14. Clumsy, Confused, and Panic
As Erich had said before, he would be following all the activities that Vioni was doing today. Since the two of them left the boutique, Vioni invites Erich to have lunch together so that the man will go home first and let him go alone. However, in reality after their lunch, Erich did not at all move far from beside Vioni.
"Sister, are you going to keep following me?" vioni asked in annoyance. He had already delayed his meeting with Doctor Bryan in order to distract Erich, but in the end the man did not move far away from him.
"Yes. Didn't I say that? Let me repeat, today I will follow all your activities until tonight. So, you don't have to be afraid of something bad happening to you because there will always be me protecting you" the man said with a warm smile to his sister.
Vioni was moved by Erich's words, but today she had no free time to play with her first brother. So, Vioni was disturbed by his presence.
"But, Kak–"
"I will reject your refusal, Vio. I had promised from Surabaya first, that today I would be your bodyguard," Erich broke up firmly to make Vioni sigh violently.
"Sister, you're outrageous" he growled.
"I don't feel like I've done anything outrageous to my sister. After all, hasn't Vanila always been getting the same treatment as Dad and Mom? Then, what about you?"
Vioni lowered her head. Yes, it is true that Vanila always get care from father and mother because she is their favorite daughter. In addition, Clifford and Rosa did so out of concern that Vanila would faint due to her weak body. Unlike him who is always considered healthy by both their parents.
"I'm not Vanilla who has a weak body, brother. I'm a healthy girl. So I don't need to be guarded like that" said Vioni with a faint smile. He really did not like the question Erich asked him.
The man's face suddenly flattened after hearing the answer from his younger sister. How could Vioni say that while yesterday he had suddenly fainted with a face that paled like an undead? erich asked in his heart as he recalled how to tell Vioni's condition a few days ago.
"Vio, what made you refuse my attention? If you can't accept Dad and Mom, at least please don't equate me with them. I care so much about you and I really want to see you smile happily like you used to" Erich said in a low voice and tone. Of course it made Vioni's heart feel a little bad.
"Sister, I have no reason to refuse your attention. It's just–" I don't want to worry you about my current condition. Of course that last word was not said directly by Vioni to Erich.
"Why don't you continue what you said?" erich asked as he saw his sister looking down.
"Nothing" said Vioni with lips that reviewed a thin smile.
Erich grunted in annoyance. Again such facial expressions were shown by Vioni to him.
"Well, if you don't have any secrets, let me accompany you today" Erich said firmly as he stood up from his seat and reached out right in front of Vioni.
"Come on!"
It's up to him that I don't care if Erich knows my illness, his inner self.
"Now, tell me where you're going? I'll deliver it!" exclaimed Erich who was satisfied because Vioni no longer denied her existence.
"Take me to the hospital!"
"Yes? A–apa? Why do we have to go to the hospital?" erich asked surprised at his sister's request. In fact, he thought that Vioni would meet another man who might be his lover, but it was unexpected when he heard Vioni's request that he go to the hospital.
"Why?" vioni asked as she looked at her brother's surprised-looking facial expression.
"Wait, does your love now work in the hospital? Is he a specialist or a general practitioner?"
"Huh? A lover?" Vioni just did not understand the direction of the conversation from her first brother.
"Yes, sweetheart, what's wrong? Why are you such a person who doesn't understand the direction of my conversation?"
"Of course I don't understand what you mean, brother. I didn't go to the hospital to see my girlfriend. I have never had a boyfriend before either. Then, why are you asking me about my lover?"
Erich scratched the back of his head. "I thought you refused to be ushered in by me because you were going to meet a man before your wedding day tomorrow, but it turned out that my guess was wrong" she said regretfully.
Both of Vioni's brows seemed to wrinkle after hearing her brother's remark.
"What do you think of me, brother? How could you think I'd see another man before my wedding day tomorrow?" ask Vioni wonder.
"Ummm .. maybe it's my fault because I trust what Vanila and Mom say that you always make men your escape object for the heartache you've been feeling all along."
This time Vioni's eyes were perfectly rounded after hearing Erich's words. Moreover, the man also said that he heard the news from Vanila and his mother, Rosa.
How could you say such a bad thing about me to Brother? Perhaps if such news were only spoken by Vanilla, I could tell him. But ... This is Mom. He said such a bad thing about his own daughter, the inner girl with tightly clenched hands. The heartache she received from her parents.
"Sister, it seems like it's better today Brother went home to Father and Mother's mansion. I'm also going home to Om and Auntie." Vioni stepped first and left Erich who was still standing in his place.
Very unheard of them. What exactly makes them able to vilify me like this?
