispel spells to remove the lightning that flows through the iron.

A small section of the heavy infantry took all the loot and carried it to the second base, while the others continued to advance until they reached the Gorlan valley.

Duke Nordford and Adreis were curious about why they had not found a single Griffin Hunter, how could they possibly dwell in the Golan valley.

After passing through the hills, they passed through the path in the cliff crevice, they thought this was a bad road to pass because the enemy troops could have shot arrows from the top of the cliff.

Therefore, Nordford ordered Andreis with Storm Archer to check the situation on the cliff.

Duke Nordford waited under the cliff, while Adreis and the twelve Storm Archer troops climbed the cliff with the uphill road on the right of the cliff.

After seeing Andreis state that there was no one, he and the twelve soldiers would stand guard there while all the troops could cross the road between the two cliffs.

The large army passed safely over the cliff, after all had passed the cliff, they waited for Adreis and the twelve Storm Archer warriors.

The army formed a large line and advanced into the Gorlan valley before their eyes, and saw a wooden wall surrounding the great camp, and there was also a wide and deep moat of course.

They walked slowly to the camp by flying the svardian kingdom.

The enemy scout who saw it reported it to a commander.

"Storm Archer's army, you're on the right side with the Valdis clan's witches, with that heavy infatri, and Typhoon Javeliner behind me, follow my aba to destroy the flying monster!"

All of the Typhoon Javeliner formed two layers of crescent moon formation, their shields tightly bound to each other and they raised their short spears to be thrown into the air.

"Throw!"

They simultaneously threw the wind javelin into the air, and directly controlled the short spear with wind speed.

Many Griffin Riders have fallen, but some are still maneuvering to avoid, but it is free.

With ease Griffin Rider troops fell after a fight with a fire witch who spewed fire down Typhoon Javeliner troops.

While the heavy invantry had collided with the enemy's heavy infantry, they pushed each other.

The spearmen also pierced into the gap of the enemy shield formation, although only a few were knocked down but it could cause a gap in the enemy formation.

The heavy infantry broke through the enemy formation, and under Duke Nordford they divided the army to encircle the enemy from both sides.

Not to mention the magicians who cast helper magic such as increased stamina and body strengthening.

Storm Archer's forces also pounded them from the enemy's right side.

Meanwhile at the enemy camp, the commander and the leader of the elite troops who saw in the tower could only see their troops destroyed by a powerful force they did not know.

"How can this be!, our forces are easily defeated, and what was that, that darting object and that mighty lightning, how dare they attack with the help of a great magician?" The enemy general said that he was angry and confused.

Storm Archer's troops withdrew from their positions near the heavy infantry and immediately set up positions behind the enemy's heavy infantry troops that were already surrounded and waiting to be finished off.

"Storm Archer's forces, kill the approaching troops" cried Adreis from afar

The Typhoon Javeliner force that finished dropping the Griffin Rider which was not so many, immediately formed a shield formation in front of Storm Archer and drew a short spear forward.

The enemy troops that were originally eager to attack, suddenly became timid after the fall of all the Griffin Rider troops.

They fled leaving the general and their camp which was certainly full of valuables and food.

The general was furious and tried to escape with the Griffin Rider leader with his personal Griffin.

The Svardian royal army finally managed to repel their enemies, even the first time they slaughtered many Griffin Riders who had an invincible reputation, it seemed like the reputation of the elite troops of the pride of the Valmurg kingdom would be destroyed.
