He instantly darted by dragging the Dark Emperor sword on the ground surface. When it was close to Varen, the purple-bladed sword was swung with the handle held by Veigas' hands towards Varen's neck.

The great sword managed to slash Varen's neck, but it did not break. It's even like slashing an iron pole that has a molecular density above the density of a very hard diamond molecule.
Feeling his attack fail, Veigas leapt back by shooting a stream of purple-coloured lightning from his left palm, “Dark Thunder!”

Varen's body exploded again and received serious burns. But the burns and all the previous injuries that Varen had, were slowly but surely recovered.

Varen instantly shot out as fast as lightning and in just one second had arrived in front of Veigas with a cold gaze while shaking the katana sword.

Veigas fended off each of Varen's quick slashes with great difficulty and caused sparks every time the two swords rubbed together.
