Unexpected Friends

Unexpected Friends
Chaptre 40. Resolutions (Last)

"Haha, do you remember?"

Unexpectedly, it turns out that Naoki still remembers my indigo strength and surprisingly knows that I summoned the ghost of the headless nun. Yes, this is all my and Enji's plan to prank Naoki.

At first my heart was very sad when I saw Naoki's other personality. Even when he kicked me out, without a second thought I immediately say goodbye. But Enji didn't just give up on me and followed.

When I was in the hospital hallway, Enji called my name and I reflexively looked up. "Please forgive Brother Naoki, he didn't mean that." He stands up for those who hurt me. Of course I don't trust him a little because my mind is still sensitive. But Enji tried to explain slowly the reason behind Naoki's rude attitude that made me rub my head because it was getting frustrating.

Just be right! Just because he wanted to get attention and be obeyed, Naoki was willing to throw away his empathy. I knew he was the OSIS representative from Akbar, but I didn't expect Naoki to actually live up to his role. "Good, brother Enji. Big brother Naoki's ego!" Enji nodded because he agreed with my words. Then he replied, "If only there was something that could make him change."

Enji's words made me create a dangerously brilliant idea. "We have to teach him a lesson." I dusty.

Finally we made an impromptu plan to create a tense situation where Naoki was forced to return his empathy and help the struggling ones.

It's risky enough because I'll use my powers again. And if it works, Enji and I will scream as if they were being chased by a ghost that actually exists. I'm not worried about Akbar not knowing this plan, because we'll give him some kind of code if this is just part of the revenge plan. It was not announced that he would also understand our intention to change Naoki back.

Finally I chanted a magic spell - Albert Einstein's motivational words - and my powers were active. But unexpectedly who came to us was a headless nurse who made me and Enji spontaneously scream loudly even though they already knew the risks.

As planned, we'll go back into the room like frightened people hunted. And pretend to be tortured by the headless ghost of the sister. But what was outside the plan was that the nurse turned out to have a terrible power that made me unable to breathe. I could have gotten rid of him as quickly as possible, but I tried to focus my strength as Naoki came and defended our 'painful'.

It sucks that he takes a few minutes to get up to his nerves. But, at least Naoki managed to help us.

"Promise or not to?" Naoki took his promise like I did before. When I heard her I laughed, but I finally gave her an answer. "Huh, you turned it around. Maybe later." The smile on his face was gone replaced by a frown. His eyes were round as if he could not believe it. Naoki is very disappointed in me.

Then he scolded me again, or rather was advised. "Yamada Alice! If I wasn't around, you almost got killed before." Whether or not you exist now has no effect. Hehe.

"Akbar whose body is large is useless. Think about it again."

"Hey! At least I'm not a coward who thinks I just helped."

A dispute between Akbar and Naoki breaks out. Leave me and Enji as spectators because we don't want to disturb their disharmonious 'familiarity.

But in the middle of this little fight, I tried to interrupt. "There's business I want to finish first." Naoki, who had been grabbing Akbar's hair with his left hand and struggling to kick Akbar's large body, paused for a moment. Along with Akbar who pinched both cheeks until reddish and then released it.

"What is Alice?" Ask Enji who is next to me. But I didn't bully him and instead walked past him out of where the four of us gathered towards the exit of the room. "Alice?" I worried them about leaving without answering a word. But I finally replied, "I want to meet an old friend."

When I looked at my exit, at the door that was still wide open I found the figure I was looking for faithfully waiting for my arrival. "I think we have a lot of things to say. Right?"

"Mandora Clementine."

I could see his black eyes behind his matching colored hair. An offended smile on her face, she gave a small nod and looked at me with the same gaze as before. That should be warm and loving, sincere from his heart without any more lies.

"It's good to see you again dear. Let's sing our song back." I will not be afraid to sing that song again. There will be no more misfortune and sorrow because of repeated tragedies. I am now stronger.

"London Bridge Is Falling Down,

Falling Down, Falling Down.

London Bridge Is Falling Down,

My Fair Lady~."

Akiko and Hana finally arrive in Sapporo after hours on the bus. And lucky for them, Minami A Hospital is only 1 and a half kilometers from the terminal so they spend approximately 10 minutes to walk.

"We've arrived." Hana slightly tidied back the jacket she was wearing when they were in front of the hospital door. For a moment, Hana looked at Akiko's face that looked uncomfortable. "Are you nervous?" Akiko who heard Hana's words suddenly flinched and pretended to tidy her hat back.

