Kino VS Ellis

—Keith PoV—

Unfortunately, the negotiations between them did not go well because Ellis was quite stupid and in a hurry. This was a bad situation for the three of them as they had to take the path of violence. Kino, anyway, wasn't too much of a problem because he was used to being in critical situations, but for the other two, I doubt they could help. Worse than that, the two would only become a burden and instead hinder Kino who made them both become meat poles. This is a gamble at the beginning of the game!

*set!*

“Hiya!” Ellis without hesitation directly ran forward at Kino.

“You two back off. I'll deal with it.” In contrast to Ellis, Kino slowly stepped forward.

*glash!* *trank!*

Ellis slashed down using her sword, but Kino shifted the slash to the side using her wrist.

I don't know the details, but as I recall in episode two of the Kino no Tabi anime he seemed to be hiding some sort of iron or solid object behind his sleeve on his wrist. This made him able to fend off the slash attack from the sword as long as it did not exceed his physical strength or possess unreasonable magical power. Fortunately, this was only the beginning of the fight. His hand would be instantly cut off if Ellis used his Elemental Waffe.

I don't need to worry if Ellis will use the Elemental Waffe. This was in the real world, not Astral Zero. Unless he wanted to kill Kino, he would not activate his elemental weapon. By the way, “waffe” in German can be interpreted as “gun”. So literally, Elemental Waffe means “elemental” weapon. If you ask me how I speak German, it was an interest lesson when I was in High School.

“What?” Ellis was shocked as she was thrown to the side.

Kino is a few years younger than he is. He had not expected at all if Kino could make such a precise attack to divert his attack. Because of the momentum of his movement that states that “an object always maintains its position”, then he is not easy to change its position from moving to stopping. This is very dangerous because it opens up its weak point. Although it was only a moment, it was a fatal move.

*bom!*

“Hek!” Kino with her flat face directly hit hard on Ellis' stomach.

*sret!*

Ellis flinched backwards a few meters.

Kino's fighting style is actually more oriented towards speed, agility, and accuracy. It was rare to see him fight on a direct attack like this. Does his hand not hurt when hitting like that? I didn't take too much care when because I was just a mosquito repellent in this place. Also, Kino knows himself better than I know him. I have no right to comment.

“Uh. I don't know what someone as strong as you would do in this place, but I'll stop you!”

“I'm not that great,” I think that's what's in Kino's heart.

Kino was silent with her flat face staring at Ellis. Basically Kino is just a wanderer from the middle of nowhere while Ellis is a noble daughter. The background between the two of them was too much different between not being very clear. This is also very unfortunate when it comes to losing to someone unknown. It must be that Ellis' pride as a knight was destroyed at this moment.

*glash!* *slash!* *slash!*

Ellis continued by making a few deadly slashes using a real sword. On the other hand, Kino was agilely avoiding all those slashes using a very minimalistic movement. He cannot move recklessly or both loads (Miko and Rikka) will be hit by the fight. At least, both burdens have been displaced to safer ground.

A real sword, made of iron, sharp and deadly. I know he got the sword from being a Sylphid knight, but can't he use his sword more carefully? He would become an assassin if the sword were to slash someone's neck. Not to mention in front of her was a girl that was several times easier than her. Does he feel sorry for his opponent? Is this an example of juvenile delinquency?

“Do not constantly dodge! Attack me if you dare!” snarled Ellis while continuing to swing his sword.

There might be a normal person willing to be hit by such an attack!

“As you requested.”

*set!*

Kino easily lowered his head when a vertical slash came at him. Then, he used his position to scuttle Ellis's leg and make her fall.

“Ah!” Ellis lost her balance and fell.

*bom!*

Utilizing the momentum when Ellis fell, Kino used one of her pistols to hit Ellis' hand causing the sword to slip out of the hand and be thrown into the air.

*stab!*

The sword pierced the ground when Ellis Fahrengart fell on the ground. He was defeated by Kino. In actual combat, when the enemy has a chance to kill you, then it is your defeat. So too with Ellis' current condition. Disha had already fallen and was cornered by Kino so he could not give any further resistance. Although he could, he had originally lost because Kino had plenty of chances to kill him right now. The only thing that saved him was, because Kino did not have the purpose to kill.

"So, do you still want to continue the fight?" asked Kino while pointing her gun at Ellis.

Ellis herself still did not know what kind of weapon it was. All his life, this was the first time he had seen such a short weapon with such a blunt shape. Despite not knowing what the weapon in front of him could do, he could feel a feeling of wanting to kill from Kino's flat face. For some reason, this was described to her who was speechless in disbelief on the ground when lying down.

One from the ranks of the Sylphid knights had been defeated from a stranger of unknown origin? This would be one of the black stains in knight history. Still mending if the enemy is strong and known as a dangerous individual. But that is not the current condition. Ellis's opponent was just a person with unknown origins.

