IN-LAW

IN-LAW
His passing made me hate him

That afternoon the sky looks dark, the wind blows along with the rain spots make the temperature cooler, monsoon rain in this city is still going on. This time in the season of blessing a family is mourning even the sky that looks darker as if to feel the suffering experienced by the family.

" ... For thou art of dust, and thou shalt return to dust ..."

As the funeral procession progressed, a priest gave advice on how to treat wounds and tears from those left behind.

Varga Sadah, still continues to sob even more heart-wrenching sound for anyone who hears. He hugged a picture of his wife after the big hole was sealed shut to the ground. His body trembled on the back to whoever was behind him. So also with Nisa in-laws her tears no ceasing to unravel. But among those who grieved there was a man who stood looking calm under a black umbrella with black glasses closing his eyes.

Even though he looks calm, it does not mean he does not grieve. Perhaps it could be said that his heart was more broken than those who lived without a request so difficult to give.

Twelve hours ago he was seen without a burden, laughing loosely with his three friends. Laughing at the people around him who look ridiculous to plan to end his teenage years in a Bar as a sign that they are not ABG anymore. But the plan was scrapped shortly after he got word from his mother by phone.

Ring --- Ring---- Ring---

"Yes Mama, "said after pressing the answer sign. Gesticulating through his fingers at his friends was being turned away to make room for him.

"Ra ...," Aralia frowned in a voice from across there sounding sad.

"Mama, what's wrong?" He felt something was happening.

"Rena's in the hospital, your sister's in surgery." Nisa said uninspiredly, from that tone Aralia could feel there was sadness implied there. For a moment of silence Ara waited for her mother to say something but only a heavy breath could be heard.

"Ara will be there, Ma." she said turning off her phone, Aralia regretted seeing her three friends who have now been staring at her.

"Friends I have to go home, sorry plan this time we cancel but if you want to go without me—,"

"What's wrong? We have agreed tonight we will try things we have never done, namely the party at the Bar." —ucap Cayrol excited

"Yes, you know I'm the most excited about it. But something's going on, ah----this is how my sister's going to give birth."

"And that's good news, right? We celebrate—," said Ilir no less spirit.

"Sorry! mama called me her voice sounded sad. Like I said if you guys want to go it doesn't matter" Aralia said with a sad look.

"Maybe something happened. Go home! Next time we'll re-plan." Lea who was the most reserved among them patted Aralia on the shoulder, understood.

"Sorry ...," said Aralia.

The sky looks cloudy, while Aralia's body is only wrapped in blue sea jeans combined with white t-shirts clouds feel the cold wind that brings drizzle docked to earth. therefore, he chose to stop the taxi rather than ride online transportation such as motorcycles in case the rain will fall.

Hospitals in this city do not stop coming to people who are interested. Aralia, who had set foot there, took wide steps towards the waiting room where her mother was. It didn't take long to find the place after getting directions from the information section in the hospital lobby.

There the two people looked agitated, Aralia approached without making a sound.

"You've come, dear." Nisa said with a small voice and quivered.

Aralia nodded her head to take a sitting position next to her mother, stroking Nisa's arm trying to calm the fifty-year-old woman down to look calm.

While the tall man not far from him repeatedly rubbed his face while stepping back and forth waiting with anxiety.

Chequelek

A nurse suddenly came out of the operating room.

"The patient asked her husband, her mother and her sister to enter the room for a while."

the three summoned people looked at each other, it should not be so. And what makes Rena have to call them together.

"The doctor will explain it later inside, sir."

Without waiting for a long time the three followed the nurse into the cold room.

"Honey, "Varga rushed over as soon as he saw Rena who was still attached to medical devices. Holding Rena's hand while kissing her forehead very gently.

"Hun, Ra." His voice was small with a sad look, looking tired and pale.

Hearing her name on the call, Aralia took her hand off the arm of Nisa who was staring at the swaddling red baby inside the small bed. Then approached Rena who was lying weak.

The moment Rena opened her mouth, she wanted to say something but looked very heavy. From the corner of the woman's eyes that had just given birth was a tear that made Aralia confused.

"Sir .. What's wrong?" aralia asked, Rena's eyes unblinking looking at her with a sad look. A moment of silence, Varga, Aralia and Nisa were confused by Rena's cheering gaze.

"May ... ." Nisa said, stroking Rena's feet but because of the anesthetic effect Rena did not feel the warmth of her mother's hand.

Both of Rena's hands moved, taking Aralia's hands on her left side and Varga's on her right side. Grasping both hands and saying.

"Titip our pu-daughter, she's so sweet. I want you two to take care of him. Ara my sister be mother baby i-it. Please."

"What are you saying!" Aralia reluctantly releases her hand from Rena, not believing what she heard, while Varga shakes her head to tighten Rena's grip.

"So please ...." Aralia shook her head, refusing.

Rena was silent, revealing a fond look, and lastly looked at the red baby in the small bed in the room. Slowly Varga felt Rena's grip relax, her hand no longer felt Rena's motion.

"Rena."

"Sister."

"Re."

The three voices simultaneously called out in panic. There is no statement or movement from Rena.

Varga screams for a doctor. Aralia stepped back without turning her gaze away from Rena.

Instantly the room became a place of lamentation.

Nisa banged her chest tight, her tears could no longer be contained.

Varga tried to resuscitate Rena by patting his wife's cheek. While Aralia he sat down after his body stuck to the wall. Crying until her little body trembles. The girl hugged her legs, seeing the pale Rena in the medical team's hands.

The crying grew louder when they heard the doctor say.

"Remote the hour of his death. The patient is gone."

It was a sad day, a painful day for the families of Nisa, Varga and Aralia.

Rena is gone, the woman who gave birth to the beautiful baby is now gone with a smile and a sense of calm. He managed to struggle to make the man he loved become a father, making a woman he loved become a grandmother and, whether the request will be fulfilled or not, surely Rena has asked for it.

Families gathered to hold a funeral and until then the rain was still falling.

Dark clouds are too cruel to hide the bright rays of the sun, as well as Rena who is so willing to leave the people who love her.

Some families have left the funeral. Likewise with Varga and Nisa they helped other families leave the place. But Aralia was still standing under the black umbrella staring at Rena's already alkaline gravestone from the drizzle.

"Aku membencimu." Katanya tak dapat menahan tangisnya hingga kembali pecah.
