BACK TO SOMAWANGI

Panembahan Somawangi kept the pieces of the Crystal stone in his shirt ties. He then returned to his father's grave. Pray for blessing because it will take a holy journey to the sacred land, Dieng Plateau. Flat areas above the clouds, bounded by mountains that are believed to be the land of kahyangan abode of the gods.

There are twenty-one mountains encircling the land of the Gods. The highest is Prau and Sikunir, while the lowest is Pemulan mountain which is said to be inhabited by Begawan Wanayasa, the father of Panembahan Somawangi. Kemulan is the name of the woman herself.

Begawan Wanayasa himself is believed to have transformed into a God. According to belief, the gods are the incarnations of brahmins whose majesty has reached the perfect level. The great brahmins who had become gods became the inhabitants of the Dieng highlands. They occupy a row of mountains that become the boundary of the cold area.

After completing his ritual, the Panembahan immediately began his ascent. The last time he came with Miryam, he still had a high inner strength. So not too much trouble. But now he had to fight on his own, from the beginning again. Just like when he was young he did.

After walking across the Dieng plateau he arrived at the foot of the mountain of Pemulan. This mountain looks so sacred. Located in the northernmost plains among the rows of dead mountains in Dieng, Mount Pemulan is still beautiful as before. So exotic and fascinating. At the foot of Mount Pemulan is the existence of waterfall Curug Plethuk.

Seven-story waterfall that is not so high. But the roar was so obvious it sounded from a distance. Like a vine snaking upward, the Curug Plethuk waterfall flow is so beautiful to see and admire.

“Hmm, I finally came back to see you, mum” muttered Panembahan while staring at the most beautiful waterfall of his life.

Curug Plethuk is a waterfall created by the Gods to fulfill the request of his father. The waterfall that became a symbol of the love of Begawan Wanayasa to his wife, Goddess Pemulan, which never runs out, but always flows and lives many creatures in it. The power of the waterfall is the core strength of Tirtanala studies.

One by one, he took off all his clothes. Without even a thread covering his body, the old body began to roll its feet into the water. The water temperature in the waterfall is very cold, below the lowest limit. Panembahan's body trembled violently to withstand the cold of the water. But his lips suddenly smiled, recalling the moment Miryam leapt back to land as soon as her feet touched the surface of the waterfall.

Panembahan continued to walk towards the waterfall. He did not care about the cold that attacked him. However, he suddenly recalled the God-given crystal stone stored within the bonds of his clothes. He turned back to the ground. Unbind it, then take it. He held it tightly to the crystal stone. He was sure that the power of the stone would be seen when touched by the power of Plethuk's waterfall.

After that Panembahan's feet went back into the water. For a moment he was as stunned. Strange, after he grasped the stone, the water became warmer, not as cold as before. There was a stream of heat flowing from the Crystal stone to all parts of his body.

He kept walking, then stood right under the waterfall. After reciting the prayers, he sat on a flat stone, like a hermit's place. The cold of the waterfall that fell right above his head really felt tormenting him. There was a battle of strength in him, the flow of heat from the crystal stone he was holding, against the cold waterfall Curug Plehuk.

Evening is approaching. The full moon shines so brightly in its perfectly round shape. Panembahan sat on his hermitage. Among the waterfall that was so cold, he forgot about himself. His mind drifted as if back in time. Recalling the good times of living with Miryam.

Recalling while on the way to the Dieng plateau they had to pass through the Damar forest. The forest contained hundreds of Damar trees that grew towered into the sky. They grow in the same order. That said, these dammar trees were the incarnation of the cursed warriors of the sky god. They only change once a month, that is, on the night of the full moon.

Miryam stopped, then took out her shawl. He covered his eyes and ears with the cloth and tied it to the back of his head.

“Then I close my eyes and ears, lest I hear and not look back, ” said Miryam.

Panembahan smiled at his wife's reply. Miryam was so good at getting around the situation. After closing her eyes and ears, she reached out her right hand.

“Now hold my hand my husband. Lead my way, so that I can survive to the destination as you wish,” he said later.

For a moment Panembahan was stunned, as if he could not believe his hearing.

“I am your wife. My safety lies in your hands, it is your responsibility,” Miryam said again. “Do you have any doubts about yourself? Or do you want to go alone without me?”

“Of course my wife. I will always look after you wherever we go,” he promised

Unknowingly Panembahan's lips smiled. How beautiful the words that came out directly from the lips of the woman he loved so much. So sincere and full of confidence, that her husband would keep her safe.

When the full moon reaches its peak, the miracle happens. Slowly, the waterfall Curug Plethuk turned into ice. Then everything stopped. There was no more running water, no more the sound of the turbulent pounding of water. All quiet. So cold and frozen. The body of Panembahan inside. Panembahan Somawangi has not realized that the power of Tirtanala has been reunited in his body, and made Curug Plethuk waterfall stop flowing.

A very beautiful sight happened. Under the full moon that pierced through the waterfall, there was a glittering white light surrounding his body. And the moonlight drifted through the grains of ice water that bounced back and forth into a spectrum of purple, red, blue, yellow and other colors.

A moment later the crystal stone within his grasp gave off a brilliant white light. It crept and enveloped his entire body, then moved it from behind the waterfall. In a sitting position, the panembahan-like body was flown to the mainland. The waterfall flows back as usual. Like nothing happened.

Slowly Panembahan opened his eyes. His dream of being reunited with Miryam, made his heart so happy. Then he stood up, put on his great clothes again. He tied the crystal stone with his cloth.

“Thank you mother, you have restored the power of my Tirtanal,” her inner self.

Panembahan Somawagi felt that his body was much lighter than before, even before he lost his strength. His eyes were closed, his hands crossed in front of his chest, then stomped his body. Floating back to Somawangi.
