How She Can Be Loved

How She Can Be Loved
Chapter 10: The Search

Kananga ran through the rain. It is now at the end of the village. Kak Asa and Grandma's house is far behind. The hood she had been using since leaving began to shake the wind, making her hair drenched in rain. That doesn't make him at all uncomfortable. Even a few times his legs slipped into the mud puddle did not make his running slow. Now he thought there were only his two sisters. As soon as possible his skinny legs kept running. As soon as possible before the bastards harmed his two younger brothers.

Elfad, Enrich, I'm coming. Please, hold on!

BRUCK!

“Aw!” The sound of a girl's scream after her body fell to the ground. Due to being too focused on thinking about Elfad and Enrich, Kananga accidentally bumped into the girl's body. Whether using what energy, Kananga's frail body was not at all shrewd after bumping into the girl. It was even the girl who was slumped.

Kananga turned to the source of the voice. How surprised he was to see the girl he had accidentally run over. Her clothes look neat, like noble ladies. Her silver-colored long straight hair decomposed beautifully framing her petite face. Her silver hair did not make her white skin look dull at all. Her lips and lips were red like roses. And more striking is the color of his eyes like pomegranate mirah. Real pretty. The beauty of the girl is unreal. Kananga's face while in her original body was often praised as beautiful, now not worth compared to the beauty of the girl.

“Ah! Miss, I'm sorry! Is Miss okay?” Soon Kananga awakened herself who was busy admiring the beauty of the girl. He stuck out his hand, petrifying the girl to his feet. Instantly her face panicked to realize that the girl might just be the daughter of a noble. If his parents knew, a dirty creature like Kananga had hit their daughter until she fell on the muddy ground. Let alone going to save Elfad and Enrich, getting out alive from this village would be impossible!

After quickly checking the girl's condition, thank goodness there were no wounds on her pure white skin. Kananga breathed a sigh of relief. Hurry up to help the girl clean the mud from her fancy dress.

“Thank God Miss is fine. Sorry, lady, I'm in a hurry. Then I'll go first! Bye!”

Kananga lightly waved her hand while running away as fast as lightning leaving the beautiful girl who had not had time to say a single word.

The eyes of the spirit of the pomegranate round in shock and confusion pay attention to Kananga's behavior. He tried to stop Kananga running, but it was too late. Kananga's thin legs were much faster to leave her with her hands still hanging in the air, hoping to reach the seedy girl's frail body.

“That boy.....He can see me!” Mumbled. Recollecting the panicked face of the little girl. His long black hair that was pinched in two so as not to disturb him moved looked messy. Her green eyes that look contrasted with her hair color.

“Do-not...” The beautiful girl realized something about the slum girl who had just hit her.

“It looks like this is going to become even more interesting.” A sly smile adorns her thin red lips. No need to chase that slum girl. Because it was the fate of the slum girl herself that would bring her before him once more.

Immediately after Kananga's departure, Asa's sister unceasingly looked out the window. It looks like a puff of smoke out there has now been swept away by the swift rain. The red sky did not dare to peek from the sidelines of the cloud cloud. His face was not calm. He continuously bent his eyebrows. Several times he tried to divert his anxiety by talking to the villagers. But it didn't work. He was not tired of looking at the window.

“As. Your forehead will wrinkle like Grandma's forehead if you keep going like this. ” Grandma who had noticed the behavior of her grandson who had not been a few minutes to continue staring at the window finally decided to reprimand him.

“Come. Let grandma heal that bruise on your face.”

“...No need, grandma. These bruises are nothing compared to their condition.”

“Grandmother knows you're worried about the three boys. Although Grandma herself did not know what the boy was planning, but trust Kananga this time. He could definitely save Elfad and Enru.” Grandma saw the gaze of Kak Asa who was still locked out the window.

“Not only those three kids I'm worried about, Grandma His voice answered Grandma. His face bowed.

“Nek?”

“Ya?”

“Is Grandma okay?”

“....”

Grandma didn't answer Asa's question. Actually his body now felt like it was being slowly burned. He remained silent because he did not want to make his only granddaughter worried.

“Granny magic poisoning, right?”

Kak Asa's face was now staring straight at Grandma's face. Again Grandma could not answer anything.

Magic poisoning. Characterized by the appearance of blackish patches and stains on the skin. It can happen when one uses too much magic, even more so on a large scale. Grandma did use healing magic to stop the bleeding of the injured villagers. But when he healed Kananga, Grandma forced herself. All the wounds, broken bones, scratches, and even bruises that disappeared from Kananga's body were paid for with the consequences of Granny being poisoned by magic. Plus his half body that was already unable to use too much magic.

“Hah..This old body has now limited Grandma to help others.” Grandma sat down to rest next to her grandson.

Asa can't say anything. Now he could see the black patches on Grandma's body clearly. Asa bit her lips. Realizing the worst possible chance he might face soon.

“Actually, why did Grandma help Kananga get this far?”

Grandma started to smile softly.

“That's because..”.

Grandma's voice fused with the roar of rain outside the window. It sounded thin, almost eclipsed by the sound of millions of water droplets pounding the roofs of their simple wooden houses. Confused, was the only expression left on Kak Asa's face after hearing Grandma's reply.

The sky is no longer gray. Along with the rain that began to subside, Kananga arrived in front of the forest. His shoulders are up and down. He was still busy adjusting his breathing after running for some time amidst the heavy rain. He pulled a shabby bag of burlap given by Kak Asa from his shoulder. Scraped a scrap of paper from inside the bag.

