A Gift to the Former-In-Law

That morning was supposed to be a happy start for Yumi. She had just celebrated her parents' wedding anniversary.

While bringing pieces of cake to the office, Yumi said a prayer in her heart so that the love between her two favorite people continued to bloom and will never fade.

Today Rohani becomes the laughingstock of all employees.

"Yumi!" Fabian called Yumi and asked her to go to the room.

"Explain to me, what happened outside? Why is the face of the Spirit filled with cakes?" ask Fabian.

"I didn't do anything. I'm just doing what needs to be done" Yumi said.

For a moment silence approached the two. Until Fabian finally remembers something to give to Yumi.

"Ah yes, take this and give it to Papa and Mama." Fabian took out a black velvet box from his drawer.

"What's this?" Yumi's forehead wrinkled questioningly. However, he had not taken the rectangular box.

His eyes were fixed on the window that showed the beauty of Jakarta from out there.

"Yes, I know. But, why did you give my parents this?" reply Yumi does not like.

"Isn't today Mama and Papa's wedding anniversary?" Now Yumi understood that Fabian wanted to give her parents a gift.

Surprisingly, despite being separated for so long, Fabian still remembers the anniversary of his former in-laws. Not to mention his way of summoning the two old men Yumi had not changed at all.

As if still considering him a parent and in-law, Fabian called them Mama and Papa.

"You don't have to bother giving gifts to my parents. And yes, please keep your distance from me. I don't want everyone to know about our past relationships. Please treat me like a secretary. Not as an ex-wife!"

Firm and straightforward, Yumi's words pierced Fabian's heart. A little offended, but no problem. Fabian just smiled faintly.

"Excuse me." Then Yumi pamit.

"This woman is really stubborn. Does he think I'm trying to get close to him? I'm just trying to respect both of his parents" Fabian muttered in a slightly shrill voice.

Fabian made a big mistake. However, his love for his former two parents-in-law never faded.

Every year he celebrated his wedding anniversary. Although they have separated from Yumi.

Fabian has been very supportive of that relationship. Just because of the divorce, the bond slowly fades.

Fabian admitted wrong, the last eight years have taught him a valuable lesson. The loss of three loved ones at once made him confused and did not know the direction.

Fabian's life feels hollow. He regrets his decision to ignore Yumi, the ex-wife.

"Hiks... Hicks..." In the bathroom, Yumi sobbed slowly, remembering Fabian's often fickle attitude.

Eight years ago the man ignored himself, now through the two parents, the man seemed to want to establish a friendship like before.

Which woman's heart won't be broken if accidentally hurt. And which woman's heart will not hurt if her existence is actually considered as an impingement.

Yumi realizes it when she meets Fabian's ex-lover. The woman named Klarisa questioned the seriousness of Fabian in marrying Yumi.

As if to be provoked, Klarisa said, that Yumi is not the Fabian type. The man just made it an escape.

Fabian's love is still for Clarisa despite Yumi's attempts to win her heart.

And sure enough, after two years of marriage, apparently Yumi's efforts were in vain. His love is repented. The woman clapped her hand.

While sailing the household ark, only Yumi was trying to maintain a relationship. Fabian was busy with his own world.

Being an art lecturer is a surefire way to avoid the Wife. Many campus activities are deliberately Fabian gelut.
