Lessons for a Naughty Monkey

In a forest, a long dry season is sweeping, many water sources are drying up, many trees are dying of heat. Forest animals are confused to find a place to drink, as a result of which many animals die of thirst and heat.

Somewhat in the middle of the forest, there was a big river, in the rainy season, the water in the river was abundant, but in this long dry season, the river was drying up, there was only a small puddle of water mixed with mud. Nevertheless, the river is still relied upon by animals to drink, even being the main place to find a drink, because elsewhere, the water has dried up.

Aquatic animals that still survive in the river are a herd of crocodiles and some hippos, and even then they have to let some of their bodies stung by heat, because of the dry water of the river.

That day, the heat of the sun remained stinging, a group of animals chose to seek shelter under the trees, and others seemed to be pacing back and forth foraging. In one place not far from the riverbank, a striped tiger was sneaking behind a bush, his eyes were wary of looking at a deer that was busy grazing, without realizing there was a threatening danger. The tiger slowly approached its prey, as if worried that its prey would escape, when at a close distance, without warning the tiger immediately pounced…

Humph!

With the tiger awakening the fawn to danger, he turned around, but too late, the tiger pounced faster, there was no shouting because the tiger immediately bit the deer's neck savagely, then the tiger ate his prey calmly. Behind the king of the forest, some hyenas approached, apparently they were about to find a chance to ask for a share, and indeed when the tiger was busy eating, some hyenas were stealing to take part in the rations, and indeed when the tiger was busy eating, some hyenas were stealing, and finally the tiger was disturbed by the action of the hungry hyenas, he roared, and moved about to pounce, not wanting to be a victim of the hyenas jumped away, but the tiger was already irritated, and he was angry, he continues to hunt leaving the carcass of his hunted deer when the hyenas run towards the bushes. On the other hand, from the direction of other bushes also appeared a wolf, his sharp nose can immediately smell the carcass of the deer, and the, and when he saw the carcass of a deer lying just like that without anyone taking care of it, he felt like he had a windfall, just immediately he approached the carcass, briefly look left and right, he looked at the carcass, then he dragged the carcass of a deer and carried it behind the bushes.

Indeed, such are the predator animals, they are always racing to find prey from the type of animal as a meal, some are able to find food alone like the tiger of the king of the forest, he said, or use sneaky ways by grouping like a herd of hyenas.

All these events became a spectacle of a herd of apes that indeed lived on the edge of the river, a small ape who had seriously witnessed the incident laughing and gleeful applause. What he had just seen was very pleasant to him, an exciting spectacle which he rarely saw, therefore he was excited, he did not know, yet, that similar animals can be prey to hunter animals if they are off guard.

The little monkey stopped laughing, when there was a shout calling out to him, apparently the monkey mother who called, he immediately approached his mother and sat in front of her.

The little monkey was indifferent to the words of his mother even he was engrossed in playing with a grass to scrape his ears. His mother repeatedly advised him so, making him lazy to hear it, even though he played on the riverbank near the herd of crocodiles, there was no danger threatening him.

In the evening, when the animals rest, as well as a herd of monkeys. The mother monkey lived in a tree some distance from the riverbank, as usual before going to bed she always told her children, even then she was telling stories, he said, he told the danger of playing in the river near the herd of crocodiles, because although crocodiles appear silent when in the river, but crocodiles are dangerous creatures, because like tigers, crocodiles also like to prey on other animals.

“See that lame old ape, it used to be that when he was young he was a very strong and brave ape, he was very good at jumping from one tree trunk to another tree quickly and nimbly, he was very good at jumping from one tree trunk to another, but look at his presence now, his legs limp because he was less careful when taking a drink, until his feet were struck and bitten by a crocodile, he said, that's why I always scold you if you play too close to the herd of crocodiles”pap mother ape end the story while pointing at an ape who was walking limping under a tree.

The other ape children nodded at his mother's words, while the nosy ape did not hear because he had fallen asleep because he was too tired, after playing all day.

The next day as usual the nosy ape outside the supervision of his mother back to play around near the river, his eyes pay attention to the herd of crocodiles lined up like a pile of wood, ah, ah, he thought it would be fun to play on the back of the crocodile. Then the nosy ape approached the river, and it turned out that the crocodiles remained silent, he smiled, apparently his mother tricked when saying crocodiles are dangerous animals. Then he climbed on the back of the crocodile, jumping around with fun, but suddenly a crocodile moved snatched, the little monkey was surprised, he jumped but could not, the end of the crocodile snout gripped his head. He struggled while screaming in fear, other apes screamed when he saw the incident, the crocodile mother was shocked when she knew that the end of the crocodile's snout was her child, her son, but of course he did not dare to approach because he knew the danger. The little ape kept twitching his head from the snout of the crocodile, he began to feel dizzy and his head had started to bleed.

From the edge of the river the mother monkey took some stones and pelted the body of the crocodile, the action was followed by several other apes. Feeling his body hurt by throwing stones, finally the crocodile was forced to release his prospective prey, once escaped from death the nosy monkey immediately ran to the side, holding his aching head.

The ape mother immediately ran over to her child, lovingly hugged and carried. The little monkey looked teary-eyed with a deathly pale face, a little blood was flowing from his head from being bitten by a crocodile. The monkey mother rubbed gently, thankfully the wound was not much.

“Mother also said what, crocodiles are dangerous animals son, next time do not play near crocodiles yes,” said his mother gently while rubbing his son's head. The nosy ape nodded his head in tears, inwardly promising to obey his mother's advice.
