Chapter 9. Losing a Large Tender

Hans blinked his eyes and squirmed his body. Hans immediately got up and did a stretch. His body was in pain from sleeping on the sofa. Last night he fell asleep while rubbing Ara's back. Hans immediately got out of bed and was about to return to his room. However, the overwhelming drowsiness so that makes Hans body limp to walk. Hans decided to sleep on the sofa.

“You're up!” exclaims Ara who has cleansed herself.

Hans nodded slowly.

“Sorry last night I was so tired and sleepy that I slept here,” Hans said.

“Other times you don't need to come here. I will ask for help to Bu Indah if you need help,” said Ara.

Hans scratched his forehead. “Are you angry that I slept here?”

“Not because of that. Didn't you say last night that your work in the office is very much, even when you get home you still work. You need time to rest and sleep well.” Ara tried to explain.

“Good. If I come home late, Mrs Beautiful will help wipe your back. But if my job gets done sooner, let me do it. I'm not asking for much from you, I just want to be close to my son. That's it.”

Hans leaves without listening to Ara's answer, which means Ara must agree with what Hans says.

The day has changed quickly. The content of Ara is now entering the eighth month. Several times Ara had contractions and made Hans worried. The doctor suggested that Ara not do many activities that could make her tired and she should rest a lot.

“Good morning, Sir."

"Morning, Ken."

"I'd like to remind you that today you have an important meeting with Mr. Donovan to discuss the cooperation plan between HH Corps and D’Van Group,” reports Keenan via phone line while Hans is preparing in his room.

“Alright, Ken. In an hour I will arrive at the office.”

Hans disconnects his phone call and puts his phone in his suit pocket.

Geck... Geck... Geck...

“Log in!” exclaim Hans.

“Mr Hans!” Bu Indah walked in while running in a hurry to get closer to Hans.

“What's up, Mom?”

“Non Ara, Mr.”

Hans widened his eyes. “ What's wrong with Ara? Did she have another contraction?”

“True Sir. But this time it made Non Ara in a lot of pain,” Bu Indah explained in a trembling voice from crying.

Hans immediately ran to the room and found Ara who was cowering in pain on the bed.

“Ara!”

“My stomach hurts so much, Hans,” squealed Ara.

“We go to the hospital now. Bu Indah, tell the driver to prepare the car.”

Hans immediately carried Ara's body out of the room and carried her into the car. Mrs Lovely also went to the hospital.

“Defend, Ra. In a moment we arrive at the hospital,” said Hans while hugging Ara who continued to be in pain.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Ara was immediately treated by an obstetrician and nurses. Hans and Bu Indah waited outside the IGD door with anxious faces. Hans's phone kept ringing. He's getting a call from Keenan.

“Halo, Sir. Where are you now? Mr. Donovan has arrived at the office,” asked Keenan.

“Ken, listen to me. I can't come to the office right now. Please replace me for a meeting with Mr. Donovan.” Hans explained.

“But Sir! Mr. Donovan wouldn't be ready. He never wants to do a meeting without being attended by the CEO of the company that will work with him.”

“I know, Ken. But I can't leave Ara. I am currently in the hospital. Ara had a severe contraction and is currently still being treated by a doctor. Please convey my apology to Mr. Donovan.”

“Good, Sir. I've understood. May Lady Ara and your baby be well.”

“Thank you, Ken.”

Hans immediately hung up his phone call as soon as he saw the doctor coming out of the IGD room.

“How's doctor? My wife and baby are okay, right?” ask Hans.

“Lucky Master brought him in on time, so that your wife does not experience bleeding because the contract is quite strong. Currently the condition of your wife and baby is fine, but still have to get intensive care,” explained the doctor.

“Do your best for their health and safety, doctor.”

“Good, Sir. Your wife is currently sleeping due to the effects of the medication we are giving her. And when your wife wakes up later do not let her have too many thoughts so that her body condition can recover soon. Soon your wife will be delivered to her nursery.”

“Good, doctor. Thank you very much,” said Hans.

Hans sat down beside the bed and looked at the weak face of Ara who was still asleep. The day was near noon, but Ara still faithfully closed her eyes. Bu Indah sat on the sofa while continuing to pray for Ara and her baby.

“Mmhh...” languid Ara with a soft voice.

Ara opened her eyes slowly even though it still felt heavy. He saw Hans who was wearing a worried face.

