CHAPTER 61 | Stop comparing me to you!

"Ah... thank ka—". His words stopped as his eyes scoured the face of the person who helped him as well as the person who hit him.

Instantly his eyes were round.

The man in front of him is his father Alessio — Nikolai Romanov!

He has the same eyes as Alessio. Also the jaw line, the only difference is a few wrinkles that do not reduce the level of good looks and authority of the man before him.

Nikolai's eyes follow the movements of Alessio's hand on Lyra's shoulder. His gaze was so sharp that it felt like Lyra wanted to just escape from there. Then her gaze turned to Lyra, and the girl almost flinched backwards by the gaze given by Nikolai. Moving further into Alessio's body behind him, Lyra sought comfort in her touch.

"Theseus". Alessio nods at the man behind Nikolai who Lyra had assumed was Theo's father.

Then do the same to his father, "Father". His voice was cold and devoid of emotion, a strange way to call out to his father.

"We'll have breakfast and discuss this". Alessio.

Nikolai and Theseus passed. But before that, Nikolai again gave him a creepy look at Lyra. His expression made Lyra's hair goosebumps on its own.

As soon as they disappeared from his sight, Lyra's shoulder descended in relief. The feeling of weakness is still there — although not as severe as before. The girl took her breath deep. Trying to calm his wild racing heart.

"You don't have to worry. They won't hurt you, and I'll make sure they do". Alessio's whisper in his ear.

"But they look very scary". Whisper the girl. His chest rippled by Alessio's low laughter behind him. The man placed a kiss on his temple, and Lyra turned and faced the man behind her.

"More frightening me?". Goda Alessio's.

Lyra shook her head, "No. You're more scary". Lyra did admit that all the men living here were extremely dangerous and had a dark and tense aura around them, but Alessio had the most terrifying aura among them.

"Are you scared too? with me?". Alessio asked, while pulling Lyra's body closer to him.

Lyra again shook her head, then grabbed Alessio's hand and kissed her knuckle. "No. I know you're not gonna hurt me"

Alessio smiled in satisfaction, then draped a strand of hair that had fallen on Lyra's face. "Goodle. Now you can have breakfast first, there's something I need to take care of with Father"

Lyra nodded. Then switch to giving Alessio one last kiss on the man's lips. "Bye bye"

Alessio let him go with a nod. Lyra also walked towards the park behind the north. The fresh morning air hit her face, and the girl closed her eyes.

"Who is he?". That was the first thing Theseus asked when they entered Alessio's private study. Nikolai gave him a sharp look.

Alessio knew who his father's right hand was talking about, but he chose to ignore it.

Alessio was waiting for Theodore in the back garden when Nikolai and Theseus came. He saw Lyra who almost fell and managed to be caught by Nikolai. Also how the girl froze when dealing with Nikolai.

His first instinct was to go to see Lyra. And he did it without thinking twice about the consequences. But Alessio was too late to realize what he had done.

Seeing Alessio who was still indifferent to the question. Nikolai asked again.

"Alessio, I'm asking you"

"And I chose to ignore it. Now, can we discuss why you're here?"

Alessio gasped a little when Nikolai suddenly slammed his fist into the table.

"That's none of your business!". Desis Alessio's. The man pushed his chair away, then stood up and stared intently at Nikolai. He saw Theseus and Theodore standing at the door, their hands crossed in front of their chests with their expressionless faces. Carbon copy of each other.

Walking around the table, Alessio pushed Nikolai away. "Don't interfere with this, I'm serious about it, Father. Don't tell me what I don't and should do"

"I taught you better than this. Throw away your heart. There is no weakness. Because weakness is the first thing your enemy will pursue". In front of Alessio's face.

"I know that!". Shouted Alesaio not to lose.

Nikolai laughed at Alessio—'s reply a mocking laugh. "You know? then explain the look in your eyes when you see it!"

Presumably, Nikolai is not finished with what you say. "That time you said he was nothing more than a toy you would throw away when bored. But what is this? you seem to be stuck in your own game"

Alessio stopped when he heard the statement from Nikolai. The man felt anger flowing all over my body. His father completely cut off his patience, forcing him to think far about what he had buried in him all this time.

"You know very well what will happen because of this, but you still let yourself be weak". Nikolai continued in an agitated tone. Alessio was glued because of his words.

"I'm not you!". Alessio roaring. Almost lost control and released his fist at Nikolai. But remember that now Nikolai position is much higher than him.

"That was your fault. Your fault. Not me!". Desis Alessio's. "You love mother. You brought him into our messed-up world, and you got him killed".

Nikolai's eyes went wild with anger. He's closing in on Alessio. His finger grabbed Alessio's collar and pushed his son against the wall. "You're right. It was my fault, and you made the same mistake, s*lan!". Nikolai removed his grip from Alessio's collar, then took a step away.

"After everything, I think you'll know better than this. You're gonna get him killed. And you're gonna lose yourself. In the end, you're gonna take this whole family to the plunge with you"

That's what happened in the past, Nikolai almost destroyed the kingdom they built, and Alessio was the one who made him rise again and save him. But Alessio will not make the same mistake as his father.

"Stop comparing me to you!"
