On a clear morning, Daniel sat on the edge of his bed, looking up at the blue sky peering through his bedroom window. His tangled black hair reflected his deep confusion. After a scandalous forbidden relationship with her stepmother, Laura, catches up to the public, her life turns to chaos. He had tried to find work in various places, but every time his CV was handed over, the incident reoccurred in the mind of the recruiter. The scandal seems to stick to him like a haunting shadow.

But today, Daniel feels different. He decides to confront his past and find a job regardless of people's prejudices. After searching around for a suitable job vacancy, her name stuck in her mind: Emilia. Emilia is her former lover, but she is also the owner of her famous family company. "Welcome to Wijaya Tbk company. Can I help you?" greet the receptionist kindly.

"thank you. I want to meet with Emilia" Daniel replied, trying to maintain calm.

"Sorry, do you have an appointment?" Ask receptionist.

"Yet. But I hope to get a chance to talk to him." Daniel said calmly.

Receptionist frowned, “I tried to contact Emilia's mother first yes sir.”

Daniel nodded his head.

The receptionist picked up the phone and started dialing some numbers, not long after. “Halo, Mother Emilia? There are guests who would like to meet you. Name's Daniel. Can I let him in?”

“Daniel? I have no appointment to meet him. Did he tell you about his goal?” Ask Emilia.

“Father Daniel just said that he wanted to meet with mom and talk about something important,” replied the Receptionist.

Emilia thought for a moment. “Alright, let him in. Tell him to wait in my waiting room.”

The receptionist smiled and replied. “Sure, Mother. I'll tell him.” The receptionist ended the phone call and looked towards Daniel. “Please come in, Mr. Daniel. Ms. Emilia will soon meet you.”

The receptionist gave Daniel an access card.

“Thank you very much.” Said Daniel.

The receptionist nodded friendly

Daniel took the elevator to the executive floor, his heart pounding. When the elevator doors opened, he saw a roomy room with a stunning view of the city from the window. The room was filled with the activities of people who were working.

Daniel saw Emilia standing at the end of the room, watching her subordinates who were working seriously. The woman looked as elegant and elegant as ever.

Emilia saw Daniel enter the room, and her expression instantly turned to delight. "Daniel? What are you doing here?" ask her happily and approach Daniel.

"I want to talk to you, Emilia," Daniel replied, trying to control his shaking voice.

"Alright, Daniel. I don't know what you want to talk about or did something happen to you or your mother?” asked Emilia worried.

Daniel took a deep breath. "Emilia, you know about the problems I've been having lately about my relationship with Laura. But I want to change my life. The scandal destroyed my job and destroyed my confidence. I came here in the hope that you would give me a chance to prove myself."

Emilia listened with mixed feelings. He pondered for a moment, then said, "Daniel, what you have done is very serious and too difficult for many to accept. However, I know you for a long time, I know you are a very good person. If you really want to change your life, you need to prove it. I'll give you a chance, but you have to prove yourself first."

Daniel felt a new spirit stirring within him. He knew this was the opportunity he was waiting for. "Thank you, Emilia. I won't let you down."

Suddenly the door of Emilia's room opened violently, there stood a middle-aged man who exuded an aura of power. He was the true owner of this great company and the father of Emilia, Abraham Vijaya.

"What are you doing here, Daniel?" abraham asked in a voice full of anger.

Daniel gulped and tried to keep his composure. "I'd like to ask Emilia for help, Om. I came to ask for a job.”

Abraham became increasingly angry and approached Daniel in a rude manner. "You dare to say that and ask Emilia for help, after what did you do with your stepmother? You will destroy our family and ruin Emilia's good name!"

Emilia tried to calm her father. “Papa, let me and Daniel talk. Pap must listen to Daniel's explanation first.”

Emilia's father glanced at his daughter with a sharp look, but eventually relented and sat down on one of the chairs in the room, but still exuded his disapproval.

Daniel took a deep breath and began his explanation with a slightly quivering voice. “I can't say my relationship with Laura was a mistake. We love each other and love each other without any intention of making a fuss like this. I came here with good intentions, wanting to improve my life and prove that I can be a better person."

Emilia's father snorted skeptically. "You think your explanation will erase all the news out there? You've done something beyond ethics, connecting with your own stepmother like a husband and wife and now you've come here trying to destroy our family's good name hoping we'll help you? What people say later.”

Daniel looked at Emilia's father with eyes full of sincerity. "I just hope Om and Emilia can give me the opportunity to work here, I promise I will do my best.”

Emilia gave her support to Daniel. "Papa, we all have mistakes. Daniel came here to improve himself. Can't we give him a chance to prove it?"

Emilia's father was silent for a moment, his eyes switching between Daniel and Emilia. The atmosphere of the room became tense, while Daniel felt his heart pounding.

"Daniel,” Abraham said in a stern voice, "if you really want to work at our family company, you have to make a decision. You must end the relationship with Laura, your stepmother, immediately and without exception."