"Thank God you're awake, Ra. Are you feeling any more pain?" ask Hans.

Ara scrunched her forehead because her head still felt dizzy.

“I am where now?” ask Ara.

“We are in the hospital. You had a great contraction this morning. Do you remember?”

Ara rounded her eyes and instantly felt her distended stomach.

“Alhamdulillah our baby is fine. You just need a lot of rest.”

Bu Indah who knew Ara was awake, immediately moved from her seat and stood on the other side of the bed while crying.

Ara smelled her smile.

“Mom no longer need to worry. I'm doing fine. Thank you for always being next to Ara.”

Hans's phone rang. There's a call from Mr. Narendra. Hans's face immediately looked tense. Hans immediately got out of his seat and came out of Ara's room to pick up the phone from his father.

“Assalamualaikum, Dad.”

“Waalaikumsalam.” Answer Mr. Narendra.

“Daddy just got a report if you failed to cooperate with D’Van Group because you were not present at the important meeting that had been scheduled. Do you know who Mr Donovan is? How could you lose such a big tender, Hans?” Mr. Narendra is very angry.

Previously Hans had received word from Keenan if Mr. Donovan canceled the planned cooperation between D’Van Group with HH Corps.

“True, Dad. I'm sorry" Hans said regretfully.

"Now explain to Daddy, why would you lose such a big tender?" sue Mr. Narendra.

"So morning Ara had a great contraction and whimpered in pain. I took him straight to the hospital. Lucky we arrived on time so Ara didn't have any bleeding. I'm really scared, Dad. I'm afraid something bad happened to Ara and our baby. I accompanied Ara to the hospital and didn't come to the office to see Mr. Donovan." Hans explained.

"Hans is sorry, Dad."

"What's? Ara's having a great contraction? Why don't you call Daddy or Mommy? How is Ara now and your baby? They're okay, aren't they, Hans?"

"Alhamdulillah Ara and our baby are good, Dad. Ara just woke up. Since then he had been sleeping because of the influence of drugs given by doctors," Hans replied.

"From now on, you just focus on the health of Ara and the baby in her womb. For HH Corps, Daddy will take over again. And Daddy will give it back to you when your child is born and you are ready to take on your responsibilities again" Mr. Narendra said.

"Thank you very much, Dad. And sorry for the tender that Hans failed to get" Hans said.

"Family is much more important than a tender. The safety of Daddy's son-in-law and future grandchildren is far more valuable. Losing one tender would not be able to easily drop the prestige of the HH Corps."

Hans smiled at his father's words. After a long conversation, their phone connection was cut off. Hans immediately entered Ara's room. Ara had just been drinking being fed by Beautiful Mom.

"Daddy should call. He sends you his regards. Daddy also wishes you well again soon" Hans said.

"Send my thanks to Daddy," replied Ara quietly.

Hans nodded with a smile.

Ara had to be hospitalized for three days. During that time also Hans faithfully accompanied him. Jasmine and Evan daily came to visit and also replaced Hans to keep Ara for a while. Today Ara was allowed to go home. Keenan's coming to pick them up.

"Hans! Why did Beautiful Ma'am come home first and not with us?" ask Ara.

"I don't know. Maybe Beautiful Ma'am has some business," Hans replied a little indifferently as he continued to stare at his phone.

"Why is this guy? In the hospital, his attitude was gentle. But now it was suddenly as cold as the refrigerator again," Ara's inner being annoyed by Hans' change of attitude.

Their car entered the courtyard of the mansion. Hans helps Ara get out of the car. Even he did not let go of Ara's hand and swept her into the mansion.

"Surprise!"

Ara rounded her eyes perfectly.

"Mother," she shrieked as she wept and had been mixed with pleasure.

Lady Alexa and Bagas, Ara's sister, have been in the mansion.

"Yes dear. This is Mommy, Son."

Lady Alexa hugged her beloved daughter.

"Ara misses a lot, Mother," said Ara as she sobbed.

"Mother misses you too, baby. Mother apologizes for not being able to accompany you when you are sick," replied Madame Alexa with tears in her eyes.

"It's okay, Bun. Ara is healthy now. The presence of Mommy here will make me healthier later," said Ara while chuckling.

"Sister Ara! Bagas also misses."

"Here, hug your brother. Brother misses us too, Dek." Ara stretched out her right hand so Bagas embraced.

Hans smiled faintly. Her heart was happy to see a happy smile on Ara's face.
