Warlord of the Xili Kingdom

Warlord of the Xili Kingdom
Wounded

It had been eight days, Zhaoling and Xin'er were drifting away from each other. Ever since the last time they chatted on the mountain back then, Xin'er asked not to see each other again.

He did not want to make the Third Prince sad, just because the Queen Mother hated him and wanted to get rid of him from the Palace. Although to be honest, Xin'er's heart was very sick. But, deep down, she felt sorry for her husband.

Prince Zhaozu suffered even more inside the Palace. All this time, he bore the hatred of everyone just by himself. No one really loved him except his mother. If Xin'er were to abandon herself, what would be the fate of the Third Prince?

"I'm sorry, Aling. I'm married, it's inappropriate to go with someone other than my husband! So please don't make me turn my back on my husband! Although she was far from perfect, she was very kind to me." Xin'er said after wiping off her tear marks.

Zhaoling was glued and silent hearing Xin'er's words. Between happy and sad. Happy because, it turns out that his wife still remembers and chooses himself over other men, despite knowing that he has many shortcomings. Sad because, Xin'er tried hard to survive in the Palace that always torments her inner.

"Alright, Xin'er! If it's your decision, then I won't bother you anymore!" sahut Zhaoling. "I promise to stay away from you as long as it makes you happy. But remember, if you give me a little gap, then I make sure I never let you go no matter what!" zhaoling again.

They separated after the day was light. The two returned to the Palace separately, taking different paths. Although Xin'er was quite disappointed, but this was her decision and she should not regret anything anymore.

Unbeknownst to Xin'er, Zhaoling kept a close eye on his wife's move home to survive until Palace. He didn't want anything to happen to his wife while on the road.

Xin'er returned to Zhoseng Palace to rest, because she had not slept all night and was only training with Zhaoling on the mountain behind the Palace. His body was currently so tired, yet he kept thinking about the cold man's words as he hugged him.

'Come with me!'

"Aarrgggh," Really, Xin'er's thoughts are currently unfavorable. Given all the ill-treatment the people inside the Palace had on him, it made him want to go and agree to Zhaoling's invitation. But his heart said no. After all, she had married and it was inappropriate for a married woman to go with another man. Moreover, Prince Zhaozu was in dire need of support and zeal from him. Xin'er.

Seeing her Miss being sad, the two servants simply left Xin'er alone without daring to interfere. They wouldn't ask if it wasn't her Miss who said it herself. Because, both of them were sure that Xin'er would tell him after she calmed down again.

Currently, Xin'er was only alone inside the room with no one accompanying her. His body trembled along with the rise and fall of both shoulders. Yeah, she's crying. I don't know what Xin'er is dealing with right now, which must have something to do with her feelings for the Third Prince or Zhaoling.

Already satisfied with crying, the girl laid her body on the bed by hugging the bolster. Long enough awake, finally Xin'er's eyes closed along with the sound of a smooth snoring. He did not realize that someone had entered the room and followed up to hug his body from behind.

He kissed her deeply the scent of Xin'er's body while giving her a kiss of affection. He deeply regretted his actions that hurt and played with his wife's feelings. However, what can be done, if at this time there is nothing Zhaoling can do. Although his heart wanted to say the honesty, but his lips felt faint when dealing with his wife.

To be honest, Zhaoling was extremely afraid of something that had yet to happen. Afraid that Xin'er would hate him. But, if that honesty is revealed, Zhaoling will lose everyone he loves forever. Because, his enemy is still wandering out there without being known by him.

"I'm sorry, Xin'er. I'm doing this to keep you safe from harm. Maybe, I really am a coward," said Zhaoling as he clutched his wife's body. "Wait until the time comes, baby. I promise, after this we will live a quiet and happy life. After this, no one will bother you anymore in the Palace!" he said again with the smallest voice possible, so as not to disturb his wife's sleep.

Zhaoling caught up with Xin'er entering into the dreamland while continuing to embrace her.

After the events of that day, Zhaoling completely disappeared and there was only the Third Prince. The Warlord announced his departure towards the city's borders to repel the bandits. But actually, he was beside Xin'er and was carrying out the role of the Third Prince with a feeling of pleasure.

Every day, he continued to spit on his wife. But, the attitude that Xin'er showed was different from what she was told at that time. Xin'er said that she would not accept any man other than her husband, but in reality she would not be touched by Prince Zhaozu even if it was just her hand.