It was a map made potluck by Kak Asa. Starting from the mine where Elfad and Enrich were held, to the direction to the border of the territory of Duke Ambrosh and Duke Ishtarnia. All succeeded, Asa explained clearly on the piece of paper.

“If I could run as fast as I did, I would have made it earlier than I expected.” Kananga muttered to herself.

Kananga raised her head. A torrent of orange began to fill the horizon. His gaze was then directed towards the forest in front of him. The lush foliage that was difficult to penetrate the sunlight made the forest look darker.

Kananga let out a long breath.

“Better to move before it really dark.”

Kananga once again started running. It felt like he would never come. His leg skin may have been scuffed and peeling behind his shabby shoes. The one in his head right now was really just his two younger siblings. Even the pain in his toes was not enough to make him stop thinking about them.

The frail body kept running. Darting on the path that is deliberately made by residents to hunt and look for plants in the forest. Two-three times hit by a bush that blocked his path.

Quick.

Faster!

Don't mind the others!!

The sun is no longer visible on the horizon, leaving a moonlight that can not much through the lush leaves of trees in the forest. It's been a quarter of a trip down that forest. Since then Kananga began to hear the footsteps. Whether humans or wild animals. Makes him more alert. He began to slow down his footsteps and decided to take a short break. On his rogue was a dagger he had prepared from inside his shabby bag. Not yet had time to sit under one of the shady trees, Kananga heard the footsteps of a group of people who came from his left, forcing him to climb and hide on top of the tree.

Who're they? What are the villagers? Or the son of a bitch, Baron Ledger? The question was unceasingly coming to his mind.

Just as they were under the tree where Kananga was hiding, Kananga was finally able to see and listen to their conversation. There are about five grown men down there. Wailing is like looking for someone.

“Sial! instead of being able to relax, the damn Baron instead commands us to look for another child.”

“Hei! You're not the only one who wants to relax! I too!”

“Up is also not much, but it must be extra work like this.”

“If you know like this, I won't betray the villagers! They'll kill me if I get back to my house!”

The four of them chimed in on each other. It seemed like the greedy Baron was not a good leader for them. They constantly complain. Their hands did not move, forgetting that they were looking for someone in the dark forest. As they let their guard down, a kick was thrown into one of their stomachs. The man complained, coughed, surprised to suddenly get a kick from his own partner. None of them dared to protest. The three of them could only help the person who was now slumped on the ground to stand up.

“Shut up! You guys are so noisy! If I ever again hear your rantings, I'll rip your rotten mouth out!” A burly man chimed their babbling with threats. Like locking their mouths, none of them dared to babble anymore. It seems that man is their leader.

“Bos, shouldn't we go back to the guard post?”

“Hah?”

“Day is getting dark. The forest is too dark. Only a little moonlight could penetrate this forest. Besides of...Even if we don't find one of the children left, he could have been torn to death by a bear. If it does not return, our own lives bet” Timpal someone in the search group who is brave enough to voice his rational opinion.

The forest is indeed famous for a herd of ferocious bears that will tear apart anyone they target. So far, no one has survived after meeting the herd of bears. If it manages to run away from a bear then another bear is chasing and attacking them. Their pursuit will not stop until the man is torn to shreds. Walking in the forest at night is like challenging death.

“ARGH!! You don't understand how valuable that one little boy is! Baron Ledger has promised to give us seven times the wage! You forgot?!”

Their leader was very naive. Or maybe he was just stupid. He would have believed in the sweet promise of a greedy man like Baron Ledger. Even his men had known that the sevenfold wage was just a sweet promise. Where would that greedy Baron pay them so high. Even the wages promised to them when they became the greedy Baron's henchmen had hitherto not been paid off.

“But that is if the boy is also a dark resident. No one can guarantee it!-“ Accidentally that person raised his voice. Resulting in one hard blow landed on his cheek, but unlike his partner, the blow did not make him fall on the ground.

“From yesterday they mentioned the little boy. Are they looking for me?” Kananga muttered with a voice that of course the group of people who were fighting each other could not hear him.

They were just focusing on capturing Elfad and Enrich. How could they know of my whereabouts?

Kananga was busy guessing why now they were targeting her as well.  In the meantime, the fight still continues down there. Even after the poor man's face was bruised and swollen. Looking at the fruit that could still stand after receiving his punch, the man was even more furious. He started pulling the collar of the poor man's shirt to the point of choking him a little. The poor man complained.

“You! You dare to raise your voice to me?!! Do you want me to beat up like those two little boys?! One is just acting pretty cool. Just getting hit once has fainted. The other one was very annoying/He kept shouting His sister would come to his rescue. You're as noisy as those two boys. Do I need to kick and bang your head to the ground so many times for you to be silent like those rancid brats as well?!” Shouted the burly man right in front of his subordinate's face.

The fighting is too strong. Take that poor guy. Even his other three subordinates could not take it off.

In the midst of their chaos. Kananga. Looking blankly down. To that burly man. In his hand he held the dagger that he had taken out of his shabby bag tighter and tighter. That frail girl, she really wanted to eliminate the man. Now either. Even though his body was frail, with that kind of weight alone coupled with the pull of gravity, it would have been able to stick in the dagger in his hand onto the man's back. Kananga started preparing to jump down from the tree with a dagger in her hand. No matter the other four adults. His mind was completely empty when he heard what the man had done to his younger siblings. Only anger controls him now.

Just before Kananga jumped. A cold chill began to envelop the bodies of the five adult men. It was as if there were predators lurking around them. Their dispute now turned into alert. Their feathers stood up hinting something dangerous was eyeing them.

The cold was none other than a little girl who realized that she was stalking them from a tree. The coldness comes from Kananga's killing instinct. Prepare to destroy the target.
