Chapter 95. It's like a Stepchild
"Good morning, Mama," said Aruna as she opened the door to her room wide. It showed Gloria sitting on the bed.
Gloria was about to rise as soon as Aruna came in while carrying a large tray containing a plate of fried rice with a soaring portion and a large glass of warm milk.
"You just sit down. Let Mama come there. You do not move too much, so that the little whiz Mama in your stomach is comfortable," said Aruna as he approached. Then sit on the edge of the bed.
"You haven't had breakfast, have you?" aruna asked a smile staring at Gloria.
Gloria smiled back. "Yet, Ma. I was going downstairs, but__"
"But I forbid it" Ardo interrupted as he climbed onto the bed, taking a seat beside Gloria.
"Then from that breakfast you brought Mama here. Bi Yanti said, Ardo asked for breakfast to be taken to the room only," said Aruna. Then thrust the tray into Gloria's hands.
"But Mama shouldn't have brought her here. I feel bad for Mama. I'm too much of a hassle to Mama." Upon receiving the tray, Gloria showed her a gloating face. Aruna is her father-in-law. Although Aruna already thought of him as a child herself. Even Aruna showed too much affection.
"You are Mama's daughter. Especially now that you are pregnant with your granddaughter. So it is only natural that a mother takes care of and takes care of her daughter. Aye right?" Aruna widens her smile. Removing Gloria's awkward and unpleasant feelings.
"Yes, yeah. But where am I?" tanya Ardo widened her eyes looking at Aruna. All he knew, he had already asked Bi Yanti to bring her breakfast to the room. But why did his mother even come to bring him breakfast. It was so, only Gloria's breakfast was brought by the mother. His though?
Aruna smiled nosily. "You take it yourself downstairs. You are already big. Why do you still ask to bring everything? Very spoiled."
"Loh, loh, loh. I told Bi Yanti. Not Mama."
"Yes, indeed. But Mama asked Bi Yanti not to spoil you."
"Mama tega. Why do I feel like I'm a threshing kid now?"
"Ha hah ..." Aruna and Gloria laughed at Ardo's sulking look. Which looks funny in their eyes.
"You're a boy. Can't be spoiled. There, downstairs. Papa is waiting for you to have breakfast together" said Aruna, kicking her son out.
Ardo sighs. Not disappointed or upset. But he was happy. Everything that happens in your life is good luck.
"You're supposed to stand up for your husband, honey. You tega. Or are you on purpose, because you've conspired with Mama to beat me up?" Ardo turned to Gloria. Showing her sulky and suspicious looks.
But unfortunately, it looks even more funny and adorable for Gloria. Gloria laughed at the funny look of her husband.
"I'm sorry, honey. If you've made up your mind, I can't do anything anymore." Gloria stretched out one hand gently rubbing Ardo's face.
"Here, don't mind him. Now, you eat first. Because this little whiz of Mama needs nutrition," Aruna said as she pointed at Gloria's stomach.
"Yes, Ma. Thanks Mama for bringing me my breakfast."
"Yes, please enjoy. Then, Mama stay first huh?"
Gloria nodded. "Again, thank you Ma."
Aruna smiled. "Ardo, come with Mama. Papa's been waiting for you since. He said there's something to discuss with you. Come on, don't make your papa wait too long" he asked as he stood up. Then we walked out of the newlyweds room.
While putting on a sulking look, Ardo got out of bed. Following the step of the mother, out of the room. Then go down the stairs slowly.
At the dinner table, Dicko was enjoying his breakfast alone. Without the company of anyone.
As soon as Aruna came, Aruna immediately took a seat on the side of the table adjacent to her husband. While Ardo took a seat on the other side of the table which is also adjacent to the father.
"Morning, Pa," said Ardo as soon as his ass landed on the seat. Then take a piece of bread, a jar of jam, and start smearing the bread with that jam.
"Morning," Dicko retorted with a smile.
"Oh yeah, how's the new bride doing? Smoothly?" keep Dicko teasing.
Ardo smiled at him hearing that. "More than good. Even now, Mama is disturbing," while glancing annoyedly at Aruna.
"The father asked Mama to call you. Because there's something Papa should talk to you about."
"It's not about work. I'm a newlywed, so give me a chance to enjoy my day as a newlywed."
"That's exactly what Papa wants to talk to you about." Dicko stopped eating.
"Brand will launch the latest collection. We're in a lot of promotion. Tomorrow you have to work. There is a lot to be done by the Marketing Division. So, work hard."
Ardo let out a long sigh hearing the father's words. "I think I'm really a stepson. When's the honeymoon like this?" lamented muttering. But to the ears of his father and mother.
"Pending her honeymoon. If all your work is done, then you can honeymoon" Dicko said smiling. Feeling funny and pity to see the sluggish look of Ardo.
How not, newlyweds like herself should enjoy the moments of her happy days. Not even preoccupied with work affairs like this.
Did his father do this on purpose? Is the sentence not over?
"When am I on my honeymoon, Mr President?" Ardo held his regret asking that question.
"Later."
"It turns out I'm a stepson. Haaa ..." Ardo again sighed. As an expression of disappointment over the father's incomprehension.
While Dicko and Aruna who witnessed the behavior of the son, smiled amusedly. Ardo just didn't know what surprise they were preparing for him. A gift from my grandfather is waiting.
...
After breakfast Ardo returned to his room. He stepped slowly towards the bed. Where Gloria was still sitting on the bed leaning on the head board while playing mobile. While the breakfast brought by the in-laws since earlier for him, has not been touched in the least.
"Why hasn't breakfast been eaten?" ardo asked worriedly, glancing at the plate of fried rice that had not been touched.
"Is my mother's cooking bad?" continued guess.
Gloria shook her head while making a smile. "No. I was just waiting for you."
"Why wait for me? What if you are hungry? Come on, get eaten."
"You're the bribe."
Ardo. Then raised both eyebrows, asking Gloria to repeat her sentence.
"I don't want to. But ..." while looking down. One hand rubbed his stomach.
"His baby again wants to be spoiled by his father," he continued smiling nosily.
Ardo understands. Then get out of bed, grabbing that plate of fried rice. Then he started to feed Gloria.
"His baby or his mother who wants to be pampered?" goda Ardo smiled, staring at the wife sparkling.
"Both."
"Without asking, I will always spoil you. No need to carry the baby with you. Hm?"
While smiling shyly, Gloria nodded slowly.
"Without you asking, I'll spoil you both. So that this little whiz of mine won't be a stepson like this papa."
Gloria even laughed at the word 'stepchild'. Indeed, since his presence, Aruna's attention was even seized for him.
But even so, not one bit reduce the happiness they feel.
