The Baby Raising A Devil's

The Baby Raising A Devil's
Chapter 27

...***...

As the auction went on, I couldn't help but stand up.

Instead of naming this place 'Heaven', 'Hell' was a more appropriate term for a place like this.

'The slave auction was clearly illegal and forbidden, but why were there so many people in the auction house?'

"The next product is Lunetia's siblings. Both have clean white hair and white eyes.  The two of them could read. "the masked man introduced the slaves with a smile. Unaware of the sickening situation he had created.

The brothers were dragged to the center stage. The long chain handcuffed both their hands and ankles. Countless wounds polluted their entire bodies, leaving ugly marks on the skin.

"What do you think?"

Hearing Isaac's words, Henry lightly said.

"If you're going to buy one, just buy the girl. Since he can read, we can get him to read a fairy tale book for Leblaine."

The auction took place and before long the two of them were forcefully pulled off the stage.

The next turn of the slave was the tall man. Her long, thick hair covered her face. A roar shot out from his mouth, filling the entire hall, as he was dragged out of the slave cage.

An iron shackle hung around his neck, connecting to the countless chains that bound his entire body. His appearance was even worse than the previous slaves. Isaac's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Henry, look! That guy could probably light all the lanterns around the castle every day."

"No. He's too cruel. What if Leblaine gets hurt?"

Henry rebuked his brother.  Moving her eyes towards me, she asked.

"Leblaine, are you interested in any of them?"

"....."

"Leblaine?"

"I don't want a buddha." (I don't want a slave.)

Isaac tilted his head in confusion.

"Why?"

"Those are too much." (They are too strong.)

"That means they are good slaves. My ancestors say that being weak is bad."

'Fuck ancestor,' I cursed in my mind.

They must have some fucked-up principles. Why do they teach children such things? If they're still alive, I want to strangle them until they're forgotten by history.

"ASHER!"

An angry roar once again sounded from the shaggy-haired man. The audience could only gape at the feeling of the overwhelming gust of wind emanating from the center of the stage.

Clank's!

Amidst the gust of wind, the man's chain shattered and fell down. The clinking sound of chains hitting the floor resounded in the hall.

He then hit the ground with his fist and jumped towards the VIP section on the second floor where we were sitting.

Clank's!

The sound of metal clinking sounded once again. The man is now sitting on the guardrail. Scanning his surroundings with a ferocious gaze, he tried to find a way out of this hellhole. Unfortunately for him, there was no way out or place to run. He gritted his teeth, tenacity was visible in his eyes and somehow his gaze was fixed on me.

'Don't tell me.. He's taking me as his hostage?'

As if reading my mind, the man extended his hand towards me...

'....!'

My reflex closed my eyes and hugged my body, preparing myself for the impending attack. However, no matter how much time passed, no one came. I slowly opened one of my eyes and saw a shocking scene in front of me.

Isaac's sword blocked the man's hand, and the red aura emanating from Henry's hand, surrounded me, much like a cocoon, which surrounded me under his protection.

Isaac quickly hummed the man's foot, knocking him off the fence. The man, who was unable to resist the gravity, immediately fell down with a loud noise. Isaac immediately climbed onto the guardrail and jumped off the balcony, chasing the slave. He landed next to the sprawled man's body. Even before the man woke up, a sword had already been pointed at his chest.

The boy roared in frustration.

I grabbed the fence in a hurry and looked down. The beautiful floor was peok and cracked as if a meteor had just fallen. The man's body was surrounded by a blue line coming from Isaac's hand, a thin-looking line of aura tying up his entire body.

The line bound him tighter than a metal chain. Because of that line, he could not even move an inch. His whole body was completely frozen.

Fear crept in the hearts of the spectators as they watched the Dubbede children's power live.

Isaac waved at me from the first floor.

"Sir, he's very strong. You don't want to play with him?"

