In the room, hugging Ulan's roll was crying bitterly. His heart was so sick to see his brother picked up by the man he liked. The hunger she felt instantly disappeared immediately seeing Wulan and Niko leave together.
"I shouldn't have seen them. I shouldn't care about them."
Ulan kept crying. Because of the great pain he felt, Ulan did not realize that Jefry had been in his room since.
"No, I can't be jealous. Wulan's my brother, Niko's his girlfriend. So, I can't take Niko away from my sister."
Ulan rose and wiped his tears. He sat down on the side of the bed against Jefry.
"I must be sincere. I need to get rid of this feeling. I can't like Niko. Remember, Ulan, you're not the woman Niko loves, but Mr. Wulan."
Unable to hear the cries and complaints of his daughter, Jefry finally opened his voice. "You're right, son."
Ulan. "Father!" he quickly wiped away his tears, "When was Papa there?"
"Since you said you didn't want to see them."
Ulan approached his father. Sadness again enveloped him as Jefry hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry, Pa. Ii'm sorry. I didn't mean to take Niko from Brother Wulan."
"It's not your fault, son. Papa is wrong, if papa hadn't betrothed you to Niko, you wouldn't have put your taste in him."
Ulan let go of a hug, looked at Jefry and said, "I want to go far away, stay away from them must make my feelings for Niko go away."
"That's not necessary," Jefry wiped away her daughter's tears, "Papa doesn't forbid you from approaching Niko. Papa won't tell you to stay away from him either. Aren't they married? I don't think it's a problem if you compete in a healthy way."
Ulan surprised. "I mean Papa?"
"If you really have trouble forgetting Niko, papa can help you get her. You forgot that Papa and Om Handoko are friends? It's not hard for papa to conquer Niko for your sake. Believe it."
"What about Brother Wulan?"
"He's not a sibling, he's a half-brother."
The sadness on Ulan's face vanished. "It's also true, Papa said. But, I'm not sure Niko wants me. Niko only loves Wulan, not me."
"She can't love you, but she can marry you."
Ulan. He did not expect his father to do that. Wulan was not his brother, but his wife Angelina.
"Now go to sleep" said Jefry, "Let your father take care of it. Just go about your day as usual. Okay?"
Ulan hugged Jefry tightly. "Thank you, Papa. Thank you very much. Papa is the best."
"Remember," Jefry let go of a hug, "don't tell this to mama. It's both of us's secrets."
"Ready, Papa, just calm down."
"Father, remind me" he said quietly, "Other times if the door hurts don't forget to close. Papa came in because he saw your door wasn't closed."
After regaining confidence in his daughter, Jefry comes out of the room and leaves.
"You're here apparently," Angelina's voice startled Jefry, "I'm looking for you everywhere, it turns out you're here."
Jefry glanced at the door of Ulan's room, hoping that the woman would not come out, so that Angelina would not see her swollen eyes.
"I told him to sleep. Working too hard is not good for health."
"That's right. Come on, I've prepared coffee for you."
While going down the stairs Jefry asked, "Has Wulan gone home?"
"Yet. Let it be, it's not too late anyway."
Jefry happy. This is his chance to fix things. "On the match between Niko and Ulan, it's good that you don't have to tell Wulan. I don't want him to be hurt."
Right at that moment they arrived at the back porch. Angelina took the position in front of Jefry.
"I think so too. It's good he knows about it himself. I don't think I can tell him about the matchmaking."
"really. After all even though the matchmaking has been announced, as parents we can only carry out. The one who has the right to determine whether they are fighting or not is God. I do not want His will, let the Creator govern all."
Angelina looked at Jefry. He fell in love for the umpteenth time with the man.
"Why are you looking at me like that, Angelina?"
"My husband is very wise."
"Good night" Wulan's voice surprised them. He was a little surprised to see Jefry, "I'm looking for Mama, it turns out Mama is here."
"Where's your date, son?"
Jeffery's question surprised Wulan.
Looking at her daughter's expression Angelina said, "Papa already knows, son. You don't have to worry."
"Wulans?"
Jeff's voice surprised him.
"Yes, Pa?"
"You haven't answered papa's question. You're okay, right?"
"I'm doing fine. My date is good too."
"So where have you been?" ask Angelina, "Why is it so late?"
"So we had dinner at Handoko's house. He cooked a special grilled fish for us."
Angelina happy. "Well, how did he know you like grilled fish?"
"Who else if it wasn't Niko who told him."
Jeff's expression changed slightly. He was annoyed to hear Handoko's attitude like that. Had Wulan known Handoko killed Wulan's father, she probably wouldn't have gotten in touch with them.
Not wanting to talk about the Lais family, Jefry brought up another topic. "How do you do, son? Since becoming Niko's girlfriend you never again talk about your activities to papa and mama. Right, Ma?"
Angelina. "Yes, your father is right."
Wulan. "There's actually something I want to tell you."
"What about?" ask Angelina.
"I was mutated to Manado."
"What?!" exclaims Angelina, "Why? When?"
Jefry pretend. "You didn't do anything wrong, did you, honey?"
Wulan.
"Why are you mutated?" urged Angelina.
"The head of the branch asked me to train employees there some time. As soon as I'm done, I'll be back in town."
Angelina relieved. "Mom thinks you made a mistake. Mama's very worried."
"No, Mama. Mama take it easy, I won't be long, okay."
"Did Niko know?" ask Jefry.
"Yes, Pa. I told them at dinner."
"What's the reaction?"
"He objected at first. After I declared the reason, he finally agreed. He gave me a month."
"Annex?" cry Angelina, "That's too fast, right?"
Wulan chuckles. "That's exactly too, Mama. The limit of someone studying the program is two weeks. Maximum of a month."
"Right," Jeffrey said, "two weeks should have been the man who had it all."
"Initially Niko gave me two weeks, I objected. So, he gave me a month."
Angelina teases. "Surely he's not far from you."
Had Jefry not taken the wisdom to keep Ulan and Niko's matchmaking a secret, Angelina would not have teased her daughter with those words. He doesn't need to keep Jefry's feelings as Wulan's father. Jefry said in God's hands.
"It's late. You'd better get some sleep, honey," Jefry told Wulan, "If you need anything, tell papa, okay?"
"Yes, Pa."
"That means tomorrow's your last day at the office, huh?" ask Angelina.
"Yes, Ma."
"How about we celebrate a small event in this house? Let's invite Handoko, Niko and your office mates."
"Don't, Mama."
"Why, Honey? My mom just had a little show before you left."
"I don't want to part with you. If Mama's having an event, it's the same Mama wants to part with me."
"The moon is right" said Jefry, "We don't have to celebrate, because it's better."
