This morning Ali and Aisyah were about to go to school.
“Ali do not forget, the money is calculated first later,” said Umi told Ali.
Usually after returning home from school Ali and Aisyah stopped by the school cafeteria to take the money from the sale of the cake they left.
Umi said so that it can be replayed money to make more cakes, continue to be sold again.
For two years now, I have been selling food. Small foods such as chips, crackers and various fried foods that Umi made himself. If Umi crackers and chips only buy raw that has been finished in the market then just fried it at home and packed in small plastic wrap.
After school Ali and Aisyah helped Umi wrap her in a makeshift plastic packaging. After that Umi and Ali will go to leave the package of chips and crackers in the stalls on foot, that afternoon. Sometimes evenings, depending on when it's finished. It depends on the weather out there too. If the day is too hot or raining, postponed first deliver it.
If fried foods and cakes will be deposited early in the morning by Umi to the stalls.
Ali and Aisyah also brought fried food and cookies to school to be left in their school cafeteria. Umi had told her cafeteria mother that every morning Ali and Aisyah would bring her cakes to the cafeteria and go home from school they would also take the rest of the cake and the money for resale.
While Kak Asiyah in the morning left for work and had to go to college.
If Abi, sometimes Aisyah is the one who keeps her alone at home when Umi and Ali put chips and crackers into the stalls.
They fought together. Trying to rise up in the weight of life they have to live right now.
Ali complained often. Ali said why should I sell everything? Abi's money is a lot. Ali's tired.
Temporary.. Umi still often cries silently. Umi is sad, not strong to see Ali and Aisyah who have to bear everything.
Ali could not understand everything that was happening. Just grumble at his job. Aisha was a lot of quiet.
Ali and Aisyah are different characters. Ali was so chatty, while Aisyah was quiet. Umi is easier to understand the contents of Ali's heart because Ali is very easy to express his heart. If Aisyah, Umi must approach more so that Aisyah will talk to
tell me all his complaints.
Said Aisyah, why did Abi become like this Umi? Why can't Abi walk and talk? Why Kak Asiyah went back and forth, Go home early in the morning, Asiyah kangen play with Kak Asiyah every day. Umi can only explain how. Because Umi knew, they also would not understand with all the circumstances even until the frothy mouth Umi explained.
Umi said, Kak Asiyah was working the next morning, Kak Asiyah went to work directly to the campus, so Kak Asiyah did not need to go back home again after the office to save costs. If Abi, being sick, Aisha must be patient, Aisha did’a to Allah, hopefully.. Asiyah is healthy, Abi is healthy, Umi is healthy, Ali is healthy and Aisyah is also healthy, said Umi.
As usual, that morning Ali and Aisyah each brought a basket containing cakes made by Umi to be left in the school cafeteria.
Ali's stocky body carried the cake basket on his stomach. The fat on his cheeks trembled. His feet kept racing.
The skinny Aisyah who was next to him was also carrying a cake basket on her stomach. Keep walkin.
There was a ball in front of Ali. Kicked it. The ball moved straight in front of him. Ali's after. The cake is still in her hand. The cake vibrated on Ali's stomach.
Aisyah shouted to see Ali running after the ball. “Aliiii waitu. already dong Ali, the cake will fall."
Ali kept chasing the ball. Laughing Ali chased the ball. Ali seemed very happy with his game.
Aisha chased after him from behind. Sometimes stop because of fatigue.
Ali had already walked out of the first hallway of their house. It was so fast that Ali ran after the ball.
Shortly after Ali's body disappeared from the hallway of their house, Aisyah was silent. Stop from moving his steps. Aisyah did not hear any more of Ali's laughing noise. Where's Ali? Aisha ran again.
Arriving at the intersection. Aisha looked to the left. Saw Ali. Ali stood up, silent, without making any sound, the noise of his laughter disappeared.
Looks like Ali's in shock. Ali held back her tears. Cart fell. The cake was scattered in a pool of muddy water along the way.
Aisha approached Ali.
“Ali, did you say earlier, do not run, now see the cake fell all, what Umi said later if you know all this incident,” Aisyah scolded Ali. Ali began to cry loudly.
“Aaaaaaa. aaaaaa.” Ali's crying voice was very noisy.
Aisyah held out her palms to Ali.
“Aliiii, quiet dong, shy to see people,” Aisyah whispered to Ali. It is not good to see fathers and mothers who see them fighting on the side of the road.
Ali was just crying. Fear scolded Umi. Ali felt guilty.
“Ayokk already wake up, we go to school first, we will be honest with Umi, I am sure Kok Umi will not be angry,” Aisyah pulled the hand of Ali who was still squatting on the road.
Ali was silent. Petrifying.
“Ayoolaahh Ali, later we are late,” Aisyah is still pushy.
Ali stood with his face down.
They walk back to school.
Fortunately when the cake fell scattered earlier, Ali's body did not fall mired, otherwise how Ali wanted to go to school, had to go home again to change his uniform.
Arriving at school, Aisyah just left her cake basket to the cafeteria.
Ali was carrying an empty basket. Ali was hiding behind Aisyah. Afraid of asking the canteen mom.
The mother of the cafeteria was silent, because there were also several times they only left one basket of cookies, so there was nothing strange if this time only Aisyah brought her cake basket.
Going home from school was very stressful for Ali.
On the way home, Ali was silent. Not saying a word. No more running around. Just stepping straight on the road in front of him. Slow down his footsteps.
“Ayooo Ali fast way!” Aisyah. Kinda angry.
Ali quiet. He doesn't care about Aisyah.
Aisyah was already quite far away walking in front of her. It's been a long trip this afternoon. Just waiting for Ali.
Finally after a very long journey, until they were in front of the house.
Aisyah went straight into the house. Meet Umi. Aisyah gave the money from the sale of cakes in the cafeteria.
Umi looked behind Aisyah. There is no Ali. Where is ali? Where's the big boy? Calculate the money for the sale of cakes. Why so much lack? Ask Umi to Aisyah.
Only then did Aisyah tell him about all the events this morning.
Aisyah said, when she arrived at the door of their hut house earlier, Ali's footsteps stopped, Ali hid behind the front door. Stiff. Fear of scolding Umi. Even to make a sound, Ali did not dare.
Umi smiled at Aisyah's story. Umi went out to see Ali.
Ali was silent, his body standing against the wall.
She hugged Ali. “What's the son of? Come in,” persuade Umi.
Ali remained stiff. Not going to leave.
“Umi was not angry with Ali, where maybe Umi was angry, Ali was not accidentally,” Umi gently told Ali.
Ali was silent.
“Umi cooked well earlier, Ali's favorite food, salted fried chicken, Ali want to eat? Later Umi bribe yes,” Umi smile again. Looked at Ali's face. He slowly wiped Ali's head.
Ali smiled at Umi. He heard Umi mention the salty fried chicken. Ali is very willing. Moreover, actually Ali had been holding back hunger.
“Iya Umi, Ali want, yyeeayyy..” shouted Ali.
Like nothing happened before. Everything was lost when I heard Umi call her favorite salted fried chicken.
Umi loved Ali very much. How could Umi be angry just because of this. Ali was a child, of course what was on his mind when he saw the ball was just want to play. After all, seeing her children want to help Umi to make money, Umi was very happy.
Umi shed her tears again silently as she fed Ali. Immediately rub his eyes when glazed. Let no one see his sadness.