"He's a special creature. Born by combining animal and human blood. Especially this guy is young. Little miss can play with him for a long time."

'What are you talking about? You crazy?'

I could only stare in disbelief at the masked auctioneer saying those words.

I'd rather go back to the castle than buy slaves here.

'How can I persuade my sister not to hurt that person?'

No matter how long I contemplated it, I could only find one way to persuade them.

'... I don't plan on doing this in a crowded place, but....'

Give up my pride, "Wow!" I shouted with an expression full of excitement.

"Isaac and Henli sangad!" (Isaac and Henry are so cool!)

Isaac and Henry's eyes widened upon hearing my unexpected statement.

"Bwaine tidyak needs maenan balu. I'd rather belmain with Henli and Isaak. You're two more kelen than merheka!" (Blaine does not need new toys. I'd rather play with Henry and Isaac. You two are cooler than them!)

I hugged Henry, who was standing next to me, tightly. His body immediately stiffened in surprise at my sudden action, but even then I could see his lips twitching upwards triumphantly.

"Then... Should we just go?"

"Yes!"

'Yeah, let's go back. As soon as.'

As soon as I return home, I will tell the temple and the imperial family about that disgusting half-masked man.

On the other hand, as if his toy was snatched away, Isaac relented with a disappointed face.

"Oh, fine, if you think so. Let's just go. By the way, Brother... "

"...?" I tilted my head at his unfinished question.

"How fun is it to play with us?"

I said with a big smile.

"The most exciting!" (The most exciting!)

I could feel the situation finally turning in my favor when the faces of the two brothers brightened.

Suddenly, the entrance was opened violently, and someone we knew very well went inside

"Dyuke?" (Duke?)

Before I knew it, the Duke had entered this place. With big strides, within a few seconds he was already standing right beside me. His expression was dark, as if the sky was collapsing.

...***...

Minutes after the two brothers went to 'Heaven', a man sitting on a luxurious leather chair frowned. The attendant who reported LeBlaine's small trip to the store, shuddered under his master's bad mood.

'Bad class, ' he thought, criticizing his son's actions.

'The first thing a child likes is the most memorable gift, ' The Duke thought so, 'If that is so, then the gifts of his sons will be more memorable than him.'

As the thought flashed through his mind, his already dark expression became even more terrifying, scaring everyone who was in the room. Not waiting a second, he put on his coat and walked out of his study. He didn't even heed the Nos and administrator job application documents that had to be completed.

His mind recalled when he was alone together with Leblaine, without the two brothers by his side. His life was very peaceful and satisfying. Time was running slow and every day Leblaine would sit on her lap all day. Her normally heavy mood would turn light whenever the little girl was next to her.

Unfortunately, after the adoption process passed, the time between father and son seemed to decrease. Either because of the incidents that come one after another or the increasing documents that must be examined. But, even with his busy schedule, he was still included in Leblaine's list of favorite people. Only after his sons came did the situation change.

Dubbede remembers her first interaction with the girl. At first, he thought Leblaine was a nuisance to his life. Only a fearless child would stare coldly and boldly chase after him.

Every day, he would walk enthusiastically behind her, following her wherever she went. Dubbede never realized, since when did she feel empty without the presence of the little girl?

He didn't know exactly when or how he started to care.

The Duke could still remember the anger that enveloped him when the maid told him Leblaine had fallen ill. His words twisted in his head like a broken record, as if they were the last words Leblaine had spoken to him.

"Dyuke!"

"I beg you, schedule my father!" (Please be my dad!)

He almost let anger control him and ordered the execution of more than a dozen doctors that day. Fortunately, Leblaine woke up before his order was done. He managed to pull the Duke out of the cloud of anger.

Dubbede calmly closed her eyes and leaned back in the comfortable carriage seat. Unconsciously, she reminisced about all the happy moments she spent with her daughter. Suddenly a knock from the horseman's seat woke him from sleep.

