Story At Night's
Soccer Goal Pole Guard

How do we know if a place is haunted or not? Most will definitely judge from the physical condition of the place. We have always thought that supernatural beings will inevitably occupy a dirty place and away from human activities. For example in old houses, cemeteries, caves, forests and others. But make no mistake, because it turns out supernatural beings also want to live in places we do not expect, maybe like a football field. And that was my experience a while back.

I'm Febri. I live in a house in a housing complex. At that time there was a ball game in my housing complex, because that time was ahead of the independence day celebration. I didn't want to pass this opportunity and immediately registered myself to participate. There was actually another race held, but I was not interested. After I signed up with my friend, we were formed into a team and then grouped again. I'm quite enthusiastic about the tournament and determined to win it. The day of the game arrived and I arrived on the field early.

At that time there were not too many people there, there were only a few cadet coral organizers who passed by and village officers who came. They are busy organizing the field. I just sat quietly beside the field watching their busyness.

Suddenly I want to pee. I'm looking for a quiet place to do it. I saw the goalpost at the end of the field. It came to my mind to perform a ritual, which this ritual could gain luck. I got up and headed to the goalpost. I looked right and left, deserted and no one was looking. I also urinated on the goalpost, which he said could bring luck. After that I went back to the side of the field and sat quietly.

Not long after that the field was filled with people who followed the race. My teammate is almost complete. Half an hour later after the event opened, the race began. First of all we have to face a team from a strong RT. I cheered my team up and said, "Just relax, we'll win!"

Sure enough, we won from them, even though the score was slim. The next match we won. As it was late afternoon, the tournament resumed the next day. Me and my teammates went home happy, having made it to the final tomorrow.

At night I slept well. But suddenly I woke up, I felt like there was a cold object touching my cheek. My reflex rubbed my cheek, and meant to recognize what it was, but my hand didn't touch anything. I changed my sleeping position, which had been sideways to supine. Suddenly I smelled a very foul smell, it smelled like a carcass, and the cold thing was now hitting my nose. Suddenly I opened my eyes and there was a pair of feet floating above my face. The feet move slowly to the left and to the right. I jumped up and fell out of bed.

When I looked at the ceiling of my room, there was a man hanging there. The man hung above the ceiling of my room with a rope wrapped around his neck. The man's head was bent to the side, his mouth was gaping wide and his tongue was sticking out. The man's face was very pale, his eyes glaring at me. The man then thrashed around with the rope still tied around his neck. He seemed to want to break away from the neck tie and he fell right on top of me, and everything went dark...

Both my parents told me what happened to the people there. My mother seemed to be crying while telling me that I was possessed. The people in this room are the oustad and the neighbors who have been praying for me ever since.

I immediately remembered the figure of the man hanging in my room earlier. I immediately told them. When I heard the story from me, both my parents and neighbors nodded their heads as if they had understood what happened. Mr. Ustad instead told me, if I was possessed like a madman. I screamed and laughed, and my tone was a little different. I spoke a little bit in a staggered manner and like a person who was suffocating. Then he said, I spoke while bending my neck. Ustad then asked if I had done anything strange lately?

I also told him that I urinated on a goal post on a football field. Mr. Ustad nodded, he already understood that. Then he told me that the ghost that entered me did not want to go. The ghost said, that he wanted to take me or make me die, because it was insolent to pee recklessly in his residence.

I was more horrified and immediately apologized to Mr. Ustad. He said I don't have to apologize to him, but next time I won't be alone.

Ustad then continued his story. In the early 70s there was a man who hung himself on the goalpost, supposedly he hung himself because he was fired at his job, then frustrated and could no longer support his family.

That afternoon I went straight to the field. I came not to play football again, but to apologize to the goalkeeper. I splashed the goalpost with a bucket of clean water that I was carrying.

Since that incident, I did not dare to go through the football field alone at night. I was afraid that if I looked at the goalpost, I would see a man hanging from the post.
