Grasping Asa

Grasping Asa
Chapters. 16

The joy felt by Risma when her husband granted her request and request to make Sumartini's mother as her domestic assistant.

He went straight to the rented house of Sumartini's mother with her little son Ali. But, there was a small incident that happened while on the road to the boarding house of Sumartini's mother.

The muddy road was filled with mud, the smell of a comberan on the side of the road through which it did not dampen his spirit and intention to pick up Sumartini's mother.

Sometimes he closes his nostrils. The stench and various types of unpleasant odors mixed into one part in the slum.

"O Allah, Ali and his mother can live and sleep peacefully in this state" he murmured, holding his hand in his nostrils.

He shook his head as he entered the boarding yard where they lived. Rubbish scattered everywhere, clothes hanging filled the front room of the occupants. Maya then knocks on one of the doors of the room that is painted green.

Tok..

"Assalamu alaikum," said Risma who was still knocking on the door.

"Waalaikum salam" a boy replied as he hurried to the door from the kitchen and the bedroom.

The nearly fragile main door slowly opened and displayed the handsome face of the little boy who was only about eight years old. The boy smiled sweetly revealing his neatly arranged row of white teeth.

Alif wiped a little of his hand before grabbing Maya's hand for her to kiss her back.

Risma was not reluctant to extend her hand before Ali. He gently stroked Ali's slightly long, brownish hair.

"Who's coming, son?" shouted his mother Ali who followed his son who was saying goodbye to open the door.

Sumartini's mother after knowing who was visiting her boarding house immediately walked in a row to the door. Smiling sincerely towards the beautiful woman who was standing in front of the entrance of her rented house which only measured 6 X 5 meters..

"Come on Ma'am, sorry the room is narrow" said Ali's mother.

Sumartini's mother invited Risma to sit on the floor that did not rest. Ali immediately took the scabbard that she often used to sleep to make her seat Risma. Ali spread out the sarong and invited Risma to sit down.

"Please sit, brother, the floor is not too cold," bargained Ali who is still cleaning the dust that sticks on the mat.

Risma smiles at Alif's unexpected reaction and takes pride in Ali's kind and thoughtful attitude.

"There are many decks," said Risma sincerely while smiling sweetly at Ali.

"Sorry, Ma'am, we don't have a floor mat so just wear a sarong first" said Ali's mother.

Alif added a glove on the mat, also sat next to his mother on the mat.

Risma looked towards the inside eyeballs of Mother Sumartini who was like someone who was agitated. He then touched the back of Sumartini's mother's hand.

"Let's just accept Risma's brother's offer, than we have to stay here and every day see and hear people who fight because of losing gambling bets," said Ali who whined at his mother.

This was Alif's first request so far never the slightest intention or dream to ask his mother for something because Ali knew very exactly the financial condition of his mother who was only a farm worker who daily salary only.

"It's more important than living in a bad environment like this continuously and can have a bad impact on Alif's psychic and mental development." Risma Timpal.

"How Mak, just accept it well, Alif does not want to see there are mothers who fight with her husband every day," Alif increasingly whining to his mother.

"But, are we going to stay with Ms Risma or are we going back and forth to her house when my job is done?" He asked as Ms Sulastri lowered her head in embarrassment.
