The Antagonist

The Antagonist

The presence of Ben, arouses Rachel's spirit after previously weakened. The first son of Henry and Margaret Taylor managed to fascinate him. For the first time since stepping foot in Atlanta, Rachel Merrin is not allergic to handsome men anymore.

"You're making me curious, Ben. I didn't expect you to steal my suspicions about Amara early."

Ben raised next to his eyebrows. "If I hadn't seen the awkwardness before my eyes, I might have denied your accusation to Amara myself."

"What exactly happened until you doubted Amara's status?"

"He likes me not in the sense of being a brother, but between a woman and a man."

Rachel almost bounced off the couch. His gaze traced Ben's facial line. Looking closely at the two thick eyebrows that overshadowed the pair of beautiful sharp eyes, she had a firm jawline that implied strong masculinity.

Ben's body is tall and well-built with reddish skin. Her blond hair is a little random, but it just looks sexy. Complementing it all, Ben is the favorite son of Henry Taylor, heir to the family company.

She's perfect! It's hard to turn your face away from Ben's charm.

Okay, I need to catch my breath now. Ben is handsome. Now focus Rachel, focus.

"When do you know this, Ben?"

Ben's eyes glared. "When I was working and Amara was just in college. She is often jealous of my boyfriend or the woman I am dating. At prom night, Amara asked me to be her partner and know what happened?"

"What?" Rachel's ears seemed to have grown twice as big as they should have.

"He kissed me all of a sudden and said he liked me."

"Huh," exclaimed Rachel in shock to not expect the aggressiveness of Amara and more than that. "Bearti Amara has long known she's not Gustevano's real daughter. It's evident he's in love with his own cousin."

Ben nodded small. "I thought it was because he was drunk. Okay, I managed to avoid Amara's kiss and ignore her expressions of love, but, next comes the report of the woman who dated me about Amara's bullying as well as my last boyfriend who said, when he was in a car accident, previously saw Amara being around his vehicle. I'm suspicious, but I don't have any hard evidence."

"Do you have any idea of ascertaining the truth of our prejudices? My witness just vanished, Raymond, my hired detective says there's information found, but he'll deliver it later when we meet."

"Wait a minute, explain to me about your investigation."

Rachel approached Ben, sitting next to the Taylor family's first son. His heart is kebat-kebit when he smelled the aroma of a typical perfume from Ben. As much as he could focus his attention, on this handsome, attractive man.

"It all started when I met a woman who looked a lot like Aunt Sarah. It should not be a big deal, because it could just be a similar face, a coincidence that can happen. However, I was disturbed and my instincts led to an investigation of the girl named Arlenne."

Rachel recounts the encounter with Arlenne, the failure that occurred and most likely someone knew and blocked her plan. He didn't go through it all because Ben seemed to be holding back angrily. The man looks trustworthy.

Actually, I did it so I could get back to my body if I managed to continue Rachel Taylor's failed mission.

"Arlenne's name ... Okay, so we need to meet this woman and also Uncle Gustevano."

Rachel breathed a heavy sigh. "Uncle Gustevano wouldn't want to see me. He's still hurt because of Justin's past problems."

"Me and Dad are going to see uncle."

"Dad's? You'll tell him."

"The last option if uncle still insists on rejecting the truth."

Yup! A little more, my steps worked.

"Ben, I'm really grateful to you."

The man embraces his sister and shuffles Rachel's hair. "You're very formal today and I'm upset."

Rachel could only laugh, masking the confusion of the interaction between her and Ben. She did not know that lousy Antagonist's attitude with her brother.

Deham's voice pretended to distract brother and sister. Their view leads to the source of the sound. Justin and Anna stood behind him, pointing. Code Justin forcing in.

"Your husband is coming, Rachel," Ben said. He did it blatantly, without caring about being heard Justin.

Rachel understands Ben's attitude, because the man knows Amara is actually pretending to like Justin. He's the one who really messed up the life of the sister. However, Amara twists the facts as if Rachel Taylor was a jerk.

"When are you coming, Ben?" justin sat down next to Rachel. Ignoring his wife's irritated face.

Ben does not answer Justin's question, while letting go of his embrace to Rachel. He said in a satirical tone. "I'm going home, Rachel, and if there's a problem going on here. Just report, I'll beat up whoever's bothering you."

"Ready!" rachel glanced at Justin's wry face. He got off the couch and took Ben to the private elevator door.

"I'll call you later, Rachel."

"Don't be long, Ben."

"Surely."

Rachel stood up to see Ben enter the elevator and just moved when her brother was out of sight. He almost hit Justin who was stuck in the back.

"Why did you come back here?" ask Rachel. He doesn't like bullies.

"I'll stay here until you're born."

Rachel rounded her eyes looking at Justin. Her sense of regret piled up because all this time, her husband was an irritating barrier.

"You need to get away from my life, Justin."

"No, Rachel," Justin said firmly. He said again before Rachel's protest sentence came out. "I believe you now about Amara."

Justin locked Rachel's mouth. Stunned for days passed, Justin finally said the unexpected sentence will come out of him.

"I should schedule a visit to an ENT doctor. My hearing is in trouble" said Rachel, a skeptic, hard to believe Justin could just change.

"Rachel, listen to me first. I investigated Arlenne and got information, a witness saw him with Amara at the Muryen Village airport, but he said while at the Atlanta airport. Arlenne escaped from Amara. The source said Arlenne looked terrified."

"really? Why didn't the girl see airport security?"

"Witnesses don't know that, Rachel. He was just looking and was in a hurry because of personal matters."

Rachel clucked in annoyance at the lack of human concern for other humans. Conditions like this are neglected.

"Rachel," call Justin again. "I went to see Amara and she told me a lie that made me suspicious. He constantly asks for your whereabouts. It's weird, because the butler said Amara used to come home just to make sure you were there or not."

"She must have suspected I was investigating her," Rachel said in a high tone. Her thinning lips implied anger at her move to meet Arlenne late. Amara came there first.

Justin looked at Rachel, slowly he said. "I'll help you."

"I don't need your help. This is Taylor's business. Ben's gonna move to help me."

"And, me, your husband. I'm gonna move to find Arlenne."

Rachel fell silent as Justin stepped into the elevator door. He pressed the panel and got into it. Just like Ben, the man abandoned himself and promised to help.

Wow, is this serious?

I now have two allies. Rachel cheered happily in heart. He immediately approached Anna. Unexpectedly now she had two people who would help to settle Rachel Taylor's pending affairs.
