Under the Black Umbrella

Under the Black Umbrella
don't call me 'father' again

Handy and Ghavi went straight to the hospital after being picked up by Aswan at the airport.

" How are you?!" handy asked as soon as he reached the hospital and saw Harry sitting on the front bench his father's room was being treated.

" Today her blood pressure went up again. Father's body died next door because his brain's blood vessels broke," replied Harry softly.

" Oh!" Ghavi was suffocated to hear it.

" Why did it fall?"

Handy still tried to calm down even though her face displayed a sense of worry.

" Said mom yesterday dad complained dizzy. The moment to go to the bathroom suddenly dizzy again and fell unconscious" explained Harry.

" So from last night you kept asking. You'd better meet dad first," Harry sighed.

Handy and Ghavi enter Om Rudi's treatment room. There it appears that Aunt Rudi was waiting for him to fall asleep in a sitting position and her head was laid down in the hospital bed where her husband was lying.

" Aunty!"

Ghavi ventured to call the middle-aged woman by rubbing her shoulders.

Handy stood on the other side of the bed.

" Oh, you've arrived."

Aunt Rudi woke up to feel someone's hand rubbing his shoulder.

His face looks crumpled and pale.

" Yes, Auntie! We just got here and came straight away" Ghavi said.

" How are you, Mom?" Handy asked from across.

" So just took medicine and slept. From last night keep on getting nervous waiting for you. Maybe because he didn't sleep so his blood pressure went up again" he explained, just like Harry.

" Mom looks tired, go home! Let me wait for you."

Handy approached her mother and gently rubbed her mother's back. For some reason, the hatred he always showed his mother evaporated.

Ghavi was a little surprised to see it. Didn't Harry say Handy hated her mother so much?! The attitude and deeds that were always shown were also very cold.

But now, Handy can be gentle?? It's strange!

Ghavi remembers very well when he was in Dieng, Harry once told that Handy hated his mother because his mother left Handy and his father because his father was still poor.

For eight years Handy left her mother without any news.

However, when he was eleven years old, suddenly his mother came back with her father by guiding little Harry about eight years old.

Apparently, without Om Rudi knowing, it turns out that when the two decided to divorce, Aunt Rudi was pregnant for one month so that Harry was born without being known by Om Rudi.

The two meet again when accidentally attending a farming seminar in Dieng, where Aunt Rudi's origin is located.

From there Aunt Rudi told me if Harry was his second child. Of course at that time Om Rudi did not immediately believe hearing the story of his ex-wife.

Finally after a long debate, Om Rudi agreed to do a DNA test and only wanted to admit Harry as his second child after the test results came out.

Om Rudi also agreed when Aunt Rudi expressed her intention to refer to considering that Aunt Rudi's parents who were a barrier to their relationship had died.

A week after his second marriage, Om Rudi decided to stay at the residence of the late Aunt Rudi's parents and let his house in the capital as a halfway house once in a while when the family had a need there.

Handy, who knew her father had returned to her mother, was furious. However, little Handy was helpless against her father. He can only hold his own hatred in his heart to adulthood.

The interaction between Handy and her mother was just a formality. Om Rudi doesn't know that. Om Rudi can only resignedly see the behavior of his eldest son considering how miserable Handy used to have to live without guidance and maternal affection. In fact, little Handy is often entrusted to Ghavi's father as his best friend because he had to divide time between taking care of work and his sickly mother.

" Vi, you go home with Mom and Harry."

Handy's voice broke her daydream.

" Oh, uh, me, I'll just stay here with you. Doesn't Om Rudi want to meet us?!" refuse Ghavi a little stuttered.

" But you must be tired" Handy said.

" It's okay. I can rest on that couch if I'm tired" Ghavi insisted.

" Alright, it's up to you," Handy finally said.

Her gaze turned to her mother who was rubbing her husband's arm while occasionally yawning. A tired face is clearly visible in the bag of black eyes due to lack of sleep.

" Mom better rest at home. Let my father who jaa with Ghavi," he persuaded again after there was no response.

" Mommy, you also have to take care of your health. I don't want you to be sick from exhaustion either" Handy's plea warmed the middle-aged woman's heart.

Her tears did not flow without being asked. The sentence of the firstborn son he had wasted was now softened.

She hugged her long-missing son. During their return, they rarely communicate let alone physical contact like when with their second son.

The woman realized her mistake was unforgivable. He was only able to stare at her silently when his son occasionally returned home, because Handy chose to stay in Jogja with reasons close to his office.

" All right! Mom's going home to rest. I'm sorry, if I have to trouble you like this," Aunt Rudi finally broke up after secretly wiping away her tear marks.

" Kid Ghavi, sorry to bother you too. In order to keep his father Handy, you are willing to put aside your fatigue after the trip from Jakarta here."

Ghavi hugged as an apology and thanks.

" Yes, Auntie, it's okay! That's right sir, uh, I mean Mas Handy. Aunty does need a break," Ghavi replied back to Tanta Rudi's embrace.

Harry came in after being called Handy.

" Come, Mom, let's go home now!" bring Harry who just showed up.

" Come!" replied Aunt Rudi took her tote bag on the nightstand next to the bed.

" Mas Han, we go home first, yes," said Harry.

Handy who had been sitting in her former mother's seat nodded.

" Yes!" answer's short.

" Vi, your leave is until tomorrow. The day after tomorrow you must enter. There's an extra class to change your cut time yesterday. I've discussed it with the lecturer in question" said Harry.

" Oh, yes, Mas. Thanks for helping out so much!" sahut Ghavi nodded.

Harry turned around and left his father's hospital room following his mother who had gone out first.

" You rest first. Let my Father wait. Later we change guard," said Handy after the death of his mother and sister.

" Okay, Sir!"

Ghavi stepped onto the sofa bed opposite the bed where Om Rudi was being treated.

" From now on don't call me 'father' again" Handy ordered.

" Eh, but why?!" Ghavi.

"Itch my cheats if I have to hear your call that's changing," Handy said flatly.

" Then, what should I call you, dong."

" Whatever! The important thing is not to call 'father' again. Oh, I know!" handy Exclamation

" Call 'papa' just like when with Miss yesterday," he nosy.

" Well?!"

Ghavi.

" That's right," she later sneered.

" Don't mention the name Miss again. I am sad" said Ghavi.

" Ck, Father again," decak Handy protested.

" I'm sorry, Mom! It's a habit, anyway."

" Nah, that's better. Yeah, already, sleep! I'm sorry for reminding you of our son," he said, but he was still stuck in the face even though his face remained flat.

" Start, deh" grunted Ghavi.

He laid down his tired body after the trip. The closed eyes are quite heavy because last night lack of sleep because of the preoccupation of chatting with Liana who came home after the funeral Miss yesterday.

Not ten minutes later, the girl fell asleep.

" Hey!"

Handy smiled at Ghavi who was completely asleep.

" Ck, you bedbug! New also beds are immediately sound," his whistle shook his head.
