Legendary Fighter
26. A beautiful daughter-in-law

It was seen that two middle-aged people were sitting while continuing to stare at the closed door of his residence, they were Zhou Hu as well as Zhou Qian.

Since a few days ago, Zhou Qian had always stared at the door of his residence, he still believed that his son was still alive and would return, he did not want to leave his place, he wanted to welcome his son.

Zhou Qian did nothing but stare towards the door of his residence, Zhou Hu who saw his wife like that felt sad and also felt guilty, for whatever reason Zhou Fan went to the dead forest to have heard his story and also to allow Zhou Fan to leave as well as himself, he naturally felt this had something to do with him.

"Qian'er. You must rest, the day is beginning to night, you are here from morning, I am also sad to lose our son, but you need not be too dissolved in your grief...," Zhou Hu tried to persuade his wife to rest.

Hearing her husband's words, Zhou Qian stared intently at her husband.

"My son is alive, I'm sure he's fine and I'm sure he'll be back, too." Zhou Qian said angrily to her husband for considering his son dead, he would not believe his son's death before seeing his son's corpse.

Zhou Hu who felt that he had wrongly said something immediately approached his wife.

"Hmmm.. what you said is true, let's rest first, if tomorrow our son comes home he will be sad if no one welcomes his return." Zhou Hu still continued to try to persuade his wife to rest.

Hearing her husband's words, Zhou Qian seemed to think and finally he decided to rest, but he would not leave his place.

Zhou Hu could no longer force his wife, he could already breathe a sigh of relief because his wife was willing to rest.

Without waiting for a long time Zhou Qian had already fallen asleep in his place in a lying position.

Zhou Hu, who saw his wife sleeping, approached her and gently kissed the top of his head.

"I'm sorry, Qian'er....." Somehow Zhou Hu felt more guilty when he saw his wife's sadness, even in a state of sleep though still shed tears.

Looking at his wife who looked cold, Zhou Hu thought about getting her a blanket.

Just as Zhou Hu was about to go to his room to pick up a blanket, he was startled by the sound of someone from outside his residence.

"Dad, my mother's coming home...,"

Zhou Hu was surprised when he heard the scream, not because it was so loud, but he was very familiar with the sound of the shout.

Zhou Hu quickly rushed to open the door of his residence, he could see a young man who was standing not far from him was putting on a big smile.

"Fan...." Accidentally the word came out of Zhou Hu's mouth upon seeing the young man before him.

"Fan... Are you that, son?" Zhou Hu tried to make sure that the person before him was his son whom he had longed for.

Hearing his father's words, Zhou Fan only displayed a faint smile accompanied by a small nod.

Seeing the young man's reply before him, without waiting for a long time Zhou Hu immediately approached and gave a warm embrace to his son.

Zhou Hu was very happy when he saw Zhou Fan in front of him, he was happy to see his son back safely, he was happy that his wife would not be sad anymore and he was happy that his family would be back to how it was.

"Ehem..." Seeing the yearning loose event between the son and his father, Wei Guanlin actually did not have the heart to damage it, but he felt forgotten about his presence.

Zhou Hu who heard a deheman turned to the source of the voice, his forehead shriveled when he saw a beautiful young woman standing behind his son.

Zhou Hu turned his head to look at his son with a complicated gaze, as if asking for an explanation.

Zhou Fan who forgot Wei Guanlin's whereabouts felt bad for the woman.

"Mh... Father, this is Wei Guanlin, the woman Fan'er met in the dead forest." Zhou Fan tried to introduce Wei Guanlin to his father.

Zhou Hu was shocked to learn that the woman met her son while in the dead forest.

"Good night uncle..." Wei Guanlin did not mention his name because Zhou Fan had introduced him.

Who is this woman, what is she related to her child and why she followed her son, Zhou Hu kept thinking about it.

"Dad, where's mom?" Zhou Fan glanced inside the residence.

"Owh... Your mother was inside, just fell asleep. Your mother was very sad when news broke of the death of a young man in the dead forest." Zhou Hu said as he invited the two of them to walk in.

Zhou Fan only silently heard his father's story, he followed his father's footsteps from behind.

"Look, your mom looks skinny, she hasn't been eating for the past few days." Zhou Hu glanced at his wife who was asleep in the living room.

Zhou Fan looked at his pale-looking mother, who was sleeping, immediately approached her, crouching beside Zhou Qian.

Zhou Fan grabbed his mother's hand, and he muttered softly. "I'm sorry Fan'er, Mother."

Zhou Fan stood back up, he could not bear to wake his mother, he turned around and looked at his father.

Looking at his father's gaze, Zhou Fan seemed to know that his father wanted more explanation, he invited his father to talk, but before that he had delivered Wei Guanlin to a room reserved exclusively for guests.

In the backyard of the fifth elder's residence...

Zhou Fan answered all the questions his father asked him.

Zhou Fan explained his life in the dead forest, but he did not tell about him getting a relic from his teacher, nor did Zhou Fan say that he had now reached the level of a 5-star master fighter, either, he only said that he was now able to cultivate because he had found great luck.

Zhou Hu who saw his son like he did not want to say the great fortune that he could not want to force to tell him.

Zhou Hu thought there might be someone who mandated his son not to tell anyone.

"Dad is happy if you can cultivate, may you become a strong cultivator in order to protect the person you want to protect." Zhou Hu congratulated while cheering Zhou Fan on.

Hearing Zhou Hu's words, Zhou Fan was moved, his father remained the same, a man who always encouraged him and always supported his decision.

"Thank you, thank you for being the best dad for me." Zhou Fan hugged his father, his tears that he held so as not to drip even out loudly.

Zhou Hu grabbed his two shoulders and kept them away from his body.

"Here you go. Now tell me about your beautiful father's daughter-in-law." Zhou Hu said as he rolled his eyes.

Zhou Fan did not refute his father's remark that Wei Guanlin was his son-in-law, he recounted his encounter with Wei Guanlin, although he also slightly added to his own story to cover up his abilities.

As for helping Wei Guanlin, Zhou Fan did not tell of giving her homemade pills, but he helped Wei Guanlin treat her wounds with the help of herbs that she could make ointments for.

Zhou Fan did not tell his strength and ability to his parents because he wanted time to answer them all.

Without the father and son noticing, a woman was watching the two men closely.

That woman was none other than Wei Guanlin, he was very bored in his room and he decided to go out on the street around the residence but when he arrived at the backyard of the residence he saw him who he had just met a moment ago.

Wei Guanlin heard all of Zhou Fan's stories to her father, a sweet smile etched thinly on her lips as Zhou Hu said himself as her son-in-law and her smile grew wider as Zhou Fan did not refute his father's remarks.

Wei Guanlin left the backyard with a smile engraved on her lips, she was seen humming while stepping her feet into her room, for some reason she felt good to hear Zhou Hu say he was her daughter-in-law.
