A Lovely Happiness In Summer

A Lovely Happiness In Summer
#2 Sincerity

..."Tell me, what's your definition of beautiful?"...

...🌞🌞🌞...

Hyunseok hated Yeoreum's silence. After the show writer Seonhwa the girl is like a statue. Only Hyunseok can make it move. In fact, when offered to eat ramyeon together, the girl refused. In fact, ramyeon is a 'Food God' that should not be rejected, Yeoreum said every time they planned to eat together.

Hyunseok knew for sure the words from the girl who insulted Yeoreum were the cause of the girl being silent. However, usually Yeoreum would quickly forget something like this and return laughing with Hyunseok's jokes. Unfortunately, until they reached the front of Yeoreum's house, there was no joke that made the girl raise her lips.

"I told you, forget their words. Why are you like this?" hyunseok said in an impatient tone.

Slowly Yeoreum faced Hyunseok. His face was flat, but there was anger in both of his eyes.

"Tell me, what's your definition of beautiful?" ask Yeoreum.

Hyunseok's eyebrows shriveled. He did not expect that question to come out of Yeoreum's mouth.

"Why? You don't have an answer?" yeoreum asked again in a sarcastic tone.

"I have the answer, but is it really important for you to hear the answer?"

"Here you go, just answer my question, Jung Hyunseok!"

Yeoreum's high tone made Hyunseok flinch. Never had he found this emotional Yeoreum. Did the girls' words really change Yeoreum's outlook?

"For me eternal beauty is the sincerity of loving and respecting others. Because our physicality will always change."

Yeoreum laughed sinisterly. "Ah ... Is that so? So to you my beauty only comes from 'loving' and 'respecting' others? Wouldn't a person who kept being trampled on also be able to turn into the most ruthless criminal? So what is eternal?"

Yeoreum's words managed to raise Hyunseok's hair. However, even the man did not know how to respond. It seemed, whatever words he would put out to defend the argument would be rejected outright Yeoreum.

"I don't understand you today. Looks like you need a break."

Yeoreum. He also stepped away from Hyunseok without saying goodbye. However, in that step he continued to mutter, "Yes, you'll never understand me."

...🌞🌞🌞...

Yeoreum had just finished class when Kyungmin suddenly ran towards her. The man's breathing was still wheezing and trying to catch his breath as he arrived before Yeoreum.

"Yeo-Yeoreum-ssi, a-what .. are you busy?" ask Kyungmin.

"Nope-no. Can I help you?"

"I want to talk to you first. How about we talk there?

Kyungmin pointed to the area in the center of the campus. The place is indeed commonly used by students to sit while waiting for the next course. The area is in the form of circular cement with the stairs used as a seat, while the bottom is flat. There are several chairs and a small beam-shaped stage at the bottom. The stage is often used for campus organization oration or training for students who will do a practice exam. Another fun thing, this area is surrounded by tall, lush trees. So, no need to worry if the air is hot like now. They will still feel the coolness.

Kyungmin and Yeoreum sat on the empty staircase. Yeoreum's long hair tied to two lips came in tiptoes as Yeoreum went down the stairs. It felt like Yeorum was carrying a sack of rice every step down the stairs. His breathing is now stingy. Why should this senior choose the lowest staircase?

Kyungmin had reached the bottom, he then faced up and looked at Yeoreum. "Do you need help?"

Yeoreum. He also tried to get down immediately. As soon as he reached the senior's place, Yeoreum immediately sat down. He picked up water from the bag and drank it quickly.

Kyungmin immediately took up a position next to Yeoreum. "Sorry, it's been bothering you."

"A-ah .. no, i-this isn't Senior Kyungmin's fault."

"I want to talk about our club's theater performance."

Yeoreum looked at her confused senior.

"You're, aren't you, taking on the role of lady-in-waiting?" ask Kyungmin.

Yeoreum nodded.

"Then, what about Hyunseok? Have you spoken to him."

"On that .. we haven't been chatting yet. Our classes are different."

Kyungmin nodded. "But can you meet him today? Please help us. Staging time is in a minute. It will be difficult to find a replacement for Hyunseok as the lead. He's the best in theater. You know, right? For our success. Please persuade Hyunseok. I know he just blew it on you."

Yeoreum sighed. Here's howshe is. It will always be the dove that sends messages to Hyunseok. Whether it was from a senior or a junior who had a hard time talking to Hyunseok due to the man's nature. Too stubborn and hard to penetrate.

"I'll work it out" Yeoreum replied.

"thank you. I hope you can persuade him. You are the hero of our club" Kyungmin said, then smiled. "Oh, yes, I have another class after this. This Saturday we're going to practice. I'm waiting for you and Hyunseok to come."

Kyungmin waved and coincided as Kyungmin left, from across from Yeoreum's seat which was 100 meters away, Hyunsoek noticed. They sat. Like sending signals to each other, Yeoreum remained seated in his place and Hyunseok came to the girl. He instantly took the place Kyungmin had previously occupied.

"What do you and Senior Kyungmin need?" hyunseok asked without further ado.

"Talking about the drama club."

"Tumben, it's not like he rarely talks to you."

"Yes, it's about the drama. I accepted the offer as a lady-in-waiting."

Hyunseok nodded. "Then it makes you happy, just do it."

"He also entrusted me to be able to invite you," Yeoreum said.

"I told you, I don't want to get involved anymore."

Yeoreum sighed. "Can you help me one more time? Their request weighed heavily on me."

"If you feel overwhelmed, refuse! Why do you have to keep up with everyone's requests?"

"Because it's the only thing that I'm appreciated for. And can you work with me this time?"

Both stared. There were pent-up emotions from the radiance of their respective eyes. Hyunseok felt that Yeoreum who was currently in front of him was a different Yeoreum. Why did his best friend change in just a matter of hours?

"I'm not comfortable with how we are right now" Hyunseok said honestly. "I want the Yeoreum I know back."

Silent. The wind blew away a green leaf that fell right in front of Yeoreum. The girl looked at the green leaf. Why does only one leaf fall off and become its own? Though the leaves were seen high when in the twigs, become a strong part of the tree. When it was on the ground like this, did the leaves become meaningful?

"I'm sorry about yesterday" Yeoreum said in silence. "I .. just carried away the feeling. I'm tired."

Hyunseok turned his head towards Yeoreum. Yeoreum's shady face that always made her heart calm back she saw. Hyunseok was relieved. He immediately hugged Yeoreum.

"Please don't be like this again. I don't want to lose you" Hyunseok said.

"Yes, Jung Hyunseok! Unhand me! I'm having a hard time breathing!" exclaim Yeoreum.

Hyunseok laughed out loud and immediately released a hug. Actually, Yeoreum was happy when Hyunseok hugged her. All his anger is gone. Only she was embarrassed because the people around her saw them. Bad duck what it's worth to be with a prankster. More importantly, he did not want Hyunseok to feel the unnerving pounding of his heart.

"Then ... do I want to go back to the drama?" ask Yeoreum slowly.

Now, Hyunseok was sighing. Actually, there was another reason he was lazy to come back. However, he did not want to start another fight and made Yeoreum sad.

"Well, I'll be back" Hyunseok replied.

"really?" Yeoreum's eyes twinkled.

"But you have to promise me one thing."

"What's that?" ask Yeoreum.

"Please promise to fight back if anyone in the drama club hurts you."

Yeoreum was silent for a moment, but then she nodded slowly. After that, Hyunseok hugged the girl tightly.
