CHAPTER 8. Permission to return to the City

The days of Faika were so hard and it took extra patience. Faika felt very uncomfortable with the gossip of people who always considered herself a pesky carrier woman. Not even a few of his own family who always cornered his decision that did not want to be polygamous.

Faika's mother stopped her work for a moment and then stared at her eldest daughter. Faika who was stared at smiled and hoped to be allowed to return to Jakarta City.

"Have you thought carefully and are you ready to go, son?" ask Faika's mother.

"Iye Bu, Faika has thought everything well, Faika does not want the Faika scholarship to be stopped if it is not as easy as returning to college, Ma'am" said Faika.

"If it's the best please son but, when your plan departs, because you hear from your uncle later on Friday there is a new ship entering the nak at the Port of Makassar," said Faika's mother while turning off the stove because the cooking was finished.

"Had not been able to get a scholarship maybe not yet to return to Jakarta, still want to be with Kita Bu," Faika said and hugged her mother's body.

"In that case, for a short night I will pack my belongings Ma'am, because this Rabumi Day," Faika said with pleasure.

"Bantuki duku Ibu prepare food at the table, if you please call me Father with your brothers son" ordered his mother.

After a while, the cooking cooked by his mother Faika was presented on the dining table. Mr. Rahman and his sister were at the table ready to eat.

Friday also came, Faika was ready to be delivered by her family to the Port. Faika is sad to have to separate from her mother, father and sister but, for the sake of her future Faika is forced to leave her family and hometown to the city of Makassar. In the city of Makassar Faika bought another boat ticket that will be used by him to go to the capital.

Faika said goodbye to both her parents. Haru's cry accompanied their farewell. It was heavy for Suarti's mother's heart to let go of her daughter's departure.

Not long ago the ship boarded by Faika, finally left the city of Wind Mammirik towards the capital of Jakarta.

Faika was very sad because for the time being she was forced to leave her family again.

Two days later, Faika arrived in Jakarta. Faika ordered a taxi online from one of the online taxi applications on his phone.

Faika returned to his old boarding house because before going to Jakarta City, Faika had already called Khadijah's mother if she had returned from her hometown. Faika intends to fill her room again. After almost 6 months of leaving his room.

The next day, Faika immediately went to the campus to take care of her lectures which had been allowed 1 semester leave. Faika was forced to leave college because, unable to withstand the burden of the mind from the problems and trials of his life.

Faika is optimistic to continue her studies and Faika hopes to still be able to get scholarships from the Government.

Faika passed the place she used to stop by with Rian. Faika recalled her memories with Rian. There were no tears falling down her cheeks. Faika felt a deep longing. Faika wiped away the trace of her tears and resumed her journey.

"Maybe this is the story of our journey Rian" said Faika who tried to smile.

Faika takes her phone to call Rian's mobile number but Rian's phone number is off. Until repeatedly he tried but, still only mobile operators who answer it.

"The number you are going to is off or out of range, leave a message immediately after the following bit tone."

"Maybe Rian's brother has worked so busy and turned off his phone number" said Faika who did not want to think negatively.

Faika also called her best friend's mobile number but, the result was that neither of them picked up the phone.

Faika went home to her boarding house to arrange and put her things in her wardrobe. He did not forget to stop by the Supermarket to shop for his daily needs.

Faika attended her studies with enthusiasm and optimism. After a month of living in Jakarta, Faika returned to work at Bakery Khadijah where she had worked before.

Such are the habits and life that Faika lives. Working with lectures and daily work. Time continued to pass until it did not feel Faika had undergone his lecture to the last semester, which was the eighth semester. Just counting the days alone Faika would take her script exam.

Faika intends after graduating from college, he wants to immediately find a job in the Capital and invite his two parents to move and settle in Jakarta City.