"Speak what are you? Let's go straight in." Although Hana's words turned out to be true, Akiko didn't want to look like a coward. Everything he had done up to this point was his own absolute will. So there's no reason to back off. Looking at her determined sister, Hana could not bear to let the embers of the fire go out. Then he said, "Well come on!"

After a few steps entering the hospital, Akiko and Hana felt a strange aura. It feels like something is not right, but at the same time it feels normal. Hana tries to ask her strange feelings, and Akiko gives the same answer as her. "There's something strange in this hospital."

Akiko who had experienced this before felt familiar. It didn't take him a few minutes, he finally realized it along with Hana. "Hey, Akiko-Chan, it's not like this feeling when you see 'them'."

Akiko nodded. He felt that anyone could 'open' his vision like himself. But what made her hair stand up was the aura she felt vaguely reminding her of something. "Mandora!" Akiko said in her heart. But he shook his head and dismissed the thought of thinking it was impossible for a ghost from England to travel across the continent.

But once again, he dismissed his own thinking because he remembered a piece of advice from his father. "Nothing is impossible in this world."

So he asked Hana to speed up her steps to find Alice. They walked down the aisle of the first-floor hospital without any clues and relied solely on instinct. If the aura is getting stronger, it is getting closer, Akiko thought. Until they finally met the end of the hall and found two girls talking.

Akiko asks Hana to stop walking and hide behind a nearby corner to notice them more intensely. Although Hana did not know the appearance of the two people, she complied with Akiko's request and pulled over behind the corner.

Out of curiosity, they peeked slightly behind the wall with Hana on top and Akiko on the bottom.

"I don't know if you have such an evil sister."

"Yes, I don't want you to know either."

They heard a little conversation from these two people. Akiko's heart immediately felt more broken when he heard the reality of the tragedy that had passed was the deliberate appearance of an evil spirit.

But now there is no point in blaming back what has passed. All he can do now is fix the present.

"Akiko, spirit!" The support from Hana makes Akiko have the courage to get out of her place. Inwardly, he tried to calm himself down even until the figures of the two girls looked towards him.

He did not think of all the words, his heart was broken. Calm down, is a spell that he chanted a few times. Until he can finally raise his head back and stare at the girl who now only one remains. He thought about what reaction Alice would reveal. Confused, angry, or indifferent?

After a long silence, Alice suddenly turned her back on Akiko as if she had not seen him. Though disappointed, Akiko tried to understand him. There was no way Alice could accept this shocking reality. It is better to think of each other as strangers.

"Then why don't you say hello to each other?"

Mandora's words suddenly made Akiko feel dulled. Of course he should say hello to Alice. But his mouth was like being silenced. Difficult words came out from her lips, even looking at her alone made her tremble due to her reaction.

What's he gonna do? Inner Akiko.

Unexpectedly after Mandora's words were thrown, Alice ran towards him and surprisingly hugged him tightly. "O-Okaa-san, don't be mad at me anymore."

"I miss you."

Suddenly a cry broke out between the two. Regrets for the mistakes they made before were revealed. All pain and suffering come together as one. Apologies and forgiving are delivered. Tears fell with many emotions filling it.

At that time, Hana and Mandora became witnesses to this poignant meeting. When looking, they jump at each other's thoughts. But the point remains the same, they are happy because all ended with old wounds that were treated.

Everything went well. My relationship with Mandora and Okaa-san is recovering as usual. Plus the gratitude that was with me because it turned out that the effects of the sleeping pills that poisoned Eliz and Fumika had disappeared so they quickly awakened.

We can also get out of the hospital. But for safety reasons, we were not allowed to go back to the dorm so Eliz and I had to stay at Hana's aunt's house in Ishikari, fumika is sent back to her father who happens to be on guard in Sapporo.

It did not feel like even today was coming, the day I would bear witness to the crime of my principal. At first I was also amazed why the trial was conducted in a large-scale. It turns out that because most of Mr. Hideyoshi's family was accused of being criminals and got their respective trials so that each day is divided into 3 sessions lasting a week more specifically for the family.

This is a family tradition. Haha! But if it's really ironic.

Thursday 16 July. At 13:55

Right now I was waiting at the front door of the trial while holding back my nervousness in the provided me.

"First time to court, huh?" Fumika guess is on target. I let out a rough sigh in front of him while letting my body relax.

"I'm curious about it in person!" Unlike me who felt uncomfortable, Eliz even showed interest. I just rolled my eyes lazily while thinking of something that could calm me down.

"Hey, Mellow Queen. Don't stoop on~" The presence of Naoki who suddenly came out of nowhere surprised me. He squatted down in front of me while he rested one of his arms to hold the face that was now still covered in bandages.

