I'm the Newspaper Seller
15. A Delicious Dinner

Bastian stepped his foot back home. He did not even intend to return to the Master's place of the newspaper because he was afraid that the two thugs would not be arrested by all the police who were chasing him earlier and would complain about what he did to Master the newspaper and the tissue he had thrown into the streets. Still good if Joy took it if not then maybe he would have been checked by the newspaper master for throwing the newspaper and that of course everything will cause losses because of Bastian.

Bastian happily took turns to go home. There was a sense of happiness emanating from his face. His smile was still non-stop. This time he was really very happy while occasionally looking down at the items that had been given by Mr. Dewantoro.

Bastian deliberately chose some foods such as some packs of noodles, soap, various snacks, chocolate and many more. For Bastian this is a rare thing. He could no longer afford to buy this food so much, not to forget also he bought a pack of rice that he might be able to eat in the next few weeks.

A good time for Bastian will not come twice may come but the circumstances are different. That makes Bastian not waste time and opportunity when Mr. Dewantara told him to choose what he likes in the supermarket.

So Bastian happily chose a good and very important food and some cough medicine for his mother. In his heart Bastian was unceasingly thinking about what his mother would think if she knew she had a cure for him today.

Be happy? Of course Bastian had guessed what his mother would say. Bastian's steps swallowed as he stared in confusion at his house that looked so dark, no lights were illuminating him.

Now the time has shown at 08.00 pm but why the mother has not also turned on the porch lights of the house when usually if Bastian comes home lights on the terrace are always on.

Bastian now feels uncomfortable with this situation makes him quickly step up. His footsteps stepped one by one step on the stairs and with great difficulty because the items he carried were so heavy.

Bastian's heart was beating rapidly. Fear haunted him. He quickly opened the door and shouted trying to find the figure of his mother who was never seen.

"Mama! Mama!" shouted Bastian who traced through each room.

Bastian opened the door to find his mother lying on her bed. He placed the item on the lip of the door and ran in to his mother who was still asleep.

"Mama! Mama!" bastian shouted that was so hysterical, but the hysterical scream was silent when he saw his eyes open.

"Bastian? Why yell?" his mother's annoyance made Bastian breathe a sigh of relief. Finally what he thought was not in line with what was going on at the moment.

His mother is still alive making Bastian feel more relieved.

"You're coming home so late?"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry Bastian but Mama will be happy because Bastian has plenty of food for Mama" said Bastian then grabbed a large bag and opened it wide in front of his smiling mother.

His face paled and his eyes looked soft.

"Today many people buy newspapers?"

"It's not Ma, it's it's from a good man."

"Yes so early in the morning Bastian nolongin Pak Dewantoro."

"Mr Dewantoro?"

"Yes it's a rich man, his lost suitcase was stolen the same 2 thugs. Bastian pleasein, well this is a sign of gratitude to Bastian."

"Other times if you help that person who sincerely do not want to be loved as a ginian later thought you would call him just want to be given this."

"No, Ma. Bastian has refused but Mr. Dewantoro maksa. Yes already mendingan Bastian also delicious Ma Bastian can be picky goods sold in the supermarket," clearly the story makes Mama can only smile when hearing Bastian's explanation even more when he tells when the chase scene between him and the thugs is so very exciting like hearing a drama scene what's on TV, it's a lot more interesting than he thinks.

Bastian was getting excited in telling everything when he saw his mother who was so enthusiastic when listening to the storyline.

Tonight was a lot happier for Bastian because the food Mama cooked was so much. Several bowls of noodles are available, the rice that smells because the rice he bought from the supermarket is not the same as the rice sold by koh Li in his shop.

Tonight they dine so happily that once in a while Bastian and his mother laugh as Bastian recounts his funny story hiding in a garbage can until the smell of smoke is smelled.

Tonight was so very different, the happy look of her mother seemed to make herself so happy. A rare moment and a smile that Bastian misses every day.

This is what Bastian wants forever is to see his mother smile. There was no crying, no tears, no hiccups and no words of regret that his mother would throw every day.

Bastian is very lucky to be grateful to have met the man named Mr. Dewantoro. If he hadn't helped her maybe he wouldn't have had a good meal tonight and made her happy like this.

Her mother may have said not to ask for her reward to Mr. Dewantoro but she was one-sided she was also happy to be able to eat good food tonight even as she prepared for sleep the funny story and also at the same time tense this moment as if it can not and will never be forgotten by Bastian until anytime.

The scene that he always only saw on tv-tv happened to him. Bastian hugged his mother's body tightly propped his head against her warm arms. The smile that they made became a lullaby when he could see the face of his mother shining like the moon tonight.

The look on his face was slightly different, much more radiant than usual. Yes it might be because tonight he had eaten a good meal. Hah, that food turned out to affect the state of one's heart.

In his heart Bastian thought that hopefully he grew up and became rich and then could give good food to his mother so his mother would never cry because she thought of his poor life.

Bastian also wants to be rich like Mr. Dewantoro who apparently in the suitcase contains red money that he just took from the bank. If he became a rich man, his life would not be like this.

He will of course put his mother in a branded hospital where there are so many professional teams of doctors and nurses who will make Mama recover and not sickly like this then they would of course live a much better life than what he felt like this.

This is a hope, a small hope from the newspaper salesman's son.