Xin'er looked like she was moving away and keeping her husband at a distance. He daydreamed more alone in the garden without the company of Mengshu or Yuelie. The girl seemed to be thinking of something.

Whatisit?

Curiosity began to approach Prince Zhaozu when his wife was always pensive for no reason. He tried to speak carefully to ask about this, but Xin'er seemed to avoid answering his question.

"Xin 'er. What's wrong?" the girl immediately looked.

"You mean?"

Xin'er flinched because, the question from Zhaozu deeply poked him down. She told Zhaoling to accept her husband wholeheartedly, even though he had many shortcomings. But in reality, she did not even want to be touched by her husband.

"Sorry!" xin'er said sincerely. His heart and lips were not in line. His lips said yes, but his heart said no. His current feelings were split between Zhaozu and Zhaoling. Third Prince and Warlord.

The Third Prince pensively momentarily. I don't know what he's thinking at the moment, because his face looks so riled up. 'Could Xin'er have known everything? But, if he had known, he wouldn't have survived here!' inner Prince guessed.

Now, Zhaoling's mind went awry. Guilt continued to dominate him to do something. Yes, he had to do something for Xin'er to understand.

"Xin 'er. Honestly, I feel like you're moving away from me. I know that I have a lot of flaws. But I've been trying to make you happy. But apparently, it's not enough for you. So, from today on I will not interfere anymore and will keep your distance. Live in the Palace well" the Prince suddenly said.

After saying that, the Prince got up from his seat and stepped out of the room. He left without even turning his head towards Xin'er. It was enough for him to make his wife miserable. The Third Prince knew himself enough and he decided to make room for Xin'er to think. With this, hopefully Xin'er can change back.

Xin'er simply stared at that wide back until it disappeared behind the door, with no intention of stopping it. He himself was still confused by his feelings at this moment. Maybe he needs time to himself.

Two days passed, the Third Prince did not return to his residence, making Xin'er worried. At first, he thought that if the Third Prince intended to give him space it would be to not greet him. But, he was wrong. The Third Prince did not return to the Palace.

"Where are you, Prince?" xin'er's heart was currently becoming anxious. He regretted not stopping him from leaving yesterday.

For the first time, Xin'er felt a restless feeling like this. All the confidants had been deployed to search, but no one knew of the Prince's whereabouts. Although he tried to find, but he acted secretly. He didn't want anyone to take advantage of the Prince's absence in the Palace.

Just as Xin'er was being scolded by the Prince's disappearance, Empress Jian came to pay a visit to her residence. Although she was the Prince's mother, Empress Jian was not angry when Xin'er recounted the events before the Prince disappeared.

The empress only smiled as she stroked Xin'er's head with affection. The soft words and the hospitality of the Empress, made Xin'er cry with admiration for remembering the figure of her mother.

Seeing the son-in-law crying like that, made Empress Jian heartless. He decided to spend the night with Xin'er, so that her daughter-in-law would not be lonely anymore.

Right on the night Empress Jian stayed over, there came three intruders who were planning to kill Xin'er as well as the Third Prince, according to their superiors' instructions.

As he was about to shake the sword, Xin'er woke up and held back their sword using the sword that was usually lying beside her bed. Those who were shocked saw Xin'er awake, then tried to speed up their task. At the same time, the Empress woke up and saw the presence of a stranger there.

Rushing He pushed the bodies of the three intruders and ran to call the soldiers or guards. But unfortunately, one of the swords managed to scratch the Empress's back, until she fell on the floor with a gaping wound.

"No," Xin'er immediately ran over, yet they got in the way. "Surge you, damn it!" he fought with all his might against the intruders in order to quickly help Empress Jian.

But, their science was quite high, so Xin'er had a hard time defeating him. Even if he tried, he still lost.

"Haha. Turns out it's just your ability," they sneered. "My master was too worried about her, but she wasn't much different from a normal girl" they booed. "Come, let's finish this!"

The sword was raised and ready to dart slashed at Xin'er's neck. But before touching his neck, heard the patrol soldiers walking over to hear the commotion.

"Mr Princess. What's going on?"

Hearing that there were patrolling soldiers coming, they immediately fled from behind and jumped again to the roof like before.

"Please!" xin'er shouted very loudly.