But it did not cover her sweet smile. I returned his smile. But I forgot that the friends who were by my side could see it and ended up playing me, again. And there was no need to hide, I could hear their laughter.

I tried to distract myself by saying, "Shut up! You're the one and only Mellow Prince." Hope they change the subject. But it's a trap for me. "The one and only for Alice~" Eliz's words made my blood boil straight to the brain. Even though I told you to shut up, they still laughed.

But it finally stopped as Naoki surprisingly shouted, "Shut up." Short, solid, and full of emphasis. The atmosphere suddenly turned heavy and gripping. Me, Eliz, and Fumika became astonished because Naoki was no longer a ghost, but he seemed to have the power to reverse the atmosphere. "Hehe, sorry. Old habits."

Really, you scared us out of Naoki Furugawa. And don't make it easy for you to laugh as if we won't be traumatized by your other side. "Basic freak." I muttered softly, but Naoki could hear it and gave me a killer look.

"Remember! You promised you wouldn't scold me again." Upon hearing my words, Naoki sighed harshly. Then replied, "Hi hi, Wakarimasu."

Suddenly Fumika's father and his partner came closer to us. He said it was time for us to come in. Although it feels heavy because Enji and Akbar seem to be late on the way here, the trial still has to go. With or without them, we keep entering the courtroom and determine the seating of each.

Briefly, it was all started by greetings from some people who seemed to be considered important to the trial. Then the judge mentioned all the crimes that Mr. Hideyoshi, Mr. Tanaka, and Anzu committed.

There was a time when the room suddenly became noisy so the judge was forced to intervene to calm the atmosphere. The defendants were given the opportunity to defend with the help of their respective lawyers.

But the poor Anzu had to accept all the accusations outright because no one defended him. For a moment I became a little bit sympathetic to him even though I wanted to be killed by him.

"Do you have any proof Mr Sato did it?" What's that lawyer talking about? Of course there is. I'm living proof that saw him poison my friend and want to kill me. I want to shout at his haughty remarks that's all my testimony. But Fumika and Eliz held me back from being patient.

"Look, the witness who saw it was only one person. Then all your accusations are false." Again, his snobbish tone fed me up. It turned out that it was not just me, the prosecutor who was nearby was arguing. All their talk can't get into my brain. That sounds like a broken tape.

But luckily the time allotted was up so this debate was over. Then my friends and I were called one by one to testify. Until it was my turn to testify.

I went forward, all eyes looking at me. But I kept walking forward until I was in front of Atlar. "Yamada Alice, please explain who attacked you exactly." I try to answer the judge's questions as best I can. Then I was asked questions again, again, and again until I was bored. At its core, it's just going around in circles.

"Judge! I doubt the testimony of Yamada Alice." The statement from Mr. Sato's lawyer interrupted my speech. In my heart I tried to hold back my frustration because my testimony was considered dubious. If it means nothing, I will answer this swirling question.

"Yamada Alice has Schizophrenia and so does not deserve testimony. It's medical tape evidence from the RSJ in the UK." My blood is boiling, my eyebrows are clinging and my veins are as they seem. I can't control the anger that's holding me.

How dare the man show evidence of my false disease to everyone. I know the tape brought Okaa-san a disaster!

"That's fake!" I tried to defend, so there was a long argument with the lawyer. The judge who was fed up with our nonsense asked me to return to the bench without being able to comment again.

But my last words let me last longer. "What if I prove that I'm still sane?" I heard a laugh from some of the people around me. But strangely when I saw Mr. Hideyoshi and Anzu, they fell silent like statues. Of course because they themselves have seen the 'evidence.

"If you can see the same thing as me, that means all my testimony is true." My daughter who made the judge raise one eye eyebrow was curious. "Alright, try to prove it."

I can hear Okaa-san yelling my name. But I stayed in my stance. I will bring you the truth and make you pay for all your sins!

"The mission of Hokkaido 45 High School is to educate and create the commendable character of the nation's children who are in our supervision, with the motto ofYoi Kibou(Good Hope) as the runway of their spirit."

I relayed a portion of the school Mission that I remember and made everyone frown. Maybe some of them laughed at me in the back. But for those who knew, they fell silent while waiting for what would happen.

"Hideyoshi Sato?" An old man came to Mr. Hideyoshi in front of his face so he gasped in shock. Along with that, many other figures attended this room and filled every single desolate reproach.

It didn't take me long before I heard a scream and a roar from the people behind me. Even the lawyer who had previously underestimated me became bowed in his fear. "So, can you see what I see?"

Now it's my turn to stand up and brag about what people are so bad about. What they usually doubt in me.

"You all have shamed the good name of ancestor Sato!"