"You still haven't won!"

*wush!*

After all, wasn't Ellis' Elemental Waffe a spear? It was only natural that he was so weak when wearing a sword. Other than just relying on physical strength, he did not fight using his favorite weapon.

"Uh…." Kino exhaled softly while taking a few steps back.

He knew that the people of the world had magic, so when there was a strange phenomenon, he could guess that it was not something that was in accordance with the laws of physics that he had been familiar with. Actually the motor that can talk is also strange, anyway.

"Sister!" A giant eagle appeared near Ellis in the next second.

Needless to say, it was Ellis's contract spirit named Simorgh. By the way I also know if his name is taken from a mythological creature Simurgh. Well, this one is quite famous in other stories, games, or whatever. Oh, in addition, his Elemental Waffe form is a spear named "Ray Hawk". So I know that this creature is an eagle despite having some distinguishing features from the original eagle.

"Hmm. so it's your contracted spirit, huh. I need to be more careful from now on" muttered Kino.

"Get him, Simorgh!" Ellis without waiting anymore directly ordered the spirit of this contract.

*wush!* *wush!* *wush!*

Dozens of wind blades shot towards Kino as Simorgh flapped its wings.

Simorgh itself has wind elements and has the ability to create a variety of sharp wind blades that can cut the skin like mothers cutting onions. It is better to avoid it unless you are confident in your defensive abilities. Other than this wind blade, its speed should not be underestimated.

*tap!*

"Huh." Kino ran into the trees when he saw dozens of wind blades coming at him in high speed.

*glash!* *slash!* *slash!*

Some tree trunks and leaves were cut off just like that when the blades of wind passed through them. This attack was very dangerous when Kino was hit. Careful, Kino-chan!

*dor!* *dor!* *dor!*

Several shots were fired by Kino through cracks from tree trunks. He shot with a rifle in his back. I had a little trouble knowing its existence because of the dense trees around it. Oh, I know. He entered into the forest trees to hide his existence from the opponent. He also tested the power of Simorgh's attacks through damage to tree trunks.

Next, the shots hit Simorgh's body, but the eagle is still flying in the air. Worse, as the previous attack of Kino's position becomes revealed. He is vulnerable to being targeted in the next attack.

*Shelf!* *Shelf!* *Shelf!*

"Sister!" Without caring about all the trees there, Simorgh went ahead and cut down all the trees in the path.

*chuck!*

A few white light particles gathered on Kino's shoulder and formed his contracted spirit. The dove spirit was formed and just stayed there.

Using the spirit to fight the spirit. Sounds like something nice and makes sense. However this would not be as easy as it seemed, as Kino's property was only a low rank spirit. It would not be comparable to Simorgh who could make dozens of wind blades in one flap of wings. The size of the two of them is also very different, although both species of birds and birds.

"Let's start, Legna," said Kino flatly as he stared at the dove.

The legna? So that was the name of the contracted spirit. Not a bad name, maybe.

*nging!* *tap!* *tap!* *tap!*

In a short time, Kino's body looked radiant for a while. After a while, his speed increased drastically. Wait, isn't this increase too strong? His speed was about five times faster than before. Also, it seemed like he did not expend any extra stamina when moving but the thrusting power from his speed made him stronger. Isn't this one of the cheats?

Kino along with Simorgh who followed him went deep into the forest. I don't know what happened between them because they were covered in forest trees that were too far away. All I know is the position of those I managed to trace through the path of destruction within the spirit forest. Well, Simorgh always destroys all the trees that get in his way.

Hm….

They were also in the forest for a long time. It's only a few seconds, but a few seconds it's a pretty long confrontation for a fight. I can't follow Kino either because I don't know what Ellis will do to them

Hey, look! These two people hid behind a tree and were wary of Ellis, while Ellis alone just stood with a proud smile on his spirit that could destroy the forest trees. It's okay, they're both amateurs. Miko Yotsuya has many spirit contracts that will help him in the future and Rikka Takanashi has a chuunibyou personality that will make him feel at home to be in this group.

Actually I want an ability that allows me to cure mental or mental illness. I'm sure stress and others will approach them all and they need help to solve their mind problems. It would be great to have some hidden skills.

*Syut!*

"Done already. This is the second time you've died." Kino suddenly appears behind Ellis after jumping several branches of the tree while pointing his revolver at Ellis' head.

Ellis fell silent by biting her lips. He was speechless after being cornered twice with his life potentially flying. That was great for Kino. I didn't expect him to be able to use his magical abilities just hours after making a contract with the spirits. Indeed, his contract spirit plays more of a supporting role, but he is also great at escaping from a spirit as strong as Simorgh.

Uh, the speed is very high to be able to escape from Simorgh which incidentally can move until it takes out the wind blades. I've invited a genius who can compete with an average ninja for less than 1,000 points. The right choice to invite him.
