Chapter 51: The Mission to the Assassin

Assassins were heading to the northeast to check that it was there that the source of the spread of bad rumors that brought down the dignity and good reputation of the Svardian kingdom.

They all entered enemy territory and spread throughout the city in the territory of the Valmurg kingdom.

They were surprised to see the construction of a defensive post with a long wall with a moat and wooden pegs below.

The assassin squad broke into the city and began questioning the townspeople about the rumors, and they all said that the rumors were rubbish and untrue.

The assassins found a person who spread rumors that were packaged in a certain story, he said by speaking in public.

Soon the assassin who saw it was scouting him and waiting for him to finish talking and ambush him later, while the others scattered to find other fellow assassins to tell that suspected rumors had been flagged.

And he suggested to gather witches throughout the kingdom to create magic barriers in the city, the fortress, also in the line of defense that was being made.

Ursvias did everything in his power to survive the Svardian kingdom's assault while slowly raising funds and various means to reclaim his land and take revenge for the murder of his son.

Turning to the assassin who was stalking the person who spoke in public, he did not immediately ambush him, but he had the other assassin watch him along the way as the man left.

They followed the man, and the man walked towards the alley and entered the outskirts of the city, the man went to the two-story house.

The leader of the squad gave the order with a hand signal, they all acted, the assassins surrounded the house, four of them went in quietly and checked around.

Four of them checked into some of the rooms in the room, they also found a warehouse and checked, they did not find anyone even though they had spread out, he said,and their eyes clearly saw the man enter the house.

One of the assassins who opened the closet saw a glimmer of light, he peeked at the crack, apparently there was a secret room, he told all his colleagues and thirteen people in one squad it would split the task, he said,eleven people would enter the room together.

They enlarged the gap, and they opened it without a sound, eleven of the assassins entered and two of them stood guard outside.

They had entered everything, they were in an empty rusngan and they saw the door on their left.

They opened it and found the stairs down, seeing this they were reminded of the underground hiding place of the Valdis clan.

They went down the stairs with hearts, and after they had gone down the stairs, there was another door in front of them.

Suddenly a voice came from inside the room, they came closer to the door and heard some people there talking.

"Have all the intelligence units done their mission?"

There seems to be one more man whose voice is heavy, he is likely with the man who was speaking in public.

"They must have brought useful information to the king, many papers with written information about the military and the city's management system."

Hearing that, the squad chief told them to gather near the secret door with the two guards earlier, the squad chief sent one person to the capital carrying a message from the leader of his squad about enemy intelligence.

"Go to jota and tell me everything you hear" said the squad leader

"Now we're going to ambush them with quick movements, you guys get ready"

They all prepared their double daggers and their crossbow bracelets, all the complete weapons that were inside their bags and belts were available for now.

They broke down the door and poured into the room, and they quickly rushed towards the surprised man.

An assassin used shadowy steps to head to the fat man he was intending in the city earlier, and they saw the old man next to the fat man carrying a long sword.

The old man blocked the assassin heading towards his comrade with a sword slash, the assassin parried him with a dagger and was blown away by his attack.

The assassin was pushed back and advanced quickly, again he had to fend off the old man's attack, he parried and he threw the dagger in his right hand at the old man.

"Aaaarrrghh!"

The dagger stuck in his eyes, he was paralyzed and brought closer to the fat man.

"It looks like we're going to interrogate you in a rude way, to avoid that, you'd better say everything you know" the squad leader said as he pulled the dagger out of the old man's eyes

They said everything they knew, the fat man began to explain

"We were both subordinates to the leader of the Valmurg intelligence organization, we were all given a mission to research and write useful information about the Svardia kingdom, I only know that, Sumpaah! The fat man said in fear.

"You old man, what can you explain in more detail" the assassin said

The old man replied with a groan of pain "we, tasked with spreading rumors that everyone in the conquered Svardia kingdom was rebelling,and also we built defensive lines along with magic barriers in all important cities and places"

All the assassins heard everything they explained and tried to remember what they said, because they would spread and tell all the information he could to all the conquered territories.

"Tell me where your base is and when will all the intelligence gather?" Ask the team leader to interrogate

"You hear our conversation?" Said the fat man.

Immediately the dagger was plugged into his feet, he shouted and began to answer to the squad leader

"They're in the white mansion!!, located to the east, on the outskirts of the city, and as you heard earlier, they'll be gathering tonight"

The leader of the squad killed them both he said "now, our job is to write everything they say and send it to the capital, and the second task, he said,we're gonna kill all that intelligence at their base tonight"
