"Darling, sorry .. but you don't pa-pa will you go home alone? I have to go now." That night, Jio was completely shocked to get the sad news while he had to drive Safira home and apologize to Mother Romlah. But apparently there was a disaster that befell the Master so that he could not take Sapphira to go home.
"Well, what's up, Mom?" safira asked worried.
"You can go home first, honey. Later if my business is done, I will soon meet your parents, will not pa-pa go home alone?" Jio said softly, but the look on his face could not be hidden from deep sadness.
"Yes, not pa-pa. But you told me first, what's wrong? And ... Why did you change to black?" tanya Safira looked at Jio who had just come out of the walk in closet.
"Mister Erlan's grandmother died. I have to get there because he definitely needs me" Jio replied as he stroked the tip of Safira's head and then kissed it gently.
Safira was surprised, so he remembered the death of his father. Although Sapphira did not know Erlan well, the man was the boss of her future husband. Plus, Erlan was the man who almost slept with her.
Feeling bad for the sad news, Safira decides to go with Jio before he returns home.
"I'm coming, Mas. After that I'll go straight home." Jio could not refuse and agreed to Safira's request.
Jio also helped tidy up Safira's belongings which were just a few into a backpack then both rushed to the hospital.
Along the way Jio didn't say a word. His focus was not sidetracked from the wheel and his mind was completely muddled by the news. Safira understood Jio's attitude because Jio had worked for many years there.
Arriving at the hospital, Jio immediately got out of the car and half ran towards the nursing room of the person he had also considered to be the Grandmother. Even Jio had almost forgotten Sapphira who had come with him. Jio immediately turned around and clasped Safira's hand.
"Honey, you can go home immediately after saying condolences. Maybe the funeral is also tomorrow, so you don't have to stay here" Jio said, rubbing Safira's shoulder.
Seeing Jio like that, Safira could only nod her head then tailed at Jio.
The sound of crying in the room really makes Safira remember the incident several years ago when she lost her father.
Jio immediately grabbed Erlan's shoulder and Erlan hugged him instead. "Gue is sorry. You have to be strong for the sake of Madam and Miss, Er," said Jio while patting Erlan on the shoulder.
After a while of strengthening each other through hugs, they looked at each other and nodded slowly. Sapphira immediately approached Erlan with a sigh.
"I am .. sorry, Mr. Erlan," Safira said hesitantly and bowed in shame even though this was not their first meeting.
"Thank you," Erlan replied then turned her attention to her Mama.
Not long after that, three people entered the room. Sapphira did not know the three people and chose to leave the room full of tears.
Seeing Jio who was busy with his thoughts, Safira chose to go straight home without saying goodbye to Jio.
...***...
That night, the streets of the capital were quite tenuous because of the heavy rain. Safira stared out the dewy car window while thinking about how and what Jio was doing right now.
"I haven't thought about why I've been away too long with Mom. Moreover, Rendra must have acted in shock when he knew I was coming home later," muttered Safira still felt the car glass wet from the rain.
Halfway through the trip, his phone rang and it was an incoming call from Jio. But Sapphira chose not to accept the call because she did not want to add to the burden of her future husband's mind.
At exactly ten in the night, Safira arrived at her doorstep. His hand was restrained when he several times wanted to knock on the door so that the mother would open it. It can be ascertained if the mother must be resting in the room.
"Safira!" The call from the end of the alley near his house made Safira turn her head. A man immediately approached Sapphira who had been daydreaming at the door. "Where have you been for a few days, hm?" asked a man who was none other than Rendra.
Rendra is often deliberately playing to Safira's house even though it is just for pleasantries. Coincidentally he is also a Boss with Sapphira, just different professions. Safira as the guide and Rendra as the boss's confidant.
"Work, Brother. Where else," answered Sapphira a little pitched ketus. In fact, Safira had told Rendra many times to stay away from her because she was not interested in her at all.
Safira even said she was abstaining from falling in love with the man she lived in close proximity to the house she lived in. But Rendra is enterprising enough to get Safira's love. Even he said if the love came because it was used to meeting.
"What work? Our boss is leaving again and we're still in next week."
"It's none of your business, brother. I work anything as long as I get money for Mom's treatment."
"I've told you before, if you need money just say. I'll try whatever it is, why don't you go along, hm?"
"That's it, you can go home, brother! I'm tired." Rendra only let out a long sigh staring at the woman in front of him who was showing a look of dislike for his presence.
"Tomorrow I'm here, right? We'll take your mother for treatment. These few days I've seen your mother getting worse. You want to assume that money from me is a loan no problem. You can pay whenever you want."
"No need, brother! I have enough money to take care of my mother. So you don't have to bother coming here." Again Safira heard the man in front of her sigh long.
"Follow"
"Safira ... A rendra! What are you guys doing standing in front of the door like that? Where are you guys from?"
Safira and Rendra's attention was diverted when there was one mature man who came to approach the two.
"Bang Ferdi, don't get me wrong. It's just a coincidence" Safira answered Ferdi's question.
"I'm jealous if this is the story. You always refused to talk to me alone, and now .. You guys are still at the door. You also bring a backpack again," said Ferdi staring at the backpack carried by Safira then alternately staring at Rendra who looks not like the arrival.
"Jeez, Lord .. Please just take these two men in front of me. Their transfer to another dimension," Safira's inner self as she rolled lazily her eyeballs at Rendra and Ferdi who were clashing.
