That afternoon the sun was emitting its rays so brightly through the gaps of lush foliage along the way. Marni is seen holding Bayu in a warm embrace. The little boy was still in a limp state but was already aware of his stings. Suda's car was speeding by devouring every bend and climb they encountered on the road.
Suda occasionally threw his eyes at his son who did not make a sound from earlier. His face was again filled with anxiety.
"Mom, how's Bayu doing?" Suda slightly sighed before a sharp bend in his pass.
Marni restores the position of Bayu who is somewhat downtrodden. Now the little boy's body is looking up at his father. "Sir, look Bayu is conscious, but.", Marni stops her words while looking at her busy husband with the steering wheel of her car.
"Thankfully", Suda answered short with a serious look staring at every bend in front of him.
The car sped up and left his house that was already invisible to the eye. About fifteen minutes to the house of Jero Mangku Sakti, the speed of the car getting heavier and slowing down. The road uphill and enter the dense forest area with trees with a dim light. Every now and then Marni's ears caught the voices in the distance that cut her heart. His heart started pounding with sweat on his body. The look on his face became more agitated after the cold wind made his hair stand up.
"Sir, is it far away?" Marni asked the question in a slightly frightened tone.
"For a moment also nyampe", said Suda tried to calm down with all the oddities in his car.
Not finished with all the peculiarities, Bayu who had been silent in his mother's arms began to shout. The boy was suddenly hysterical while looking away from the outside of the car. His hand pointed outwards which made Marni panic. Suda tried to slow down his car.
"Calm Mom, keep hugging Bayu. Don't let him look out of the car!" suda exclaimed trying to calm Marni who was already crying beside him.
"Mother, Mother there are a lot of creepy people there", again Bayu hysterically and continues to point out the car.
"Son, close your eyes. Don't look again" said Marni, calming her son who began to shiver in fear.
Bayu continued to cry hysterically without even opening his eyes. He was very afraid of the object he saw glimpsing outside the car. Seeing Bayu's uncontrollable state, Suda tancap gas drove his car at high speed. He wanted to quickly get to Jero Mangku Sakti's house. The roar of the machine split the silence of the street. The middle-aged man had resigned to Bayu's increasingly hysterical state.
After passing two sharp turns and a fairly challenging climb, the car has finally stopped. The car stopped right in front of the house with an old style that impressed far from the word luxury. The fence still uses a living fence with lush plants. In front of the entrance Bayu and his parents welcomed two ivory tiger statues as gatekeepers.
The family who were again stricken by this unfortunate step slowly while tidying their clothes. Marni wears a yellow cloth and a white scarf while Suda wears a brownish black batik cloth. While Bayu because he was a child only uses neat clothes and pants.
After entering the courtyard of Jero Mangku Sakti house, Marni's eyes saw the state of the house that was so quiet. Marni sees Jero Mangku Sakti only accompanied by his beloved wife, Jero Darsi. They seemed busy making offerings and some religious ceremony equipment.
Friendly, Jero Mangku Sakti invited Marni and Suda and their children Bayu to sit on the terrace of the house. The terrace of the house is not too spacious but very clean and neatly organized. Even without ceramics but still worth living in.
"huk huk, heeeemm".
Jero Mangku Sakti coughs while chewing betel chalk until his mouth and teeth look red. "Wait a minute yes, I still make a little offerings for later" said Jero Mangku Sakti while smiling to show his teeth red because betel.
"Well Mr. Jero", answered Suda short while handing over the offerings brought from home.
Jero Mangku Sakti's hand received the offerings and then he headed for his holy room. Moments later the grandfather came out and sat down next to Suda.
"Let's go, drink coffee just like tea" Jero Darsi suddenly appeared carrying three cups of coffee and a glass of tea.
Marni's face was confused by the glass in front of her. He had never had coffee before. Several times glanced at her husband who was still busy chatting with Jero Mangku Sakti.
"How is Bayu now?" Jero Mangku Sakti threw a serious question to Suda.
"Can Jero see for himself, our son is still often hysterical. Even this afternoon while on the road he had shouted hysterically", said Suda with a resigned tone and tired of all conditions at that time.
Jero Mangku Sakti immediately looked at Bayu with a serious gaze. Jero Mangku Sakti's eyes scanned every inch of the child's body. He used his inner eyes and began to see inside the child's body. Not until there Jero Mangku Sakti into the subconscious of the child.
The wind blowing slowly between the trees broke the silence. As Jero Mangku Sakti observed Bayu, not a single person dared to make a sound. It was as if the ants had stopped moving. Even flies away from their place.
"Heeeemmmmm", Jero Mangku Sakti took a deep breath after finishing observing Bayu's tiny body. "This wood, if there is no medical illness, is likely non-medical" said Jero Mangku Sakti.
"Nonmedical?" Suda looked confused while staring at Jero Mangku Sakti's face. "I don't understand, please explain Mr. Jero!"
Jero Mangku Sakti smiled and was not surprised by the attitude of Suda who did not know with this disease. Jero Mangku Sakti fix his sitting position closer to Suda.
"Suda, nonmedical disease is a disease caused by black magic" Jero Mangku Sakti told Suda.
"The black magic disease?" Suda was confused again.
"Look, don't get confused. Just follow the process. I'll help you later with my wife Jero Darsi. If I do have black magic, I will treat it immediately.
Suda came back dumbfounded as he was confused by all the sayings from Jero Mangku Sakti. His face looked maniacal and the hard strokes on his forehead signified a sense of curiosity.
On the other hand, Marni who embraced Bayu noticed her husband's behavior. He understands very well the situation of Suda like that. So he rushed up to Jero Mangku Sakti on the right.
"Okay Mr. Jero, we and our family will follow all the instructions of Mr. Jero. I don't want to bother and want all these problems sorted out".
"Alright then, let's go to the holy room, so that I can check more deeply" said Jero Mangku Sakti.
They finally walked hand in hand towards his sacred room Jero Mangku Sakti. Small room with white fabric on each wall. A sacred statue is setanakan there as a symbol of the almighty power of the Almighty God.
A silent atmosphere adorned the place. The fragrant aroma of incense and smoke began to billow in the corner of the room. Jero Darsi has prepared everything. The woman looks old but still energetic and deft when arranging various offerings in the room.
Jero Mangku Sakti began to take a stance sitting cross-legged with a flaming incense stick in his hand. His eyes closed while reciting some special spell stanzas. The gripping atmosphere was again seen with the grunting sound of Jero Mangku Sakti.
"Please sit over here. Bayu get closer here, because Mr. Jero wants to check it", exclaimed Jero Darsi to Marni.
Marni approached by putting on a scared face while slowly bringing Bayu closer to the side of Jero Mangku Sakti. "Pak Jero, this Bayu has sat next to Pak Jero" said Marni with a slightly frightened tone.
"Well, now everyone please shut up, I will check it out" said Jero Mangku Sakti while looking at Bayu's body.
The groove of special spells continued to echo from the mouth of Jero Mangku Sakti. Even now the fingers of Jero Mangku Sakti are unceasingly moving to point at Bayu's body parts. Bayu was a little frightened at the movements of the old man beside him.
After a while, Jero Mangku Sakti stopped his activities. He took a breath and put an incense stick back in front of him. "I have observed, this child also does not have a non-medical disease".
Jero Mangku Sakti spoke briefly which made the whole room confused. What disease suffered by Bayu to suffer like that? Suda and Marni start to get confused.
