Last Pack Rice For Nabila

Last Pack Rice For Nabila
God Knows People Better with the Fragrance of Heaven

"Dek-Dek, look, what did you bring?" After receiving citrus fruits and grapes, Raga immediately met Nabila.

"What is Brother? Ugh, the yellow one I've eaten, but the little one I don't know."

"The yellow is an orange, if the purple is a grape. Delicious and segery, you'll love it." Raga gave it all to Nabila. "Wanna try? Which orange or wine?"

"That wine, Brother."

Raga separated the wine from the stalk, then gave it to her sister. "The rest is saved first, yes, Brother wants to work again." Not Raga does not allow Nabila to eat more, but more alert to naughty children who could have robbed them of valuable fruit.

Raga walked into the market area again. 'My Lord, thank you for your sustenance today.'

In the afternoon, Raga washed the clothes in the dam water, drying some of the cloth on the dry twigs. Her lips expanded when she heard Nabila singing and laughing cheerfully playing by herself.

Really, nothing makes Raga happy other than seeing Nabila's laughter and happiness. Whatever he'll do for his little brother.

"When don't you take a shower, Dek?"

"So, brother, I'm still drawing fish."

Raga sat on a fallen tree branch. His tired back rested on the solid wall as a bridge support, while Netra clearly looked at the golden orange in the west direction.

This afternoon Raga was so calm, they already had quite enough food rations. One piece of rice with a side dish of chopped chicken, citrus fruit and wine given by a kind mother and two loaves of bread for the ration of sahur. The menu is simple, but it makes them grateful.

At night, Nabila shivered in the cold. Raga awoke from being disturbed by her sister's movements, she took the initiative to justify the sheath above her little sister's body. When touching Nabila's hand, Raga tiptoed awake, it turns out his sister's body temperature again rose.

"Astagfirullah, you have a fever again, Dek." Of course Raga panicked. He ransacked the contents of the bag, looking for the rest of the medicine from the midwife at Puskesmas. Thank God, there are still two drinks left.

After helping Nabila take medicine, Raga waited for her sister until the time came. He remembered about his promise to wake Nabila for sahur, but what if Nabila's condition was feverish.

The next morning, although Nabila's body was limp and his body temperature was still warm-toenail, Raga was forced to bring Nabila back to the market. How else, only there is where to buy sustenance.

It feels reluctant to move, do not have the heart to leave his sister alone near the trash can in a bad state. Raga clasped Nabila's thin palm, and stared at her sister's lethargic face.

"If not pa-pa, brother," said the little boy, as if he knew his brother's worries.

"Sister is back soon. Remember, first eat the bread, then you can eat oranges and wine. Dhabisin doesn't pa-pa, because you don't like it." Raga switched to stroking the head of Nabila.

"Why do you not like all good food? In the past, when Amak and Father were there, Brother always took food when," said Nabila.

'That was it, Dek. Now, I'm willing to starve as long as your stomach is full, ' Inner Raga.

"Sister now often has no appetite. Brother prefers to eat bread and flour from the rest of the fritters. Delicious and savory."

"Em." Nabila. Age that has not even five years is still easy to be given understanding.

"Sister go first. If it's hot, it's covered with cardboard, yeah."

"Yes, Brother."

"One more time, pray for Brother so that today's sustenance can be smooth to buy rice wrap side dish rendang same hijab," he added.

"Ready! If you must pray Brother continues." Engraved a smile from Nabila's lips, making Raga smile and a little relieved.

Shortly after, Nabila changed position and looked around. Always speechless when looking at the scene that made his heart scream with envy.

Little children his age look happy clutching toys and delicious snacks. Wearing nice clothes, and shiny shoes, bando pony that makes the more beautiful. Not only that, but Nabila is more envious when children his age can still join hands with his mother, held and guarded.

"Mrs …." Nabila throbbing with tears filled the corner of the eye. He misses Amak very much. His family life used to be short, but he and his brother never lacked the affection of both parents. That is what makes Nabila really miss the caress of Amak's hand when carrying and wiping it when going to sleep.

"Hey little boy! What's in here? Want to get a junk car too? Move aside!" Someone snapped at Nabila in a loud voice, making the little boy shiver in fear while shaking strongly.

"You smell like shit, so rotten!" The other man is throwing insults. Both men turned out to be janitors.

Nabila retreated to the wall, the usual place her brother recommended to hide. It's his fault who wants to see the surrounding conditions, and now others can see the existence.

Nabila took the cardboard to close herself. She was terrified, if the two grown men took her and she would be separated from her brother.

His frail body was still trembling. Holding back sobs while calling out her brother's name.

From a distance, Raga, who had just dropped off a bag of groceries, accidentally saw a garbage can in a corner of the market being surrounded by people cleaning garbage workers. After receiving two thousand rupiahs, he rushed to the trash can.

"Excuse me, brother," said Raga. His sister's body is invisible, but behind the cardboard that stands it looks tiny fingers Nabila that pops.

"Daddy," call him.

"Sister .. hua .. When afraid, Brother."

Raga was surprised to hear Nabila cry. "Ssttth, this is Brother. This Brother. Why?" He put away the cardboard and grabbed his sister's body.

"Pantes stinks of garbage, his brother also looks like garbage" said someone made Raga turn his head. But the faces of the men were invisible, covered in huge trash cans.

Raga's heart thumped, eager to shout mockery to the man who felt himself clean, but again he was made aware by the harsh reality. If he fought back, then his recovery would be cut off. He could have been forbidden to set foot in that small market.

Raga turned to look at her sister again. He murmured, "Sir, God knows better, where the people smell the fragrance of heaven and where the people who just feel most righteous."

"Sir …." Nabila's sobs are still being heard.

"Yeah, yuk, we're out of here. Let those people clean up this place first. Tomorrow, if you sit here, it doesn't smell like shit."

"Get on Brother's back!" Raga's orders.

Nabila stood up and was about to go up to Raga's back. "Sister, the orange and the wine fell. The plastic is hollow," he said.

Raga picked it up and put it in her pocket. Then take Nabila away from the trash.
