Naruto: The Great Senju!
Chapter 9's

"Do you think it's possible for princess Tsunade to return and lead the clan again?"

Elder Oroki again said after a few short chats. Without a detailed explanation from Nakamura, he would not be able to understand it fully.

While Nakamura sipped the tea in his cup calmly, then looked at the elder Oroki.

"You should know more about Tsunade's daughter's attitude."

"Even a person like the third Hokage was unable to stop him from leaving."

"Especially just us for the same reason won't make it back."

Elder Oroki nodded and agreed, however that the stubborn temperament of Tsunade would be very difficult to persuade.

But Nakamura knew a few things, even though Tsunade did not have the intention to return, but his concern for the village was still high.

Unfortunately Nakamura had no hope in him, in short even without the presence of Tsunade's own daughter he would change everything.

"Yes, it seems so."

Elder Oroki's slightly wrinkled face showed sadness. All this time he had shown great hope to Senju Tsunade. But his efforts for days to months waiting for the return of Tsunade finally produced nothing.

Then he said back.

"In a few days, Konoha's Shinobi will be sent to the front lines to confront the enemy forces."

"Sighs... It is indeed a tough task, but Nakamura-kun I myself expect you to do your best."

"And after the matter at the frontline is over, I will tell my intention to some other elders to put you as the next clan head."

Well, as Nakamura who had foresight, he himself was not so surprised when a sudden hope was put in front of him. After all with his strength he was more than capable of leading a clan, and his intention from the start was to do just that.

What remains is how to convince people that he fits into the position. Using the battlefield to form a name was not a bad choice.

His goal was not only to convince the elders in the Senju clan, but also to show the world that the Senju would once again be at the top. That way everyone would think how the Senju in the past suppressed the Shinobi world, and people might say the new Senju Hashirama has appeared in Konoha.

"I'm glad you said that, but is it okay with that, elder?"

Nakamura said deliberately to see how deep the Oroki elder's confidence was in him.

Seeing the look on the face of old man Oroki who was firm and determined can directly answer his question.

"There's nothing dubious about you, that strength and maturity is enough to prove my choice is the best for the clan right now."

"Nakamura-kun, so far no generation has been able to gather in the Senju clan except you."

"That's why I decided to support you completely."

Nakamura was quite satisfied with the answer from elder Oroki. With such great expectations he should have done his best and not disappointed the other party.

"Alright, thank you very much for your attention to the elder."

"It's not an easy thing to do, but I promise I won't let you down."

"In addition I need the elder's help for something."

Saying with a friendly smile, Nakamura slightly shrunk down his mana that only the two of them could hear.

Elder Oroki slightly leaned his head forward, then said.

"What kind of help do you mean?"...

Undeterred, the night darkened, elder Oroki immediately returned home after finishing his conversation with Nakamura.

While Nakamura kept silent in his house and changed clothes and then rested with pleasure.

After today he might not be able to rest comfortably, given the call of war coming any minute.

That was how Nakamura spent two whole days resting and honing his fighting skills.

...

Dozens of people with Konoha headbands gathered inside the hall of the Senju clan.

They were some of the skilled Shinobi Chunin and Jounin that the clan possessed.

When compared to the Senju in the future, the current clan possessed several tens of times more Shinobi.

Before the Hokage summoned, the elders or clan heads in each Shinobi clan were required to coordinate every Shinobi they had. And the purpose of their gathering this time was to prepare themselves for the Fire Nation border.

"From tomorrow each of you will go to the frontlines of the Land of Fire!"

"I just hope you guys do your best and come back safely without any casualties."

"Well, even if it's a little misfortune... But fight."

An elder known as elder Jinchuro stood in front of the stage giving several short lectures.

Between the brief pauses of the lecture, someone raised a hand and asked a question.

"Elder, in this war who will be in charge with our clan's Shinobi? While Tsunade's daughter doesn't exist!"

A common but curious question among clan members.

Elder Jinchuro looked at each crowd in some time. When he was about to speak an elder beside him held back and whispered something.

"Chairman Jinchuro, regarding this matter I have someone right to suggest."

The two entered into private negotiations within moments.

"This? Who did elder Oroki mean?"

With curiosity Jinchuro asked back, while some members were curious about what they were talking about.

"Not that I've said this before."

Elder Oroki again reminded with a whisper that was not heard by anyone. Elder Jinchuro nodded after thinking for a while.

"While I and elder Oroki suggested... Senju Nakamura is in charge of the clan this time."

At that moment, some people looked back. It was as if something had taken their eyes off of him.

Nakamura was sitting in the corner very quietly without interruption, next to Tenji and Amaki who seemed to be wondering.

"But the elder, isn't this a bit careless by letting someone with minimal experience become the leader?"

Said a man who was several years older than Nakamura, he was Senju Katsuma. This person definitely had enough experience in battle so dare to comment.

Hearing these words some people nodded in agreement. After all, Katsuma's words are true, Nakamura in addition to being young he is also fairly minimal experience in terms of war.

Of course those are the ideas that have emerged if they are associated with Nakamura's daily life for the past fifteen years.

Besides what abilities he possessed so as to lead a group of clans in battle this time around. Being a Jounin is not enough.

"Don't worry, Nakamura-kun is indeed young but you don't need to underestimate his abilities."

"At the same time he will only be your representative while on the front lines, regarding the true leader will be handed over to the Hokage."

Katsuma was silent for some time after hearing the words of elder Oroki... But his true intention was not for this, it should be in this state that he was the most suitable to represent the Senju.

But why would a nearly unheard-of person suddenly become a representative. Katsuma wondered what qualifications Nakamura actually had.

He did hear that Nakamura passed a good grade in the promotional exam a few days ago, but is that enough.

Unfortunately he was unable to deny any further the elder's words. Senju Katsuma quietly complained and looked at the other party with a hint of bad feeling.
