I walk on the sidewalk. It's probably been ten minutes since I left the house. But it seems I'm still not that far away from the man's house I left behind. This wound made me walk slower than usual. Not that I'm used to walking slowly, but I prefer to blend in with humans for now.
For us vampires, as we age, our speed increases. We could go far across the city just by running and flying. But the supernatural power we only do at night. During the day we resemble humans in general. We drive cars and follow the fashion and technology trends of today.
To humans, we look fascinating because it is the vampire's natural feature where all vampires are handsome and beautiful. It was indeed a law of nature for our prey to feel fascinated by the beauty of our face and physique. But among the vampires, I am the most beautiful.
That night I walked around looking for a clothing store to find clothes that suited me. Some people walking around the sidewalk glanced at me. Maybe I look so weird because I'm wearing a shirt and pants. But it will all be forgiven by my beautiful face and my body is so perfect. Ah, I again remembered the scar beside my body, I was no longer flawless perfect. The thought bothers me.
I'll look for the Hunter once I've fully recovered. He will be rewarded for harming me. He should know that he attacked the strongest vampire here. He will regret his actions. For now I have to focus on recovering myself first. It will probably take me two days to get back to making my body feel fresh.
I saw a clothing store that looked deserted by visitors. It was the night I left that house. It means I fainted for almost 24 hours. Damnit. I immediately entered the store and saw that there were only a few people who were choosing clothes. Good though. It would be much easier for me to use my compulsion power in a quiet place like this.
I glanced at the cashier. There was a geeky looking young lady serving a buyer who was willing to pay. Usually a human with such appearance has such weak mental strength that there is no need to spend too much energy for me to be able to manipulate his memory and erase his memory of me.
I stepped back gracefully choosing a few dresses to suit my taste. After I was satisfied with picking out some clothes, I looked around to look for an opportunity. As the store began to get quieter, I walked up to the cashier holding a pile of clothes. This time I was forced to 'steal' because my unlimited credit card was in my house and this time I did not bring any money. I usually buy things with the money I have. I have abundant wealth and money because I have lived so long. But this time I was forced to act like a 'thief' due to an emergency. I approached the cashier woman.
"Good night." Sweep with an exaggerated friendly face.
I looked into his eyes and did my compulsion,
A few minutes later I walked out of the store wearing a violet dress with a few packs of clothes. I stepped gracefully along the sidewalk. Some of the men who saw me didn't blink because of my charm. I glanced at them and continued walking. I'm heading to a deserted place. Walking all this time bored me. I need to fly to get home. But I have to find a quiet place first. At the last turn of the road I looked around.
I walked behind the tall building that had closed. I examined the surroundings with the gaze of my eyes capable of seeing in the darkness and I listened to the sounds that my ears could catch from a distance that humans could not reach. We are creatures that can see in the dark and have extraordinary hearing abilities that are incapable of being captured by human ears.
I got to my house. How nice it is to be home alone after 24 hours lying helpless elsewhere. Not all vampires have the abilities I have. Only a handful of thousand-year-old vampires were able to transform into smog. But the transformation seemed to drain my energy. Maybe it's the poison effect of oak tree powder. The effect will last for approximately two days in my system. The hunter will pay for what he did to me. I clenched my hand with vengeance. How dare the Hunter attack me. He did not know that the one attacked was the Goddess of Darkness. He will soon pay for his actions.
I headed to my room and put some of the clothes I had gotten from the store into my closet. Even though I am a damned creature, I love the luxuries that exist in the human world. I chose a big, luxurious house to live in here. I also have various advanced equipment and some luxury cars with limited edition in my garage. I have a female servant who has sworn allegiance to me. He was a werewolf who had been sworn and could not break the oath. The ancient vows binding the immortal beings could not be broken even though they had to sacrifice lives. He heard me go back home.
"You're finally back." He ran up to me and stopped within a meter in front of me to see my condition from head to toe.
"I'm fine." Said soothing. To me he is not only a servant, but like a brother who has always been there for me. She looks after me like a sister looking after her sister.
"I'm almost crazy for worrying about you. Even your phone can't be reached." He looks so panicked. "What's going on?" Ask curiously.
"I had a little accident." I said briefly as I sauntered towards the refrigerator taking out a bag of cold blood. I sipped the blood and closed my eyes enjoying the pleasures of the human-derived liquid. I didn't answer. I don't want to worry him. I drained the blood and dumped the plastic bag in the trash.
"Don't be careless." His word. "Next time I'll accompany you out so that something like this doesn't happen again." His word.
I rolled my eyes hearing it.
"I'm gonna take a shower." I told her to leave me and stop looking at me with worried eyes like a mother looking after her child.
He turned and left me. All this time, only he has accepted me completely.
