48. "Mother's sick?"

After returning home from the office, Flova cleaned up her clothes and also Alena's clothes. Alena could only shut up because she understood that Flova was angry with Kai.

"Mother, where are we going?" ask Alena who is being held by Flova.

"We're going to grandma's house now. I don't like us." replied Flova.

"Mother, I'll be worried if we just leave" Alena said worriedly.

"Don't call dad to him again. He's not a good father to Alena."

"No! Not want!"

Alena cried and then Flova painstakingly carried her while gnawing at the luggage of the two of them. They get straight into the taxi that Flova ordered and dart away from Kai's house.

Ms. Flova was confused to see Flova who came during the day while carrying two suitcases that she held. Flova's mother helps her carry the sleeping Alena.

"Loh. loh.. What's up?" ask the mother confused.

"We're planning to stay over, Mom. I miss mom's cooking." said Flova.

"All right, just sit down first. I'm taking Alena inside."

Flova nodded and pushed her suitcase into the room. Afterwards, he chose to take water for him to drink and immediately sat on the sofa. Mother Flova hurriedly walked up to him and sat down beside him.

"What's really going on? Tell mom." ask mom.

Flova let out a long sigh and looked around.

"Look Mom, Alena fucked Rosan by giving a cockroach toy in Rosan's drink. He was shocked and fell. Kai gets angry and says Alena has no manners. He also scolded her just like that, I don't take it." Flova said briefly.

"Mom understands your feelings. Just stay here and wait for Kai to come pick you up tonight or not. Because the mother also does not know, she is being hit by emotions or feelings that make her mood bad. Go and rest."

Flova nodded and held her mother's hand. The mother got up and left him in his place while looking at the clock on the wall of his mother's house.

Until almost midnight, Kai did not come home. Alena waited in the dining room while tapping on the table as her headrest. Fleva let out a long sigh and tried to persuade Alena to finish her meal.

"Come, finish the food. If it's over, then the mother's smart child." persuaded Flova.

Alena simply shook her head and looked towards Flova who was lifting her food.

"Mother, Alena must have done very wrong to Aunt Rosan. So, I was angry and didn't go home" Alena said with a sad look.

"Engga darling.. Tomorrow I'll be home. Alena's got to finish her food and not get sick."

Flova pointed the spoon towards Alena's mouth but she pushed it slowly.

"Irena.."

The mother then just held onto the shoulder of Flova who would be angry. He quickly sighed and lowered the still-filled spoon he was holding.

"Alena may be full. Never mind, don't force him."

Flova nodded and put Alena's plate. He washed it and put it in its place.

"Mom, I have to finish the thesis. I'll go into the room first. Put Alena to bed if she's sleepy, ma'am."

"All right."

Flova went straight into her room and opened her laptop which she was carrying. He massaged his temple for a while, and tried to refocus on his laptop.

...*****...

The next day he woke up in his bed. He looked around confused. He sat down and thought a lot while collecting his life. He came out of his room while massaging his temple again. He was a little surprised to see Alena was ready to wear school clothes complete with a happy mood.

"Mother. let's have breakfast."

"Dear.." Flova nodded and walked limply towards the dining table.

"Hacchhuu..." Flova sneezed as she sat down. He sat down next to Alena and prepared breakfast for her.

"Mother's sick?" alena asked while looking at him worriedly.

"No, you just sneezed" Fleva replied.

"You look a little pale, Flova. Right, you're fine. Let mom take him to school later." said the mother Flova.

"No need Mom. I'm really fine. You guys don't worry. Let's have breakfast, you'll take you to school today."

Alena nodded vigorously and devoured the sandwich heavily. Flova also ate it little by little.

"Grandma, it's so fresh." praised Alena.

"Hehem. the vegetables in the sandwich that Alena ate, Grandma picked up from the garden directly. So, the taste of the vegetables is very fresh if eaten directly." replied the wise from the mother of Flova.

"Wah. great grandma. Please make me stock up, Grandma."

"Hem. okay."

Flova who had just listened, finally spoke.

Flova's mother smiled and looked towards Alena while stroking her.

"Alena will explain it on the way later. Get ready to take her to school. It's noon, you'll be out of time to hear Mom's story."

Flova let out a long breath. First, he picked up his bag and waited for the taxi he ordered to take them to school.

"Actually, what happened to Alena?" ask Flova curious.

"Dad came last night. He intended to pick us up, but you're asleep in the room, so you're staying at Grandma's."

Flova's eyes widened to hear the short story that Alena was coming out of her small mouth.

"Kai's coming over tonight?" inner Flova.

"Where's the father sleeping?" ask Flova again.

"Of course with Mother. Grandma's house has only two rooms, right?"

Flova gaped in disbelief at what she heard. So they don't realize they've reached Alena's school.

"Hacchhuu..." Fleva sneezed again after paying for the taxi he was riding in. Alena looked at it with detail towards Flova.

"Mother is fine, isn't she? Mother looks pale even though mother has worn a face decoration."

"Ah. mother is okay dear. Alena just go in and study hard ya." replied Flova lying.

"Alright mother. Uh.."

Flova waved her hand and tried to keep smiling. Until, he felt Alena had gone inside, he also let out a long breath while massaging his temple.

"I'm sorry, Mother Alena. Mother doesn't want you to worry. Although since yesterday, mother is not okay." murmured in her mind.

Not long after, Kevin came to school. Right in front of him, Kevin greeted Flova.

"Flova, are you alone?" ask Kevin while looking around.

"Yes, I'm alone. I have to leave first." said Flova.

"Wait for Flova, can we talk to you for a second?" kevin asked, holding his shoulder.

"You must teach." he answered.

"There's still time until 8."

Flova could no longer resist and chose to agree to it. Kevin asks her to speak in the back garden of the school.

"There's actually something strange between you and Kai. Are you guys all right? When I talk about it you look unhappy.

Flova just fell silent while looking down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interfere in your household affairs Flova."

Flova raised her face and smiled forcefully at Kevin.

"Kevin, if I had to be honest, I'd say that this marriage is fake. We didn't really do the wedding and it was just to cover my debt to her and to her who wanted to get her."

Kevin was so shocked and could not believe what Flova had told him.

"What debt do you have to pay for it?" asked Kevin curiously.

"For this necklace, the house and also the play in front of Evelin and Wildan at the time of his engagement." replied Flova with a bow.

Kevin holds both shoulders and sees them inside."You should have told me this earlier with Flova, I'd be happy to help you."

Flova brushed both of Kevin's hands off her shoulders and shook her head. "I have to trouble you too. I am the fool and I have to endure it. So, I can't think of anything other than doing it."

Kevin held onto Flova's warm hand.

"Flova. you.."

Flova shook Kevin's hand and stood up from her seat.

"I have to go Kevin."

Just a few steps Flova left Kevin. Suddenly his sight blurred. Kevin who saw Flova staggering quickly caught Flova's body. He held her hot, panicked cheek.

"He's feverish. I'll take him to the hospital."

He just carried her and took her to the parking lot. A few confused teachers approached him.

"Who is he?" ask one of the female teachers.

"She's Alena's mother. He has a high fever, I'll take him to the hospital. I'll be absent today. Don't say anything to Alena for this. I'll take care of it later."

The teacher nodded and helped him open the door. He quickly left the children's park.
