CHAPTER XXII - Doubt of Rina

That day, they spent time in the bedroom. The two had taken another bath for the third time that day, before Rina finally told Chris to put on her shirt, preventing the two from losing control again.

When Chris stood up to wear his shirt, Rina reached under her husband's pillow to look for something but did not find it.

Slightly panicked, he lifted the pillow and reached into the contents. Where the hell is that thing?

His eyes swept around the room anxiously, trying to remember the last place he put it.

Suddenly he was faced with a worn shirt proffered in front of his face.

"Searching this?"

The woman glared at her husband and was unable to snatch the object from Chris's hand.

"Give Chris back!"

"Why?"

"That's mine!"

"Your sound?" Her husband's eyebrows shot up, looking mocking.

Rina remained silent. She would be embarrassed enough to be caught taking her husband's belongings without his permission.

"Yes. Mine. Why why?" There's no way Chris remembers that ugly shirt, right?

"Are you sure this is yours, Rina?" Husband approaching.

Lina felt her face start to heat up. She knew her husband knew. Goddamnit!

"This shirt already stinks of Rina. And ugly."

Her husband threw the shirt at the end of the room. Rina looked at the lump of cloth with a sad feeling. At least it was the t-shirt that treated her longing for her husband.

Chris took both of Rina's hands and wrapped them around her own waist. The man held both of his wife's shoulders.

"That's just Rin's thing. But I'm right here. You just have to hug me, without having to ask for it." Her husband smiled at her.

Hearing that, Lina laughed a little. She placed her head on her husband's chest while sighing deeply.

"You're right."

After a moment of silence, Chris suddenly slipped from behind his wife's hair.

"But you have to keep washing it. Because it's my favorite nightgown."

The woman pulled her husband's hair to face him. Quickly, she kissed her husband's lips before hugging him tightly back.

"Yes-yes, I'll wash it. But now, hug me first."

Chuckles, Chris complies with his wife's request with pleasure.

Remembering something, Chris also broke away from his wife. "Attent."

Rina sat on the bed, watching her husband reach into something in his suit pocket.

Her husband sat down right in bed and stretched out his hand, revealing 2 rings that previously belonged to his wife.

"I want to give this back to you."

Steadily, he took his wife's hand and prepared to insert the rings back into her fingers.

"Wait for Chris."

Rina's sudden statement made Chris peck in his place. The man looked at his wife, wondering.

"Why?"

Chris' heart started to beat. He felt an unpleasant feeling.

The woman took the rings from Chris' hand and held them tightly. He lowered.

"I'll keep it. But, please give me Chris' time."

Chris got out of bed. He pulled back until he hit the closet behind him.

Lina did not expect her husband would give such a reaction.

"Chris..."

"Why Rin?"

Her husband's eyes were red. The man began to feel his struggle was in vain.

"Have you not forgiven me?"

Surprised, Lina shook her head strongly. "It's not so Chris. I just-"

"What do I need to do so you can forgive me?"

The man turned his head to the side. Face reddened.

"Do I have to die first and you will forgive me?"

Hearing her, Rina bellowed furiously, "Chris!"

"I don't like you talking about death that easily. Never say it so carelessly again!"

Realizing that he was starting to lose control, Chris lowered his head to close his eyes.

"Sorry."

"I'm just asking for a little time from you Chris. Let me think about this carefully. You want to wait, right?"

The man fell silent. To be honest, he would never be able to wait. He needed his wife by his side. At present. Nowow. Later and later.

Feeling that he would not be able to control his emotions anymore, the man decided to get out of the room after taking his suit violently.

"Chris, where are you going?"

"I'd better go home."

Without looking, the man came out of the room and closed the door.

Lina was completely shocked by her husband's reaction. He never thought if Chris would give such a strong reaction. Has he made a mistake?

After realizing her surprise, Rina immediately came out of the room to find her husband. He should apologize to the man.

Arriving in the front room, the woman intercepted Chris who was stepping foot towards the taxi he ordered. She held the arm of her husband who was about to open the taxi door.

"Wait for Chris."

The man clasped his wife's hand tightly and gently removed it from her arm.

Still holding his wife's hand, the man said, "You think carefully. I won't force you. I'll accept whatever you decide."

After that, the man got into the taxi and left himself still sculpting.

While in the taxi, Chris closed his eyes with his hand. Preventing water from starting out of the corner of his eye.

He no longer knows what to do. He really did not know how to get his wife back to him.

Right now, for the first time Chris really felt despair in his life.

Throughout the rest of the day, Rina tried to contact her husband but always got into voice mail. Chris was avoiding him.

Exhaling loudly, the woman sat down on the sofa. Though she and her husband had just made up and started to enjoy each other's existence. Why is it like this?

Rina turned her head up, leaning towards the head of the sofa. If she wanted to follow her heart, she would go back to her husband. He still loves that man. And it will never change.

But, Lina really did not know about her husband's feelings for her. For all she knew, her husband was attracted to her physically. And he enjoyed it too. But is that enough to sustain a marriage?

His first failure, made Rina not confident to return to Chris. Especially since she had also started to accept the fact that her husband had absolutely no feelings for her. He might even hate himself.

What if Chris got bored of her, and started glancing at other women who were more beautiful than her. Moreover, he knew, Chris' high-class social circle and jet set, allowing the man to meet a phenomenal woman from his own circles.

She was just an ordinary woman, from the ordinary. She may be able to compete with other women in terms of intelligence and insight, but for physical and background problems?

Especially considering her husband who has above-average characteristics, not only from the physical side of the beautiful, but she is also a successful and comes from the upper class. Not just anyone. While her? She who?

Lina really did not want to feel abandoned anymore. Her husband had intended to leave her first. He may not be able to live again, until that happens.

Means he'll be deep into the same hole 2x. Right now, he could still crawl up and get up. But if he falls again? Lina wasn't sure she would be able to stand up again.

The woman was completely confused by her own feelings. That night, she tries to re-think the things that were the basis of her marriage to Chris. Trying to find answers to his worries, so that he can make a decision later.

Rina tried to strengthen herself to think logically and not use her emotions. Especially since right now, he was also responsible for the fate of one life.

At the time, Chris was on a plane with Rich. He suddenly gets a call from his assistant that they have to meet one of the outside investors who again ask for an explanation from the previous case.

As the owner of the company, Chris is obliged to give certainty to them that the capital they provide remains safe, not affected at all by the case.

Right now, Chris has to gather his sanity so that he can think clearly when facing them. He really had to struggle to put aside his personal feelings for a while. His face looks crumpled now.

"I'm sorry boss."

Rich felt guilty to his superiors for this sudden notice.

"It's okay, Rich."

"But Rina-"

"Mother Rina, Rich."

Rich raised his eyebrows. Quite surprised by this change. But he smiled.

"Yes, I mean, is Rina's mom okay?"

"Rina will understand."

To be honest, he still did not want to communicate with his wife first. He wanted the two of them to think more clearly later when they met.

"Rina will understand."

Slowly, to himself. Lina would understand that I love her.

Rich's brows furrowed, but the man decided not to say anything.

Chris also switched the conversation about things they would discuss with investors. Rich also issued various documents, which could strengthen their arguments later.

Their nearly 10-hour journey, the two men spent preparing various data, to ensure that their meeting would run smoothly.

The pair, who are separated between continents, are now faced with a choice. Will they stay together or decide to separate.

The real choice is easy, but made difficult by both.

Because for sure, without realizing it, the two actually already have the same feeling but until now, no one has dared to express it.
