"Yahoooo!!" screech a girl as she enters the boarding gate of the school I want to enter.
I who had just come out of the public transport glanced at the details, ascertaining what had happened to the loud screams he had made earlier.
From outside the gate, I could observe. This dormitory is in front of the highway with a half-cement guardrail and iron bars. On the inside near the fence, in the plant Mahogany trees are medium-sized and not too lush.
I was almost nearing the gate of the iron whose paint was still new and shiny, black. Inside there, a girl who was shouting just now looked to one side with a look of disdain.
"Just know!! Why stand there!! And again, what the hell is grandma loving!! I don't want to!!" he stumbled while throwing something.
I frowned as he said one word "Grandmother?" I muttered while walking fast. Why is the girl yelling at the granny??
The girl immediately snorted as she spat and walked away from someone she called Grandma. When I passed the fence and went inside, I turned and gasped when I saw an unusual sighting.
The deg!!
A grandmother with dominant hair in shiny white and disheveled looked at me who was caught by surprise. This grandmother's body was bent, making her look short and a little strange. His face was covered in wrinkles and his eye bags were huge, plus black spots on his face as well as under his eyes. Her lips were dry and her cheeks were flattened. He wears a shabby black kemben with a shabby batik cloth that he makes a skirt. He was not wearing footwear and his hand was holding an old broomstick. The aroma of this grandmother's body is a little unpleasant, such as musty odor, sweat and also a little rancid and fishy.
He glared at me, both his eyebrows raised high and his eyeballs almost popped out. His eyes turned red and he closed his mouth very tightly.
I was surprised, just like the girl. The difference is I don't scream and prefer to hold it. I even held my breath, not until the heart closed the nose in front of him. I took a breath that was held before speaking.
"ah! Assalamualaikum, mom. Good morning." I said with a smile, trying to shake off the shock I was feeling. Honestly, my body feels uncomfortable when looked at by him.
"Aren't you surprised by Grandma?" ask her with a trembling voice, typical of the voice of parents in general.
I looked down for a moment, then looked back at Grandma. "Sorry, grandma. Earlier.. Just a little surprised." I answered honestly.
"Aren't you disgusted by Grandma?" he asked again, not forgetting the lookout and eyes that continued to grow, he shook his head strangely while looking at me.
I cringe at hearing it. Why should I feel disgusted, we are both human. Maybe if I get old, I will be like Grandma. Although, grandma was indeed a little strange and creepy.
"No." I said steady.
"Everyone yells and stares in disgust at Grandma, so are you?" he said, as if suspicious. Urged me while continuing to shake his head.
I just smiled while subduing my tall body to be under grandma. I took her wrinkled hand holding a broom, and then I salami it by kissing the back of her hand. "My mom taught me to always be nice to anyone, especially to older people. Why am I disgusted, anyway.. I will be old too. That is if I live long and God permits." I said.
The face of the grandmother who was originally sad suddenly changed. The highlight of his rather sharp and suspicious eyes changed into softer ones. He looked at me with a smile, then took something out from behind his ugly batik cloth, not forgetting to still shake his head. "Here's some candy for you, eat it." he opened his fist and gave me some dark red candy wrapped in the words Jamin.
I actually don't like to eat sweets, let alone sweets. But I have to appreciate my grandmother's gift. I opened it and ate it after reading the bismillah. When the candy touched my tongue, I immediately choked because it felt spicy and cold together in my mouth, esophagus to my nasal passage. I closed my mouth withstanding the cough, this candy is spicy, sweet and bitter at once.
"Haha.. You just ate this candy first, right? It's a little spicy, don't hold back your cough, your eyes turn red." he said, shaking his head. I smiled as I looked down earlier.
Really, this candy taste is bad. But at least she's not sweet. There was another mix of flavors that made me accept it easily.
"Oh yeah, grandma wants to give you something again. Wait a minute." he said while taking out another object from behind his naughty batik cloth. "It's.." I frowned, when I saw a shabby card that Grandma gave me.
While poking at the candy that had started to be friendly with my tongue, I picked it up. I want to feel like I'm flipping through this card, but I'm afraid grandma would be offended if I did it in front of her. "Thank you, Grandma." I said without knowing what it was, and put it straight into his pants pocket.
Grandma smiled back and looked at me. "Come inside. I hope you're happy to be in there and keep that thing. May you always be protected from bad things, because you are a good child" he said.
I nodded my head. "Good, grandma. I'll keep this, and thank you for it. Assalamualaikum." I said turning around.
Actually, there was a curious and strange feeling that swirled in my mind after hearing Grandma's words just now. I don't know why, I don't feel comfortable entering this place. And again, what does this card-shaped paper contain?? Why did Grandma give it to me?? Did he give this girl the same thing?? Then rejected? But, what did Grandma do it for?? Is this, a talisman?? If so, this is shirk and should be thrown away. But if thrown away, of course grandma will feel offended.
"Handsome boy," Grandma said again to make me gasp. I was shocked and instantly my mind was broken. I turned to look at him. "Whose name?" tanyakanya.
"Pig.. Agam Suganda." I replied. He just stared and nodded, then kept silent as if he did not want to say anything.
Feeling that there was nothing he wanted to say, I nodded once as a greeting, then turned back to him.
I walked a few steps through the little grasses I plowed, entering the corn plants planted in front of the dorm yard.
Feeling that I was too far away from Grandma, I slowly opened a card that I put in my pants pocket. I looked at the card while walking slowly.
"empty?" I murmured while frowning in confusion. I checked it over and over while continuing to flip through the card, and it remained empty. Whatisthis?? What paper is this really??
While looking at him in silence, suddenly this blank paper started to smoke. I flinched while blowing it, as it began to smell a charred smell. When I did, suddenly a piece of writing appeared like a burn mark.
I frowned deeply and saw the written reading was... "Human of?? What's this?" mumamku wonder. Below this writing is like a long space, but there is no other writing even though I blew the paper back.
It's magical!! This paper can bring up writing that comes out of nowhere. Or is there actually a biological or chemical process going on? But the question is, why did grandma give it to me?
I immediately turned around, about to see the grandmother standing in front of the gate earlier. When I did, I gasped and blinked quickly. I glanced around to make sure.
Grandma earlier... It's gone, like it's swallowed up the earth. Though the courtyard near the fence dormitory is spacious, and only in the growing mahogany tree is rare. So, of course it takes time for him to switch, and if he leaves, it should still be visible.
Then, how could the grandmother leave, without seeing any more traces??? What the hell is going on? Who is that grandma really?
Seriate....
