"Loh you??''
Erna was very surprised because who came as a next door neighbor aka her new neighbor was a woman who scolded her at the hotel.
"Ka--you??'' he said stammering when he saw Erna.
"Who came Er?'' ask her mother who has appeared from behind.
"This, Ma. New neighbors in front of our house." replied Erna.
"Oh, Hello," Mother greeted him kindly.
"Yes, Mom. Here I want a cake anterin. I'm sorry I just met." he said a little clumsy.
"Well, windfall. Thank you so much." said mom.
"Yes, Mom, same thing. Then I'll go home first." he said.
"Eh, wait a minute. What's your name? We haven't met" Erna's mother said.
"Oh, yes, too. My name is Rani, Mom. If my mother's name is Ratih and my brother's name is Rafi." he said.
"Well, nice to meet you, Nak Rani. Tomorrow mom will go to the house samperin. May we be friendly neighbors said Idah with a smile.
"Thank you, ma'am" she replied.
"Yes, Son. It's my son's name is Erna." show his mother. Erna and Rani shake hands with each other in an awkward sense.
"If I'm called Idah, just call Ms. Idah" her mother said.
After talking for a while, Rani finally came home. After he entered the courtyard of his house, Erna and her mother entered the house. Erna immediately locked the door and turned off the living room lights.
"Well, get our windfall tonight" said Idah happily while smelling the aroma of the cake given by Rani.
"Yes, Mom. Thank goodness." answered Erna briefly.
"It seems to be true what the neighbors say, if Ratih's mother has divorced her husband" said Idah while opening the package of lemper cake and eating it.
"Hus..... Don't follow me like that, Mom. We assume we don't know" Erna said as she ate the cake.
"Yes, Son. I'll just say it to you" replied Idah.
"Oh, yes Mom. That Rani looks like she's met me." she said.
"Oh, huh? Where?''
"Ah, I forgot mom. It could have been someone's fault." replied Erna hesitantly.
It was very interesting to tell the incident when Rani met him at the hotel. But Erna could not bear to spread her disgrace. Let it be his secret. Maybe for the sake of connecting the needs of his life he was willing to work as a call woman like that. If one of his neighbors knew, it would be made of endless gosipan material by the mother.
After eating the cake that Rani brought, Erna and her mother immediately went into their respective rooms to rest. Previously Erna had installed an alarm so as not to be late besokannya. Although the natural alarm from his mother can be relied upon, however, to keep watch when his mother was also late to wake up because of soy sauce.
******
In the morning, Erna woke up without her mother waking up. After waking up, Erna immediately finished her bed. He was still relaxed because it was still 4 in the morning.
Wanting to go back to sleep but seeing his bed that was already tidy made him reluctant to damage it.
Erna prefers to go to her mother's room. He slowly opened the door and pranced to get inside. He laid his body beside his mother who was still asleep while hugging her. It feels so comfortable like that.
"Why did you leave me and Mom? Every time I ask you, you'll never answer my question." he murmured inwardly. Until now, Erna no longer asked for whereabouts because she did not want to make her mother sad.
Ever since they were abandoned, the working mother slammed her bones to support them both. The land and the house they now occupy has not been paid off when the father left. They almost got kicked out of there, but his mother took a loan from the bank and paid it off. To pay installments at the bank, he worked as a sewing worker whose salary was very fitting. Erna was educated at a public school whose tuition was not too expensive. But his mother still had time to take care of the certificate of not being able so that Erna could be free from the cost of SPP school.
Almost five years Idah worked hard to repay bank installments. Until he was sick at that time. Erna was still sitting on the bench of Junior High, only able to cry seeing her mother lying on the bed. I wanted to quit school and help her work but was banned.
Not only is it the difficulties they face, the neighbors in this neighborhood are also less supportive. Erna and Idah have always been the subject of their daily chats. They are both like celebrities. Moreover, Ms. Nunung, he was like a trance if he did not speak their name for a day.
The sound of birdsong woke Erna and her mother from sleep.
"Hey, how are you here?'' asked her mother a little surprised and confused.
"Hm, can't you, Mom?" erna asked with her eyes still closed due to sleepiness.
"Wake up there, you don't work?''
"Today Erna is off" she replied, then turned around to hug her feet and sleep.
"Oh yes, right. It's Sunday." replied his mother. "But remember, the schedule of washing clothes" he added again.
"Ah, lazy ah, ma'am." whining.
"Yes, you wear dirty clothes again to work." threatening Idah and then out of the room. ''Don't forget to clean up mom's room too, son." she cried again.
"Ahh, let me just try to sleep in my room. It's possible that I won't be given a double job like this." he grumbled.
With a sense of laziness, Erna woke up and cleaned her mother's room. After tidying up, Erna was able to get out of there and go to the laundry. He took all the dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine he bought a few months ago. When he began to move, his sleepiness began to disappear. Until waiting for the clothes to be finished in the milled, Erna cleaned herself to be fresh in the morning.
"Good, Son. Girls can't be lazy." Idah said as Erna rinsed the clothes she had washed in the machine.
"Yes, Mom. Erna is not lazy." she replied in self-defense.
"Well, that's smart." replied Idah smiling.
Erna immediately dried the clothes she had washed earlier. Today the weather was very good, so surely the clothes he was washing would dry quickly.
"Hey, you?''
Erna turned to her left and right when she heard a voice like someone was calling.
"I'm here" said the voice back.
When Erna's eyes looked towards the corner of the fence, then she was surprised because Rani was already standing there.
"What's wrong?" asked Erna while waving the clothes that want to be sunburned.
"Can we talk?'' tanyakanya.
"It's also been talking." Erna replied casually.
