After the funeral was over Anthonino came to Isabel's residence of course to provide moral support as one of his closest people.
With a faint and desperate look Isabel spoke softly. “If anything happens to me in the future will you help me?”
“Help you?”
“Will you keep Lidya?”
Anthonino did not answer Isabel's question. At the age of eighteen and Lidya, he was not ready to accept the responsibility of looking after a girl who was growing up. Moreover, Anthonino can be said not to have a job, he is only a student at an Academy.
“Trust me, nothing will happen to you.” At least it was only words of support that Anthonino could provide.
“But all the charges lead to me.”
“You didn't do it Isabel, so why are you afraid?”
“I didn't do it. But I was holding the knife, I was shocked when I saw the knife stuck in my husband's chest,” Isabel said as she sobbed.
“Trust me, the police will take care of everything you will definitely be free. Police will find out who the real killer is.”
“If I'm free Will we marry me?” Isabel looked into Anthonino's blue eyes with a look of hope.
Anthonino. Once again he was only eighteen years old, he had no plans of getting married that quickly. Married a woman who was twelve years older and had a daughter who was fifteen years old. Sounds kind of silly.
“We'll think about it later, don't think about it now.” Anthonino stroked his chin.
“I love you, I love you so much.” Isabel reveals her heart.
“I know,” says Anthonino. Isabel has repeatedly said she loves him and wants a divorce from her husband and then married Anthonino, although as far as eight months of their relationship Anthonino never agreed to Isabel's invitation to marry.
A few days later after the mourning period was considered over, the police came to interrogate Isabel.
After the interrogation is over Isabel calls Anthonino on a phone call. Not long after that Anthonino came to see Isabel as he wished.
“Police said they would arrest me if no other evidence was found in the investigation. All the evidence incriminates me, the kitchen knife stuck in his chest no trace of fingerprints other than mine.”
Anthonino just quietly listened to Isabel's sad story, he also did not know who the real culprit. He cannot just conclude.
Silence rang out for a moment, before Anthonino opened his mouth to voice his question. “Where is the kitchen knife?”
Anthonino tried to calm Isabel, grasping Isabel's fingers to give Isabel strength.
“There is no trace of another fingerprint he knives it,” Isabel said in between her sobs.
“Patience, the police will find the culprit. Sooner.”
“Not me, I really don't know who the real culprit is. Now my daughter she lost her father, I don't have a job. How could I kill my own husband that doesn't make sense. At least even though I wanted to get divorced from him when we divorced, my daughter still has her life because she has a father,” Isabel said.
Anthonino let out a breath that felt so heavy. “Isabel, can you be honest with me?” Anthonino looked into Isabel's eyes that looked puffy by tears.
“You don't believe me either?” Isabel slightly narrowed her eyes, the look of the eyes that radiated from her eyes implying disappointment.
Seeing the look in Isabel's eyes that seemed disappointed because she doubted Isabel, Anthonino said, “not so, but believe me even if you did I won't report to the police.”
“Maybe no one will believe me in this world. You're not even Nino.” Isabel exhaled her breath which felt tight squeezing her chest.
“Rest. I'll be back to see you tomorrow.” Anthonino patted on Isabel's head softly.
But unfortunately the next morning when Anthonino was about to return to meet Isabel, things changed. No one thought it turned out that what Anthonino met there were civilians and police who were crowding in the front yard of Isabel's residence. Isabel died, she ended her own life.
A week later, police said Isabel's husband's killer was her own son. The motive was quarrel because the son of his first ex-wife wanted the division of inheritance.
At that time, Anthonino felt only regret because he was the closest person to Isabel. But he himself did not believe Isabella, doubting Isabella. In other words Anthonino felt it was he who caused Isabel to end her life.
The only thing he regretted was why Isabel couldn't wait any longer to prove her innocence he took a shortcut.
Anthonino had enough to regret all that, he did not believe Isabel and he almost made a second mistake. He could hardly believe Keiko's words, his wife couldn't possibly lie. As far as Anthonino knew Keiko was a pure girl. Now Anthonino is doubting Inessa.
Was her mother always acting so innocent in front of her was Inessa wearing a disguise in front of her?
Anthonino's head felt pulsating at the thought of Inessa the woman who raised him, first the dress, then the tea. When handed over the packaging the tea was in a neatly sealed state, where did it get poisoned? allergy or what you call it! Anthonino racked his brain looking for a way to investigate Innesa.
