“Zia...” call umi from outside home.
“Iya umi briefly.” replied me.
I got out of bed and walked out of the room with a medium-sized suitcase and a small bag. In a hurry while running small I approached my two parents who had been waiting since an hour ago.
Umi just smiled amusedly at me who was troubled to bring the items that had been prepared yesterday afternoon and Abi swiftly arranged directly into the trunk of the car. Then we went to the pesantren.
Btw, my name is Aziana Zahra and is commonly called Zia, the youngest of three children. Today is the day I will start a new life after graduating from junior high school (SMP). At first I refused to be put into the pesantren, why? Because I think only given a fairly conservative education even many rules that make less sense than my old school and high school in general. But what power I live in a family that wants its children to get enough religious education. Both my parents are determined to enter the pesantren world, because for them this is one of the best ways for their children to gain better religious knowledge. Both of my brothers who had graduated first, even they were included when after graduating Elementary School (SD) and now they are studying abroad.
...****************...
In less than two hours, we arrived and were at our destination. I got out of the car carrying a suitcase while walking a bit lethargic. From the front of the parking lot looks a slightly outdated gate, and simple, but inside there is a clean yard. How not, just imagine that I am tired, where I have to live with a tighter education than at home when with my own parents. While following them through the hallway to head to the main office. Some santriwati passed by while glancing at me while smiling kindly at me. But still this self feels like a run away after seeing how they dress, a hijab that is long enough to cover the hips and while I am used to ordinary clothes, just plain, not too short or long and the hijab is raised to the shoulder to display the shape of the body. Very different from this place.
“Take care of yourself here, don't make a fuss.. Umi hopes that with the entry of Zia into this pesantren can be a child who knows more about religion.”
“True..Abi also does not intend to force Zia to follow the footsteps like your brothers, but this is also for your good later.” continued abi
“ Yes Umi, Abi.. Zia knows kok.” I replied while nodding.
“ Yes, we have decided to go home, son.. Assalamualaikum.”
“Good, Umi.. Waalaikumsalam.”.
Immediately Umi walked out and I headed straight for the empty bed.
