Chapters 10. The Role of the Protagonist is Pathetic

Elisha was forced to marry Dodi to pay the debt when he was only 17 years old. Elisha even had to quit school because of it. During her marriage, Elisha was tortured and forced to work at her own in-laws despite being pregnant. Not to mention her husband who made her as a slave of lust made Elisha's life more miserable.

When she was nine months pregnant, Elisha was evicted from her husband and father-in-law because he remarried a rich woman. His sickly father also died at the same time.

His life is really sad but Kiara's birth makes him survive. Already driven out and humiliated to live in his own home even her husband often tortured her. Not to mention her husband's second wife often threatened her and treated her harshly if she teased her husband. Not only from her husband and family Elisha was also looked upon one eye by his neighbors because of his poor life.

The sad life that Elisha lived until finally died while trying to save Kiara but God said another body Elisha became the reincarnation of an Elsa Hoover.

"I feel like playing the role of a protogonic woman who lives a terrible life, in addition to having to take care of children I also have to teach the arrogant people a lesson," Elsa muttered in her footsteps.

The sound of lightning suddenly sounded so loud that it instantly sent down such a torrential rain. Elsa and Kiara ran towards the house not far from where she was standing.

A house that looks creepy because it is in the forest. Rumors circulated that the house had long been empty and haunted. Its location far from the settlement makes it never touched by humans because it is on the border of the village.

"Mom I'm afraid it's so dark in here." Kiara hugged Elsa tightly staring at her surroundings that were so dark without any illumination

"It's okay after the rain we'll go we take shelter first." Elsa clutched Kiara's half-wet body as well as herself.

"Armgh." A faint groan was heard.

"Mother that sounds what Kiara's afraid of." Kiara clenched onto Elsa's body.

"To-long." The sound was very slow but Elsa could hear it.

"Something seems to be asking for help" muttered Elsa. "Kiara wait here, I'll check what sounds in there." Elsa takes off Kiara's arms.

"But Ma'am later if something happens to mom how?" kiara lamented.

"No, wait a minute." Elsa gave Kiara some understanding. Slowly stepping in with no illumination made it difficult for Elsa to check.

"Excuse me there's someone." Elsa tried to say something to get a response.

"To-long." Elsa heard a voice so soft.

Elsa approached the voice but suddenly stepped on something with a groan. "God."

"Sorry I can't see anything you're human or ...." Elsa did not continue her words while feeling the warm body that signified it was a human not a ghost.

"Why are you here in the dark?" Elsa tried to wake the man from the floor. "What's this?" Elsa felt a thick liquid seep into her hand. Liquid that smells of rancid. "Blood, you're hurt!"

"I got shot in my arm, help me" said the man in a low tone. He's lost a lot of blood.

Elsa who used to be a doctor's school knows a little about wounds.

"It's a good thing you got shot in the arm at least you can still hold on till tomorrow morning." Elsa took out a scarf from her bag and made a knot in the man's arm so that his blood wouldn't keep coming out.

"If it wasn't a lonely place because in the middle of the forest I might be able to take you straight to the hospital, but it's late and no cars are passing by." Elsa felt helpless as she could do nothing but wait for the morning.

Last night Elsa accompanied the man with Kiara until the morning to pick him up.

Elsa rushes to the side of the road to stop the car. Fortunately the car he stopped was willing to help him.

After an hour, the car arrived at the hospital. The man entered the ER immediately to be dealt with.

After paying for the treatment, Elsa and Kiara left. Elsa knew the man would be fine because his injuries did not endanger her life until she left him.

Notifications from the system are heard in Elsa's head.

Elsa and Kiara continue to step towards a luxurious apartment.

"Our mother will stay here?" Kiara looked up to the highest peak of the apartment building.

Elsa smiled. Hoover's apartment makes Elsa remember her past. The time with him was so loved and spoiled by his parents.

Elsa looked at a woman who came out with a man who was none other than her sister and her sister's husband.

"We should have done this a long time ago, all the assets of the Hoover family belong to us." The words came out of the mouth of Elsa's sister-in-law who accidentally heard Elsa when she passed by.

The couple laughing happily made Elsa think hard. "After I died they were so happy, what really happened and what the Hoover family's assets meant to be theirs entirely." Those thoughts raged in Elsa's mind.

"Mother!" Kiara's touch drew Elsa's hand. Several times Kiara called her mother but did not respond until she pulled her hand.

"We're in." Elsa holds Kiara's hand into the apartment's lobby.

This is where Elsa and Kiara's new life begins. A place that will make his life and Kiara much better.

After Kiara falls asleep Elsa opens her system to check.

"System open!"
