CHAPTER IX - Rina Decree (3)

Returning home from her in-laws' house, Rina did not head straight to the house. Instead, he decided to stop at the city park and take a short walk there. He chose a seat that led to the playground, which at that time turned out to be quite a lot of young mothers who drove their children to play.

Lina looked at her ring finger which was circled by the two rings from her husband. He rubbed the two rings with affection. He almost never let go, unless he was forced to or when cleaned. Although the shape is simple and not special, but the 2 objects are a sign that she has been tied to her husband. Suddenly his tears fell soaking his two rings that seemed to be gleaming in the sunlight.

Closing her eyes, Rina finally realized that it was true that only she felt attached to her husband. Chris from the beginning never thought of him as his life partner. From the beginning, her husband never used the same ring as Lina. Even before marriage, Chris never intended to buy a ring for himself as a sign of his bond with Rina.

Trying to toughen up, Rina rubbed both her wet cheeks and smiled slightly. It is true, said his father-in-law, the wound made by Chris is actually still curable and will disappear over time. But the problem is, currently struggling alone in a ship that is adrift only 1 person. If the others decide to plunge into the sea and leave the ship, in the end the ship will sink and even sink and bring destruction to the people who are on it.

At this moment, Lina had already decided. He felt that his struggle had been enough, and he no longer wanted to spend his time doing things that would forever be in vain. He is still alive, and still able to survive despite being abandoned by his loved ones. Now the decision is in the hands of her husband, whether he wants to try to fight for his relationship with his wife or to let her go. But Rina was not willing to wait, she did not want to be shackled by the past and hurt herself. He will try to move forward and forget his past.

When he woke up from his seat, suddenly he saw the ball rolling touching his sneakers. Grabbing the ball, Rina comes face to face with a small man with round eyes. The boy looked timidly at her, and alternately stared at Lina and at her ball. His little legs were seen back and forth, hesitating whether he would return to the park empty-handed or still try to take the ball away from the stranger.

With a small laugh, Lina held out her ball to the boy. "Hello."

"Andri!"

Suddenly, a young woman approached them and grabbed the child to get closer to her. Seen in one of his hands a stock box that may be left behind, and he just took from his car. His face looks worried.

Friendly, Lina explained. "Hello, this looks like the ball. It fell near my feet."

Hearing the soothing explanation, the mother finally smiled kindly and immediately reprimanded her child.

"An, did mama say. Wait near the swing, why are you running around?"

The child who seemed to be a little wayward, flicked his lips under him and replied. "The old mama. Andri will play with them."

Lina who chuckled made the young mother finally not become angry. He rubbed his son's head with love.

"Yes, say thank you to auntie."

Revealing his dated wisdom teeth, the child smiled broadly while taking the ball cheerfully. "Thank you auntie!"

After the mother and child left her, Rina moved to her car. Arriving in the car, he suddenly remembered something important and his face turned a little pale. With his heart pounding, he drove his car to the hospital.

Chris sighed and leaned his body into the chair. He began to rub his eyes with a tired feeling. Chris is in a dilemma situation, his rational brain still considers Rina as a materialistic woman, considering that since the beginning his wife has honestly said her goal is to marry him. The thing is, his heart said something else. Rina's treatment of him all along, made Chris start to feel attracted to his wife and it scared him.

The shadow of the affair carried out by his father really stuck in his heart. At that moment, he saw his mother was devastated and almost decided to commit suicide. Events involving both of his loved ones make Chris have to choose, and he chooses his mother. For years Chris hated his father and he was able and willing to understand and accept his reasons when he grew up.

Although in the end forgive his father, especially in the end his father separated from his second partner, but did not make Chris forget the incident. Even as his father breathed his last breath, what Chris heard coming out of his father's mouth was an apology to his son. His father clasped his hand tightly at that moment and shed his tears. He only saw everything black-and-white, especially the women around him were not much different from the typical affair of his father before. Rina's sudden presence in her life leaves Chris unprepared for her. The figure of his wife is much different from the women around him, making Chris confused when to interact with him. This makes him often say things that he does not really mean. Only when he had enough courage to want to try to go further did his wife blur the words.

"Boss."

Rich who enters his room cuts off Chris' daydream. Some days it was Rich who came to Chris' apartment and got him a shirt. Today, he plans to return to Chris' house to pick up his clothes for the afternoon trip.

"Boss, I'm going to the apartment again this afternoon. You want to take something?"

Chris decided to meet his wife after he returned from out of town later, and after a clearer mind. He did not want to take any hasty steps, which if he thought back now, was the stupidest decision he had ever made in his life.
