About Gibran?
Section 03: Dinner

After school, Melisa will actually spend time with her two best friends. However, after getting a call from Mama who asked her to go home immediately, Melisa also canceled their appointment and promised to go for a walk together at a later time. After all, Rere and Via understand that Melisa does need to spend a lot of time with her family, to build a better relationship than before.

On the way home, Melisa takes the time to send a message to Gibran, reminding the man for lunch. Not waiting for a long time, Gibran replied by sending a photo that showed him eating lunch with one of his coworkers. Melisa grinned to herself after seeing the pap of Gibran.

After cleaning the body and changing clothes, Melisa accompanied Mama to buy some goods until the clock showed at 5 pm, then the two decided to immediately slide towards one of the restaurants in the city center.

Melisa who does not know anything just follow the words of her mother, at first she thought this was just a regular dinner, but everything suddenly changed after Melisa arrived at the dinner table that I had ordered, Dad said, father and Gibran were sitting there, waiting for their arrival.

Melisa who saw that certainly asked Gibran through the eyes. But Gibran only gave a smile in the middle of his face that looks tried as relaxed as possible.

"Sit down, Mel." said Mr. Felix because he saw Melisa who kept pecking.

With uncertain feelings, Melisa also sat beside Gibran who faced Mama and her father. Under the table, Melisa's hand pulled the tip of Gibran's shirt, Gibran took a quick glance, then the man clasped Melisa's hand, unbeknownst to the two before them.

Melisa asks, Why is Gibran here with her father? But for some reason, it felt so hard to make a sound. It feels so heavy.

"Khemm, before, thank you for fulfilling our invitation, Mr. Gibran," said Mama.

"It's my duty, madam."

"Could you call me Mama, I'd be happy if you called me with the same call."

There was relief in Melisa's heart when she heard her mother's words. And so is Gibran.

There are not many stale bases between them, until all the dinner menu is ready to be eaten. Mr. Felix invited Gibran to eat the prepared dishes.

Melisa who saw his father's treatment of Gibran was a little surprised, as something happened between the two, which made them look a little familiar?

The four people had dinner so quietly, without any talk in the middle of eating. Until Melisa suddenly remembered with her two younger siblings, Arkan and Erlan. Where are they?

"Ma? Arkan the same Erlan didn't come to dinner with us?"

"No, honey. Because you could say this is a special dinner."

"What are Mom and Dad planning?"

Inner Melisa.

"Some?" call Mr. Felix after cleaning both corners of his lips with a tissue.

"Yes, Dad?"

"Dad wants to say the same thing, like what you told Gibran!"

"I-yes, Dad. Please."

"Are you serious about Gibran?"

Melisa glanced at Gibran who turned out to be glancing at her as well.

"Yes, Melisa's serious."

"Are you ready for all the consequences you will have?"

"Yes, Melisa's ready."

"Are you willing to follow some of the rules that Dad and Mama would give you?"

"Rules?"

"Yes, the rules as long as you're with Gibran, there are some rules that you two must follow!"

Once again, Melisa glanced at Gibran.

"Yes, Melisa's ready!"

"Are you sure? If not, you can say it."

"Surely sure."

"alright. Ma, give me the rule book."

Melisa was stunned when she heard the rule book? This is serious, the rules are up to one book?

"Please read it carefully first, if there are any rules you disagree with, you can say right now!"

Despite her doubts, Melisa still took the rulebook that her mother gave her, all the rules written in there were indeed for the good of both of them.

"Where? Does anything make Melisa mind?"

Melisa shook her head slowly. "Nothing, Dad. Melisa will do everything possible to comply with all the rules."

"Good then."

Samar, Gibran smiles with relief at Melisa's decision.

...****************...

With nervousness and a racing heart, Gibran entered the restaurant where the two met with Mr. Felix. Right in a private room, Mr. Felix was already sitting waiting for his arrival.

Nervous, awkward, agitated, mixed together as Gibran was in one room and sitting opposite Mr. Felix. What's more, the look on Mr. Felix's face that is not at all pictured the word friendship there.

"Gibran Yuandara?!"

"Yes, me" replied Gibran sparingly.

"Do you know what purpose I'm inviting you to tonight?"

Gibran did not answer anything, he instead ventured to look at Mr. Felix's face and tried as calmly as possible in answering every question.

"Quite, I don't want to mess around with you anymore, let alone this about my daughter, Melisa!!"

"Sorry, sir, but I've never played around with your daughter."

"Can I believe what you say?!"

"I'm not forcing, sir can believe, may not."

Mr. Felix smiled faintly. "Good word game."

"Where do you want to go?" continued Mr. Felix.

"Until that point Melisa became part of my family and my life."

"My sister knows."

"Your parents?"

"I'll tell them."

"What if they don't accept?"

"I'm going to try, like I'm trying now to get your approval."

"Can I trust you to look after Melisa?"

"As with the previous answer, it is your right. Believe it or not."

Mr. Felix returned with a faint smile. "How about tonight, I ask you to forget and stay away from Melisa?"

"I'm entitled to ask, what's your reason?"

Mr. Felix nodded slowly.

"You can be with Melisa, but there are some rules that you must obey. There are rules, there is Melisa. There are no rules, no Melisa. How's it?"

"Well, I agree with all the rules you will give!"

Mr. Felix mentioned some rules, the rest he let Gibran read for himself from the rule book that Mr. Felix had prepared.

"How's it?"

"There's a rule, there's Melisa!" gibran insisted, showing that he was ready to run all his rules.

Mr. Felix just gave a line of smiles to Gibran's reply.

...****************...

Melisa lay her body on the mattress after bathing and changing clothes, she grabbed her phone and immediately opened some incoming messages from Gibran.

Gibran :

Is it home nyampe?

Wash your hands, wash your feet and go to sleep.

^^^Melisa :^^^

^^^Excuse me, is there anyone?^^^

^^^Can you speak for a moment?^^^

***

Gibran immediately read the message Melisa sent, and immediately contacted Melisa.

"Good night, Miss Sweet... What the fuck are you talking about? Time and place are welcome to you."

"Em, about dinner? How can?"

Gibran answered truthfully, ranging from him who got an email from Melisa's father to telling them some of their conversations before Melisa came.

"Darling?" call Gibran for not getting any response from Melisa after hearing the explanation.

"So morning Livi nitip gift from Mama."

"Mama?" lirih Gibran's.

"I mean Auntie, your Mama."

Gibran was silent for a moment. The man can guess the story without explaining why it happened again.

"Where do you like the card?"

"Like, but I feel bad, we've never met before, and suddenly there's a gift from-"

"Mama" said Gibran.

"I'm awkward."

"Why?"

"An all-too-familiar call to someone we've never met."

"When do you want to see Mama?"

"Huh?"

"Yes, I want to see Mama, right? When?"

"I'm not ready yet." said Melisa.

"Yes, if you're ready, say yes, sweet."

"D-yes."

"Any more, honey?"

"Emm, that's it."

"Sleep, you can't stay up!"

"You too, rest."

"Yes, my beauty."

"Good night."

"Good night too, I love you, hehehe."

"Love you too."

"Bye, hon. Good sleep and good dreams."

Melisa turned off her room light after putting her phone back on the table. Once Melisa thought, is it too soon for a girl like Melisa to be in such a serious relationship? To involve family? But one side is also happy because Melisa gets clarity over their relationship, but again the other side makes Melisa afraid of disappointment, fearing in the future something that they never imagined and planned before!

"So, no, you can't overthink, Mell. Believe in God, He will surely give you the best destiny!"