"Your Majesty, we've arrived."

Duke tightened his coat before he got off the train. Nos, who failed to persuade Dubbede not to leave, now stands beside her.

"Where are Blaine and my son?"

"They were in the slave auction house, 'Heaven'."

Duke narrowed his eyes. He knows 'Heaven'. It was a slave auction disguised under a beautiful building to hide their activities, auctioning off immigrants and prisoners of war as if they were items.

That place had long been a problem for his territory. The act of selling human lives was illegal; however, the opera house was an untouched place, even for the lord of the territory, like himself.

It is more correct to say that the auction place had some dirty tricks than to be called untouched.

Not only that, the king's habit of ignoring some of the major criminal trades, especially those favored by the people.

The auction itself had some strong sponsors that made it difficult for anyone to drop the place.

"Did they give slaves as a Child's Day gift to Leblaine?"

"It looks so."

Hearing Nos reply, the Duke raised the corner of his mouth, cursing the plans of his two sons.

"They're doing useless things again."

The two brothers wanted to buy slaves as gifts. Then let's see their reaction when he bought 20 slaves for Leblaine.

The duke was walking towards the entrance, when Leblaine's words sounded in his sharp ears.

"How fun is it to play with us?"

"The most exciting!"

When that ridiculous statement rang out in his ears, the Duke stopped taking a step for a moment before walking towards the two brothers with long strides. He looked alternately at the bewildered Leblaine and her sons before finally ordering Nos in a cold tone.

"Blow up the place."

"I'm sorry?"

Feeling somehow the Duke's words were absurd, Nos licked his lips anxiously and prepared himself to hear the Duke's reply. The Duke then declared with a gnash of teeth.

"Burn this damn place to the ground."

...***...

Everything passed in the blink of an eye, and I could only stare blankly at the burning opera house.

The Duke ordered his men to burn down the 'Heaven' auction house, without even hearing any explanation.

Immediately after Duke's order came, four black-clothed officers, emerged from the shadow next to him and emitted an aura from thin air, burning the beautiful building.

Without caring about the commotion he caused, Duke carried me in his arms and walked to the exit of the building.

DUARR!!!

A huge explosion suddenly occurred inside the building before the last building fell into a pile of rubble. The good news is that everyone was there on time and there were no casualties.

All thanks to Nos' desperate screams before the building caught fire.

"Those who want to live, run!" His shouting.

'Luckily, the slaves also made it out.'

At the entrance, instead of panicking like all the visitors, a lethargic man instead counted all the runaway slaves and said to us,

"The stuff is yours now. Pay for it all."

'He should have been buried with the ruins.'

I looked at the man with hatred.

"What's up, Sister? Are you interested in him too?"

I immediately frowned at Isaac's words.

'How did he come to that conclusion anyway?'

There's no way I'm interested in a crafty person like him.

But that's when I realized, Isaac's eyes weren't on that disgusting man. He was instead staring at the shaggy-haired man who was crouching behind him. It was the boy who tried to take me hostage.

"Should we buy it? If you want it, you better buy it now. Now that the building has collapsed, we won't be able to enter the auction for a while."

"......"

"I'll buy it for you, but you'll also have to play with us even if I buy it. You said yourself that we're the coolest in the world!"

I don't know why he thinks I want to buy slaves. It never even crossed my mind to buy slaves. I happen to know about these auctions because of them. If only they hadn't tried to buy me a strange gift, I wouldn't have known about this terrible 'Heaven. I need to discipline them both.

'If the carrot does not work, then it needs a whip. If the good way doesn't work, then it's time to do it the rough way.'

I looked at Isaac and said.

"Tidyak, I'm not gonna kiss you..." (No, I won't play with you.)

"Huh? Why?!"

"Kalaw on second thought, you're not too cool." (In hindsight, kai wasn't very cool.)

"Why?! No way, you said I was the coolest!"

Isaac shouted in despair.
